Fredo Stages Weird ‘Official’ Emergence From His Basement

It's not been a good few days for the media sideshow formerly known as "Most Trusted Name in News".  First we had the media hall monitor, Tater Stelter, losing his sh*t and crying in his pillow, then we hear Brook Baldwin is in dark places with severe mascara withdrawals, they totally blew the whole Korean Fat Kid is Dead thing, and now we find Fredo Cuomo gets caught faking his heroic emergence from the dankness of his prime-time televised basement solitary confinement.

According to The Federalist,  the CNN anchor dramatically staged a post-coronavirus emergence from his basement on Monday’s Fredo Prime Time, falsely implying the footage captured the “official” first moment he left his basement quarantine. But as we have learned, believing anything on CNN is kinda like believing in fairies.

Just last week on his radio show the brother of New York’s governor (Cuomo the Elder) complained about the downsides of his high-profile CNN gig. As the New York Post reported "Fredo then launched into a tale about a ‘loser biker’ who confronted him on Easter Sunday for being outside his property with his family despite his coronavirus diagnosis.” Fredo's staged emergence came after the  journalist talking head, discussed prior travels from his home, rendering Monday’s video report misleading at best and an outright lie at worst.

In the footage aired by “Fredo Prime Time,” the anchor ascended a staircase claiming, “Alright, here it is, the official reentry from the basement. Cleared by CDC, little sweaty, just worked out, it happens. This is what I’ve been dreaming of, literally for weeks.”

So, Fredo was diagnosed with the virus on March 31. He left his home to visit another property on April 12, at least a 30-minute drive from his home and flouting his own brother’s “essential travel” guidelines. April 20, he aired “the official reentry” from his basement on CNN. That’s the definition of Fake News. These are facts. CNN might call them apples. They indisputably amount to false coverage. They should raise the ire of media defenders. (But they won’t.)

To be clear, as far as CNN falsehoods go, this one isn’t the worst. Yet the weird attempt to revise Cuomo the Younger's personal history remains a glistening example of why the apple-versus-banana channel has serious credibility problems. The same people who rant daily about alleged lies from the White House twist facts to suit their own narratives.

Journalist Have Ruined The Reputation of Fake News

"Big light in skies, later to appear in east. Sonic booms scare minority groups in Sector B.
And there's hamburger all over the highway in Mystic, Connecticut."

"Good morning, those are the headlines. Now for the rumors behind the news......"
________________________________

Nestled among the shelves of my father's eclectic record library, scattered about in the Frank Zappa, Miles Davis and PDQ Bach LPs, were a smattering of vinyl jewels by the now legendary satirical comedy group, The Firesign Theatre. Their comedy is best described as cultural-lefty-absurdist, and was very much in keeping with their times (Nixon, Watergate, the Vietnam War, etc.). In live performances they wore bizarre costumes such as clown suits, safari garb with pith helmets, and some in the audience were likewise attired.  The sketches were well scripted with room for improvisation, with intricate wordplay and puns which were meant to be politically and culturally thought-provoking without being obvious.

I’ve been thinking lately about how much the Hate Trump Media has come to resemble this weird avant-garde ensemble. After all, “Fake News” was what Firesign Theater was all about. It was zany and absurd, and the joke was that the reality of life, especially contemporary American life, strained credulity, and invited not only satire, but a total flight into fantasy. A typical line from a sketch: “I don’t know what you know, but I do know that everything you know is wrong.” This illustrates the essence of Fake News, rooted in the leftist-inspired cultural divide that currently afflicts America.

The “mainstream media” (CNN, MSNBC, the three networks, the major newspapers) are so consumed by Trump hysteria that it places them squarely in this Firesign Theater zone. The NYT's Nicholas Kristof and his wife talk about the president in bed. CNN's Brian Stelter describes himself as “Trump addicted.” Any psychiatrist can tell you that monomaniacal, pathological hatred has its surreal aspects.

MSNBC’s interpretation of the importance of the Mueller investigation in its various guises is a good example of this “Credibile est, quia ineptum est” approach. Ricky Maddow, Stephanie Ruhle and Chris 'Soyboy' Hayes constantly strain to outdo themselves with conspiracy theories. One would think there were more Russians involved with the Trump campaign than populate the pages of War and Peace. More entertaining are the nightly shouting matches on Don Lemon’s CNN show. The Bill Maher-type formula dating from that host’s “Politically Incorrect” days is the model for Lemon and three or four indignant progressives spewing their inherent Trump-hatred at a lone conservative panelist.

The Batshit Crazy Lawrence O’Donnell reminds me of the Big Brother in the old “1984” Apple computer commercial, and Chris Matthews a ranting drunk in your corner bar. You never know, Brian Stelter’s future at CNN might involve honking a clown horn while wearing a pith helmet as an introduction to his commentary. Fake News Used to be a Lot Funnier. Journalist Have Ruined it. Lately, all this has been sending me back to Firesign Theater (easily found on YouTube) for perspective. Maybe a study of the works of Marx and Lennon is in order. Groucho and John, that is.......

Sarah Sanders Takes a Flamethrower to Celebrities, Dems and Fake News Peddlers.

The manufactured outrage of the  day is that the media and hollywood celebs took President Trump’s comments that the vicious MS-13 criminal gang were a bunch of “animals” and distorted them to push the big lie that the POTUS had referred to all illegal aliens as such. It was a total fabrication and a deliberate manipulation of the news despite the clear video to the contrary. But it's out there as fodder for the latenight TV monologues.

And you just knew reporters were going to try and ambush Sanders in today's briefing. There's a reason why she is hated as much as she is by the left.  She stands her ground and is more than up to the task of humiliating lying swine like April Ryan and Jim Acosta and others in the WH press corps, which she does with ease and regularity. And in today's briefing she incinerated the whole lot by welcoming them to keep right on defending the murderous MS-13, who are not much better than the terrorists that the Democrats, the media and celebs took up for when they tried to attack Jerusalem during the opening of the new U.S. embassy.

And For Those of You Who are Keeping Score.

More Fake News: NYT’s ‘Leaked’ Climate Report

The New York Times claimed Monday to expose a climate change report that network journalists worried would be "suppressed". That morning the news networks pounced on the story, speculating about the Trump administration’s nefarious plans. The morning shows in their anti-Trump zeal hid from their audiences that the NYT's "leaked secret report" was not in fact secret, and has actually been online and available to the public for months.

That didn't stop Good Morning America's Little Georgie Stephanopoulos from exclaiming: “No word yet on whether they will suppress, dismiss, or endorse the report.”

CBS This Morning's Major Garrett offered a lecture on what the document means: “The lack of comment from officials here and from those at some of the relevant federal agencies about this report's startling conclusions suggest not just skepticism but, at least initially, a lack of curiosity.”.

According to Alex Pappas on FoxNews.com, “Scientists had already debunked The New York Times' claim it had leaked a secret, gloomy climate change report which it published amid fears President Trump would suppress it.” He noted that the Times darkly fretted that the draft report “has not yet been made public” but “a copy of it was obtained by The New York Times.”

Pappas explained that those who worked on the report are pushing back against the claims, saying the version that was obtained and posted in full by the New York Times has actually been online and available to the public for months.  Robert Kopp, a climate scientist at Rutgers University who is listed on the report as among the lead authors, said on Twitter: “It's not clear what the news is in this story.”

Fake News Aficionado Newsman Dan Steps in Poop Again

Dan Rather, who is famous for quiting getting canned as the anchor of “CBS Evening News” in 2004 after airing and refusing to walk back his “fake news” about George W. Bush, has been caught up in a "Lyin' Brian Willams" type episode. This time it’s about his last published book, “Rather Outspoken: My Life in the News,” which features an image of Rather as a Marine. Rather apparently supplied the image to the publisher, which shows him in Marine dress blues and the famous white saucer cap, with the caption, “As a young Marine.”

Only he wasn’t. He washed out of boot camp while trying to become a Marine.

According to the wesite MilitaryCorruption.com:
"In his 2012 book, RATHER OUTSPOKEN, the then 81 year-old liberal icon and disgraced former CBS anchorman didn't say word one about the Corps in the text, but shockingly in the photos section, there was a headshot of a smiling, young Dan wearing Marine dress blues, including the famed white saucer cap. With the shocking pix came the cutline: "As a young Marine."
Rather has written several biographical books over the past 40 years, but this was the first time the Texan climbed out on a limb and portrayed himself in print as a onetime member of the Corps. It was a risky move, as Dan knows he didn't graduate from boot camp.  A  Marine Corps League official stated one must actually graduate from training to earn the coveted USMC emblem, the globe and anchor. Only then, can one be rightfully called a "Marine......"
Records obtain of Rather's brief time in the Corps by MilitaryCorruption indicated he never completed boot camp and was "medically discharged" on May 11, 1954.  But hey, as we have learned from Barky Obama's tomes, autobiographies need not be factual.

It was after his 2004 report on President George W. Bush that Rather quit CBS. He reported there were memos that showed Bush was given preferential treatment while serving in the Texas Air National Guard during the Vietnam War.

The documents were quickly found to be badly made forgeries. CBS retracted the story and fired Mary Mapes, the story’s producer. Rather was subsequently fired pressured to retire from his prestigious broadcast position in 2005. The scandal has become known as “Memogate” and “Rathergate.”

It's kinda sad to see the washed-out 85 year old interviewed on the progtard propaganda network MSNBC attacking Donald Trump non-stop from the day he took office. But then again, famed Newsman Dan has made a career of attacking only Republicans.
