Thomas Sowell on Enhanced Airport Security and the Obama Administration:

 The Quote of the Day

"If anything good comes out of the 'airport-security' outrages, it may be in opening the eyes of more people to the utter contempt that this administration has for the American people.

Those who made excuses for Barack Obama — for the candidate’s long years of alliances with, and for the president’s appointment of people with a record of antipathy to American interests and values — may finally get it when they feel some stranger’s hand in their crotch.

"As for the excuse of 'security,' this is one of the least security-minded administrations in American history. When hundreds of illegal immigrants from terrorist-sponsoring countries are captured crossing the border from Mexico — and then released on their own recognizance within the United States, that tells you all you need to know about this administration’s concern for security." --- Thomas Sowell, Economist, Author and Hoover Institution Senior Fellow.

  1. Sowell nails it with his observation of how lax our security really is. We like to pretend we are safe but, the reality is much different.

  2. Thomas Sowell is one of the preeminent political, economic and social philosophers of our time. It puzzles me why the black community does not embrace the likes of Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, Shelby Steele, Ward Connerly, etc., all men of intellect who possess a common vision of human nature to strive for individual freedom and liberty, free of the onerous burden of an ever increasing government bent upon subjugation of the people.

  3. It's easier for black people to not care and just keep doing what they have been doing for the last 40 or so years. Not all, but way too many are on the dole as a way of life. To think and see the truth might upset the apple cart of the welfare system. There could be so many wonderful role models in the black community like those you have mentioned and others but to have men like Sowell, WIlliams or even Bill Cosby as your role model takes effort and a willingness to change how you think. There is no thinking or caring involved in blindly following Sharpton and Jackson and the like.
