The Man Who Scares The Hell Out of the Left

Yid with Lid
Repost from 2/27/12

The song may say you only hurt the one you love, but in politics you hurt the one who gives you nightmares and Marco Rubio makes democrats wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat screaming at the top of their progressive lungs. Anybody who articulates conservatism as well as Rubio, who ties it to the American dream and presents it as the best hope for the average Joe in this country would frighten the Democrats. Rubio however, has two other significant and fear inducing things going for him.

First of all he is of Cuban decent, and being Hispanic means (to liberals) he is supposed to be on the their side. Progressives like to place people in groups, it makes it easier for them to take away their humanity and individualism. By destroying their neat and pretty picture of an Hispanic, Rubio scares the progressives.

Rubio's other threat is that he lives in a swing state with 29 electoral votes, 11% of the total needed to become president (270). Obviously that is a major chunk of electoral college votes (that went to Obama in 08 & 2012).

Put it all together and one realizes that the progressives are "scream for mommy in the middle of the night" frightened about the Florida Senator, which is way beginning with last October rumors began to spread about him that he wasn't really a "natural born US citizen."

It is the contention of these nut-jobs that because Rubio's parents were not yet Citizens of the US when the future politician was born, he is not a natural born US Citizen.

Now the Democratic smear machine is making hay about the fact that Marco Rubio used to be a Mormon. Rubio was baptized into the Mormon church when he was 8 and “remained active in the faith for a number of years,” attending LDS youth groups and walking to church most Sundays. Rubio left Mormonism to become a Catholic “a few years later,” and he got his first Communion when he was 13, in 1984.

Just like the "natural born citizen" questions raised ,the real issue is the thought of a conservative, Cuban-American from Florida on a GOP ticket gives the progressives nightmares. Just as they tried to do with Sarah Palin four years ago, the progressives are going to do their best to destroy Marco Rubio. The question is, will we let them!

Hispanic group demands national amnesty for 11 million illegals….

Talk Straight

"They helped get you another term, B-Rock. Looks like they want something in return."
The Daily Caller: "Hispanic amnesty activists are expanding their goals beyond the so-called “DREAM Act” youth amnesty, towards a national amnesty for roughly 11 million Hispanic illegals.
President Barack Obama and Congress “need to come together to deliver change on immigration policy, and by that we mean … a roadmap to citizenship for our parents and communities,” said Cristina Jimenez, direct of an advocacy group, United We Dream.
Their demand is an opening salvo in a post-election campaign to persuade the House GOP to provide “a path to citizenship” for roughly 11 million illegal immigrants, most of whom are low-skill laborers who compete for jobs against low-skill Americans.
The amnesty goal is supported by many progressive groups, in part, because most Hispanics prefer generous welfare policies, and so usually vote for Democratic candidates.
In contrast, many Republican advocates and legislators favor high-skill immigration, partly because high-skilled workers spur the economy and lower unemployment."
No one can say they didn’t see this coming. Obama sucked up to this community, promising them the moon and stars if they voted for him (whether they legally could or not) and they did. Obviously, they haven’t been paying attention over the last four years or they would have figured out he was bullshitting them the whole time.
But hey…at least they sold their Catholic souls and made sure that ObamaCare continues and their churches (at least the American ones) will be spending its money on birth control instead of needy communities.

Full Speed Ahead........A Ship of Fools

Babalu

So, I am hearing from people like Frank Luntz, and others, that Obama won over voters because he ran a negative, mean and nasty campaign, and campaign ads filled with lies ... and Romney lost because he didn't. I thought in the last few elections we have been told the American people didn't want any part of negative campaigning. Which is it, huh ... because I really am fed up with the moving of the goal posts every election on this reasoning?

This is hard enough, but it appears as if all sanity is gone. Really, Florida?
Rep. Allen West may possibly be out of the House.

That flaming idiot Alan Grayson has been voted back into the House.

And just to be fair, Ohio ... you really are a hopeless pathetic mudhole. Just keep digging...

Meanwhile, the Hurricane Sandy-stricken east coast is under another bad storm. But just so you folks suffering through being kicked while still down, Chris Matthews wants you to know your losses were the bestest damn thing evah for Barack Obama.

America, THIS is the filthy mentality YOU threw-in with... This is where you get your information and truth from. The deaths of over 110 people and billions in destruction was just friggin great for Obama, according to Chris Matthews. I am certain Matthews won't find any disagreement in the White House, just as long as he keeps sipping from the Obama bed pan he has been carrying for the guy for the last five years.

Bin Laden Peels Off a Few Bucks for the Obama Campaign

No block to foreign money – not even from dead terrorists.....

WND – Using a Pakistani Internet Protocol and proxy server, a disposable credit card and a fake address, “Osama bin Laden” has successfully donated twice to Barack Obama’s presidential re-election campaign.

The “Bin Laden” donations, actually made by WND staff, included a listed occupation of “deceased terror chief” and a stated employer of “al-Qaida.”

“Bin Laden” is currently set up on the official campaign website to contribute more to Obama’s campaign. The name is also registered as a volunteer. Since the “foreign” contribution was sent, “Bin Laden’s” email address has received several solicitations from Obama’s campaign asking for more donations.

The apparently foreign-based contributions were conducted as a test after a flurry of media reports described the ability of foreigners to donate to the Obama campaign but not to Mitt Romney’s site, which has placed safeguards against such efforts.

The acceptance of foreign contributions is strictly illegal under U.S. campaign finance law.

One $15 donation was made at BarackObama.com using a confirmed Pakistani IP address and proxy server. In other words, as far as the campaign website was concerned, the donation was openly identified electronically as coming from Pakistan.

Upon clicking the “donate” button, WND staff selected the $15 amount and were taken to a page on the campaign website asking for a first and last name, city, state, zip code, email address and phone number.

The information submitted was: “Osama bin Laden, 911 Jihad Way, Abbottabad, CA 91101.”

While the website only has options for U.S. states and zip codes, there is no mechanism in place on Obama’s website to verify the individual is actually located in that state or zip code, or even in the U.S.

The Obama campaign refuses to release the identification of donors who give less than $200

In the case of this donation, the 91101 zip code is real but corresponds to Pasadena, Calif., and not Abbottabad, the Pakistani city in which bin Laden was found holed up in a compound.

For a requested phone number, WND inputted the White House information line of (202) 456-2121. The email address used to set up the donation account was osama4obama2012@gmail.com.

After clicking “next,” the website asked for an employer, occupation and a password to set up future donations. WND staff entered the occupation as “deceased terror chief” and the employer as “al-Qaida.”

The transaction was made last Friday with the use of a disposable credit card. The website did not require the card’s security code.

The Media and Mormonism, on the Eve of the Election

Human Events
"At the end of August, Ed Klein, author of The Amateur: Barack Obama in the White House, wrote an editorial for Fox News in which he described a meeting headed by Obama’s campaign manager, David Axelrod. “According to my sources inside the campaign, Axelrod & Co. discussed what might be called the nuclear option: unleashing an attack on Romney’s Mormon faith via the mainstream media,” Klein wrote. The primary strategic goal would be turning evangelical voters, a key element of George Bush’s winning 2004 coalition, away from Romney.
Klein’s sources told him Axelrod was considering this risky strategy because the polls were closing in Wisconsin, Florida, Colorado, Nevada, Ohio, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Seven weeks after Klein wrote his editorial, most of those states have indeed become very tight, and there are polls showing Romney ahead in most of them.
There has been sporadic media interest in Mormonism throughout the campaign, ever since Mitt Romney became the likely Republican nominee. Quite a few stories were popping right around the time Klein wrote, and he listed some of them in his piece, from GQ Magazine and hyperventilating MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell (currently a minor sideshow attraction for challenging Romney’s son Tagg to a fistfight) launching high-octane tirades, to more respectable media outlets producing lengthy “special reports,” of the type they would never dream of directing at Reverend Jeremiah Wright’s Church of Racial Hatred."

Obama’s Aura Of Defeat

Well I’ve found my favorite paragraph of last week, in The New York Times of all places (granted it’s on one of their blogs), penned by Ross Douthat.
"Losing campaigns have a certain feel to them: They go negative hard, try out new messaging very late in the game, hype issues that only their core supporters are focused on, and try to turn non-gaffes and minor slip-ups by their opponents into massive, election-turning scandals. Think of John McCain’s desperate hope that elevating Joe the Plumber would change the shape of the 2008 race, and you have the template for how tin-eared and desperate a losing presidential campaign often sounds — and ever since the first debate cost Obama his air of inevitability, he and his surrogates have sounded more like McCain did with Joe the Plumber than like a typical incumbent president on his way to re-election. A winning presidential campaign would not normally be hyping non-issues like Big Bird and “binders full of women” in its quest for a closing argument, or rolling out a new spin on its second-term agenda with just two weeks left in the race, or pushing so many advertising chips into dishonest attacks on its rival’s position on abortion. A winning presidential campaign would typically be talking about the issues that voters cite as most important — jobs, the economy, the deficit — rather than trying to bring up Planned Parenthood and PBS at every opportunity. A winning presidential campaign would not typically have coined the term “Romnesia,” let alone worked it into their candidate’s speeches......"

An Undecided Diogenes Reader Attempts a Decision on Voting

Undecided Lars Abdul Mendoza III
Like many Americans, I have had a difficult time deciding which candidate to support in the  Presidential election. In my view, both candidates bring little to the table and are members of political parties that have contributed to the country’s current sad state of affairs.

Some thought Obama the Jesus we never asked for, even if he was a Kenyan, socialist, abortion loving Baptist Muslim communist. Hell, Jesus was a liberal anyway. And Romney strapped a horse to the roof of his dog’s tax returns. Who does that?

At face value, I simply can’t distinguish between the two. With this in mind, I have instead come up with a formula to help aid in my decision, and hopefully yours. Using complex mathematic algorithms and advanced scientific theories, it is possible for a voter to make an informed, confident choice when deciding who to support for president by simply applying a point system to each candidate. Following are an example of my system:

Has experience running various businesses: +1 Romney
Liquidated many of those businesses: -1 Romney

Looks athletic enough to run a marathon +1 Obama
…but smokes: -1 Obama

Mormons believe some weird-ass stuff: – 1 Romney
The Broadway show “Book of Mormon” won nine Tony awards: +1 Romney

Is a big fan of Chicago sports: +1 Obama
…but his favorite team is the White Sox: -1 Obama

Appreciates a good beer: +1 Obama
Doesn’t drink…ever: -2 Romney

The last four years: -1 Obama
The eight years before that: -1 Romney

His presidency broke through long-standing racial barriers: +1 Obama

Has endorsements of Hugo Chavez, Vladimir Putin, Cher

and most of the mainstream media: -3 Obama

Endorsed by Donald Trump: -2 Romney

Joe Biden: -3 Obama

So, tallying up the up the points leaves us at:

-5 Romney, -5 Obama…a tie. DAMN!

New York Times Hacks State's Voter Rolls

A few days ago the NYT revealed that they had attempted to hack Washington State's voter rolls in order to test its vulnerabilities. In three minutes they were able to “update the registrations of several prominent executives in Washington State.”

What they did is get hold of publicly available voter information, then simply use the Secretary of State’s website to change a voter’s address. Voila! The ballot gets re-routed, and the voter wonders why they didn’t get a ballot. The article cites the potential of thousands of registrations being changed this way, impacting the outcome of elections. Is that really a danger?

Theoretically, yes. Even Secretary Reed’s staff admitted it could happen, although they cited several security measures already in place that would make it difficult to do on a grand scale. This is one of the many vulnerabilities with a vote-by-mail system, where someone really could submit ballots for a hundred other people and not be noticed. It’s a little harder to pull a hundred levers in a polling place without being stopped.

North Carolina Registers 583 Democrat Votes Over the Age of 112

And now the record old. Democrats already have a monopoly on the dead, illegals and cartoon characters. It looks like the fraud isn’t enough so now they are registering people from the Guinness Book of World Records to vote.

From the Examiner:
"There are obviously verifiable vote fraud problems in North Carolina.
In 2010 those problems surfaced meaningfully as indicated in the below voter fraud post from an earlier Charlotte Conservative Examiner article:
"Perhaps in an effort to promote North Carolina as one of the healthiest States in the Nation, this latest voter twist comes to us from Susan Myrick of the Civitas Institute in North Carolina–not to be confused with Rep. Sue Myrick of NC who is unrelated. In a radio interview with local WBT Anchor Tara Servatious, Susan reports that she has been keeping track of the number of votes in North Carolina of individuals over the age of 110 years and apparently we have quite a few, over 410 of the 110 year olds–to be exact– actually voted via absentee ballot on October the 28th. Yes indeed, now it would appear that good ole NC has the market cornered on the Centenarian vote.
At latest count, Susan has garnered a total Absentee Ballot vote of over 2,660 people over the age of 110. "
"Someone contact the Guiness Book and warm up the Ford, the Fountain of Youth exists and its right here in lovely NC. It’s no wonder people are moving here in droves–maybe the use of tobacco isn’t such a bad thing after all? But, on a more serious note, with all of the irregularities going on all over the place, we can now begin to wonder about a few things.
Apparently those ultra-healthy seniors over 110 have aged and are now astoundingly over 112 years old, and are still able to make it to the polls ahead of time.
According to a post originally from the Silence Dogood political blog report, there were at least 758 individuals over the age of 112 who had either risen from their respective graves, or otherwise, to vote once again for the Democrats in charge, who might apparently have also guaranteed them an ever-lasting vote for life and beyond."

Obama’s Tax-Payer Back Green Energy Failures

The Foundry

"So far, 36 companies that have received federal support from taxpayers have either gone bankrupt or are laying off workers and are heading for bankruptcy. This list includes only those companies that received federal money from the Obama Administration’s Department of Energy. The amount of money indicated does not reflect how much was actually received or spent but how much was offered. The amount also does not include other state, local, and federal tax credits and subsidies, which push the amount of money these companies have received from taxpayers even higher."

*Denotes companies that have filed for bankruptcy.

The dollar amounts reflect the amount that was offered to each CEO, not what was actually accepted. This amount doesn't include any state, county, or city graft. Don't worry about the CEO's of the bankrupt companies, their children, or their homes. Seriously. I have a feeling that they'll get by....

Beating Barack Obama Exactly The Way He Planned

Wizbang

"A couple of months ago the hue and cry among conservatives about Mitt Romney trailing President Obama in the polls was deafening. Articles were written in most major mainstream publications attempting to figure out where Romney was failing. Blame was pointed all over the place at various members of Romney’s team and at the candidate himself.

Mitt Romney delivered on a nationwide stage exactly when he planned to deliver – face to face with the President. People knew who President Obama was, what they didn’t know was who Mitt Romney really was; just what they heard about him from the Obama and supporting SuperPAC ad machine. When Romney acquitted himself as serious, presidential, and far different that the caricature portrayed in Obama ads, he vaulted in front of the President. Of course long-time supporters already expected Romney to be ahead of Obama due the poor economy, but as Romney himself said in the 47% video’s people like Obama as a person and those who voted for him on 2008 have to be gently walked to dropping their support.

His performance in the first debate effectively destroyed the Obama campaign’s big summer spending campaign. Romney is now outspending the President in advertising in swing states, and has turned that debate performance into serious momentum. Notice that the whole shift, both in focus and results, is in line with the strategy that the Romney people laid out months ago.

New polls show Romney with big leads in Virginia and Florida, states he was struggling in a few weeks ago. Other “leaning Obama” states are moving back to toss-ups. In the second Presidential debate Romney polled well ahead of President Obama on the issues, especially the economy.

The Romney campaign took a big gamble on a big strategic plan and its paying off. Obama’s strategy was a gamble as well, but in following that plan he’s put himself into the trailing situation he’s in today. There’s really no new plan for either, the two campaigns are essentially locked into their strategies. The good news for Romney is that his strategy is focused on these final weeks. The bad news for Obama is that his strategy was focused on destroying Mitt Romney over the summer, not closing the deal in the final weeks."

Diogenes' Brief History of Electoral College Presidential Contest

These are the Electoral College Presidential Election maps going back to 1972, all from the American Presidency Project. Hitting the link above each map will take you to a detailed analysis of each election, a tally of the Electoral College votes allocated to each state at the time, plus a state-by-state vote total and other trivia.

1972  In the early 1970s, the left wing (i.e.Ted Kennedy, Jesse Jackson, George McGovern) had gained control of the Democrat party, but America wasn't buying it back in those days. Sitting President Richard Nixon was reelected with 520 Electoral votes (60% popular vote) with George McGovern only taking 17 (Massachusetts). Origins of the phrase "Epic Fail".

1976  Richard Nixon's Vice-President, Spiro Agnew, had just resigned. Gerald Ford was appointed to fill in as V.P. Then Nixon had to walk the plank. Ford then fell headfirst into the Oval Office unelected. The Republicans went ahead and gave Ford the nomination, since it appeared to be his turn. Washington outsider Jimmy Carter carried the south and won the 1976 election with 297 votes to Ford's 240. Democrats were suspicious.

1980  After a disastrous 4 years of a bad economy, inflation, attacks from his party's far left wing and hostages in Iran, Ronald Reagan rode in and defeated Carter 489 to 49, with Jimmy Carter carrying only his home state of Georgia, plus West Virginia, Maryland, Hawaii, VP Walter Mondale's Minnesota, and D.C. Democrat's suspicions confirmed.

1984   Ronald Reagan almost ran the table by handily defeating the Democrats sacrificial lamb Walter Mondale in the largest electoral college landslide in modern American history, 525 to 13. Mondale captured nothing but his ever-loyal Minnesota, plus D.C. Wipe out!

1988   Riding on the popularity of Ronald Reagan and their 2 successful terms, his V.P. George H.W. Bush beat an impotent Massachusetts Gov. Michael Dukakis 426 to 111. Let's face it people, I could have beat Dukakis.....

1992  Despite Bush's one time approval rating of 90%, a young and cocky Bill Clinton came from out of nowhere to beat George Bush the Elder by a total of 370 to 168. Texas business man Ross Perot ran as a third party, thus mudding the water and helped damage and take votes from Bush. Clinton was elected with only 43% of the vote. Remember this, Republicans....If you say "no new taxes", you better mean it.

1996  A disastrous first 2 years behind him, Bill Clinton zipped up his pants long enough to rally his supporters. The Republicans trotted out an ineffective Bob Dole because it was his turn. Clinton won reelection handily, 379 to 159. Once again the Perot factor prevented Clinton from getting a majority of the popular vote (49%). His pants soon returned to the floor.

2000  After the scandal ridden Clinton administration, George W. Bush barely squeaked by Clinton's V.P., Al Gore in a contested election with Gore winning the popular vote and Bush winning that what counts by a score of 271 to 267. The Everglades water level rose from the weight of all the lawyers in Florida. Democrats can safely blame this one on Bill Clinton's zipper issues.

2004  George W. Bush won reelection by beating John Kerry, 286 to 252.  Kerry came off as a wealthy Pompous Ass and Gucci Marxist through most of the campaign, but democrats wanted revenge so bad for 2000 and would have voted for Paris Hilton if it had been necessary.

2008  The Democrats snake oil salesmen dig up a back bench Senator named Barack Obama. The Republicans nominated John McCain because it was his turn. Despite his lack of any experience, not being vetted by the media and a controversial past, Obama goes on to election, 365 to 173. Nuff said.....

And here is Diogenes' prediction for 2012

Obama's Debate Prep

Middle Finger News Service

With the second Presidential debate just one day away, President Obama has been working intensively on two skills that eluded him in the first debate: talking and thinking.

According to one aide, much of the Presidents debate preparation has involved rehearsing a slew of prepackaged “zingers,” with mixed results: “We gave him what we thought was a foolproof line about the budget deficit and he somehow turned it into a crack about Paul Ryans workout pictures.” Reportedly, Obama's practice debates have gone worse than expected, with the President getting trounced by a variety of opponents, including a Secret Service agent and his Apple personal assistant Siri.

At a campaign appearance in Ohio today, Michelle Obama attempted to lower expectations for her husband's performance at this Tuesdays debate: “When Barack starts working his mouth and goes off on some weird tangent about who knows what, please just tune him out. God knows that’s how I’ve survived all these years.” The President also downplayed his debate prospects, telling supporters: “Mitt Romney could very well be the greatest debater I've ever faced. He’s Abraham Lincoln, Clarence Darrow, and the Roman orator Cicero put together. Next to that silver-tongued rascal I could very well sound like someone with a head injury, or like Joe Biden.”

Later in the day, the White House released a statement apologizing to people with head injuries.
