Standing Up to Pee Gives Boys an Unfair Advantage in Physics

PJM - Yes, you read the headline correctly. In the latest example of identity politics taken to its absurd end, three Australian college professors believe that "playful urination practices may give boys an advantage over girls when it comes to understanding physics."

The three professors didn't publish their thoughts on a satirical website like The Onion.  They published on Tes, a website that provides "educational materials, jobs, news, and courses from the world's best community of teachers and school leaders."

In the article entitled "Taking the pee out of physics: how boys are getting a leg-up", Anna Wilson, Kate Wilson, and David Low argue with a straight face that peeing standing up provides an advantage for boys over girls. Explaining what prompted their conclusion about the advantages peeing standing up gives boys, the professors write,
"The gender gap in physics, and other related subjects including engineering, has long been a cause for concern."
After casually going through a list of possible explanations for why young women might not perform as well in physics as do young men — things like lack of female physics teachers, cultural pressure and expectations, and gender bias in the teaching materials — they conclude: "there may be another reason, too."

The Age Old Secret of Patriarchal Dominance - The Projectile Arc

After noting that girls lag in areas of physics that deal with projectile motion, the article reveals:
"Like many parents of small (and not-so-small) boys, two of us (KW and DL) have observed the great delight young males take in urination, a process by which they produce and direct a visible projectile arc."
Laying further groundwork for the assertion that standing up to pee aids in learning physics, the three detail the ways in which peeing standing up is a central yet fun part of the male life:
"The fact that boys (and men) play with their ability to projectile pee is hardly contentious. Boys are trained to pee into toilet bowls with floating targets, a huge variety of which can be bought on Amazon; Amsterdam Airport Schiphol famously cleaned up its urinals by encouraging men to hit flies etched next to the drain.
All this is experienced up to five times a day, so by 14, boys have had the opportunity to play with projectile motion around 10,000 times. And 14 is when many children meet formalized physics in the form of projectile motion and Newton’s equations of motion for the first time."

So according to the three esteemed college professors, peeing standing up is not only a "delightful" activity for boys (who I have been told take to an entirely different level of activity on a regular basis as they get older) but also gives boys an intellectual advantage over girls also.  But to their credit they do acknowledge that "there is no simple way to provide girls with the same opportunities for exploring projectile motion" that boys have. While the authors of the article don't propose it, in today's world it may not be a stretch to assume that the next step for progressives pursuit of equality and social justice on college campus would be to make it illegal for men to pee standing up.....

Kneeling for a Self-Deceiving Lie

By Roger Simon - Go back to what initiated this whole escalating orgy of racial accusation and you find one of the more despicable and self-destructive lies of our time -- that the police are targeting minority communities.

Heather Mac Donald's excellent "The War on Cops" is chock full of statistics demonstrating why this is not only a lie, but the complete opposite of reality. Unfortunately, Mac Donald is white and therefore, I'm told, disqualified, so I will quote a short version from the Wall Street Journal's Jason Riley, who happens to be black:
"In New York City, home to the nation’s largest police force, officer-involved shootings have fallen by more than 90% since the early 1970s, and national trends have been similarly dramatic. A Justice Department report published in 2001 noted that between 1976 and 1998, the teen and adult population grew by 47 million people, and the number of police officers increased by more than 200,000, yet the number of people killed by police “did not generally rise” over this period.
Moreover, a “growing percentage of felons killed by police are white, and a declining percentage are black.” A separate Justice study released in 2011 also reported a decline in killings by police, between 1980 and 2008. And according to figures from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the rate at which police kill blacks has fallen by 70% since the late 1960s."
So why are all these multi-millionaires insulting the country that made them wildly rich and creating a national (even international) crisis about police brutality when, with rare exceptions, it's no longer there? Do they actually believe their own lie? Probably, to some extent, they do. After all, they're surrounded by it.

The media -- aka Democrats with press passes -- constantly rattle on about the evils of the police in order to stir the racial pot. It even got worse after Barack Obama was elected. (Not surprising, really, when you think about it.) - Read More

I Give You the Antifa Special (and I do mean special) Forces

Here we have a fine unit of leftist warriors prepared to battle those Nazi gun toting conservatives: From left to right we have Sam 'No Soul' running the shotgun (probably bird shot) 6-8 rounds, nothing else on his person. Next we have 'Tupac Shaqueer' with his "Glock Forty" EXTENDO CLIP! Then we have 'LEGOLAS' that stole a compound bow from one of his moms many suitors.........armed with 3 field tipped arrows. He always hits his mark.  He wears no shoes to keep completely silent! He wears a flack jacket just encase (not that it would stop a round). Then we have 'Dread Lock the Deadshot' with his Magpul P40.  He fires round after round at the Nazis. His NC Star scope was damaged and bent down in the last war! Its said he now only point & shoots. - Michael Hall FB

Maybe States Should Revisit Subsidies to NFL & NBA Teams

It was only a matter of time before the NFL going political would ensure blowback, and the league office should have damn well recognized that. The NFL has major exposure to its business model in the event Congress ever revisits its antitrust exemption, and the league makes millions, if not billions, thanks to tax breaks and sweetheart deals from state and local governments on publicly-funded facilities it enjoys.

When it allows its idiot twenty-something players, freshly marinated from social justice warrior academies disguised as sociology, criminal justice, African-American Studies and other pseudo-academic departments at major colleges, to bring political activism to sidelines of games the NFL is no longer entertainment for everyone. It is now contributing to the cultural divide rather than helping to heal it.

Louisana State Representative Kenny Havard (R-St. Francisville), who chairs the House Transportation Committee, is now calling for a rethinking of the state’s subsidy money going to the Saints & Pelicans Sports Franchises.

From The Hayride:
“The very reason (the Saints) have the privilege and opportunity to play professional football while being paid millions is because someone in uniform died protecting their right to do so,” Havard said. “It is a disgrace to the men and woman of this nation and state who have sacrificed so much.” Havard’s statement didn’t specify the amount of state money that he proposed be diverted from the Saints the NFL.
“Disrespecting our national anthem and flag in the name of social injustice is the highest form of hypocrisy,” he said. “Our free society made possible by our fighting men and women has made available free education, free lunch, housing and free healthcare and is now be considered socially unjust.
“It is time the taxpayers quit subsidizing protest on big boy playgrounds. I believe in the right to protest but, not at a taxpayer subsidized sporting event. Do it on your own time. There are plenty of disabled children, elderly and veterans in this state that would appreciate the money.”
According to a 2015 Forbes story, Saints and Pelicans owner Tom Benson was “set to rake in an estimated $392 million from state subsidies through 2025.

The Orange Guys vs The Cats

Syracuse vs LSU
6PM CT - ESPN2

After the worst defeat in the 111 year history of the Miss. St vs LSU football, some impatient LSU faithful and many of the professional sports monkey media are saying the sky is falling.  I'm not one of them.  Some have totally lost sight of the fact the Tigers are a very young team, with 20 freshmen in the rotation on both side of the ball. Mistakes are going to be made and losses not to be totally unexpected. I sensed something wasn't right Saturday night from the very beginning, from the shoving at the coin toss to the targeting ejections by veteran players. I said preseason I was cautiously optimistic, and it's still early season yet. And as many Alabama fans will tell you, one game does not make a season. Last week is in the books and hopefully a wakeup call, and Coach O' fixed what ever was wrong last week.

Saturday night the Tigers welcome the ACC Syracuse Orangemen to Tiger stadium. The teams last played in 2015 with the Tigers walking away with a 34-24 win.  I have already well stated my utter disdain for the color orange..........especially within a sea of Purple and gold. Tigers get back on track.

I say Tigers by 13

Elsewhere in the SEC:

Alabama vs Vanderbilt - 2:30PM CT- CBS
I think this may be one of the toughest first half games Alabama will face all year. Vandy has the fire, is playing at home and is gonna go for a kill. Don't be surprised if it's a low scoring close game. But in the end Alabama wears them down in the 4th and walks away.

I say Tide by 10

Florida vs Kentucky - 6:30PM CT- SECN
The Squirrel and his Gators got lucky last week, but it's short lived luck. They ain't playing in the Swamp and Kentucky knows where the end zones are......

I say Wildcats by 9

Miss. St vs Georgia - 6PM CT - ESPN
I'm not ready to buy Miss. St. stock just yet. They beat Georgia at home I'm in. Not Till Then. LSU was not a #12 team, I think Georgia is. Playing in Athens gives The Dogs the big edge.

I say Georgia by 12

Texas A&M  vs Arkansas - 11:00AM CT ESPN
The Hogs and the Aggies suit up to play at Jerry's World in Dallas Saturday. Neither coach can afford to lose this game and the one that does will be on a hot seat for real. If the hogs can protect Austin Allen and give him time to throw, the hogs can win this one. I'm Thinking that ain't gonna happen.

I say Aggies by 9

Last week was a bad week all the way around for The Kid. Not only did my team get trounced, but for the first time in two years I was less then .750 on my predictions, missing all threeThat leaves me at 5-4 going into Week 4

The Godfather Goes All Humanitarian and Stuff ??

It's so easy sometime to see through liberal intentions. And when it's the entertainment elite with Millions in the bank asking for money for a cause, you can bet there is something in it for them, or they themselves are just donating their pocket money while pleading for you to give till it hurts. It's always about someone else's money.

After Hurricane Irma devastated the Caribbean island of Barbuda actor Robert De Niro, you know, the good liberal who wants to punch Donald Trump, quickly set up a meeting at the United Nations to plead for relief money for the Caribbean island.  During the meeting, De Niro hailed Barbuda as an “unspoiled beauty, a paradise found” but added, “we have a humanitarian crisis, an entire island destroyed.”

According to the Hollywood Reporter De Niro told the meeting:
“We must act together to help the most vulnerable. The recovery process will be a long, hard road. … Working together with all of you, Barbuda can rise to be stronger and be more resilient.......”
De Niro probably hoped that the public and the media would view his meeting as an example of his good liberal humanitarian activism, but otherwise not look too closely. After all, the people of Barbuda were hit hard by the storm, with 90 percent of the island’s building damaged by Irma. But unluckily for De Niro, the public quickly discovered his true interest in the Barbuda–and it’s far from altruistic.

As it turns out, Barbuda is home to the future Paradise Found Nobu Resort. The owner of the luxurious multi-million dollar getaway? Robert De Niro.

De Niro and his business partner James Packer bought the property in 2016 and have pumped millions into the former K Club, an exclusive destination known to be frequented by world elites like Princess Diana of Wales. The new, updated resort was still under renovation when the hurricane hit.

But even as he sat there pretending to care about the people of Barbuda, they don't seem don’t care much for him. When he first bought into the giant resort, the people of the island opposed his plans to gobble up hundreds of additional acres to be added to his luxury resort plans.  It appears that De Niro strong-armed the island’s government to bend to his will.

De Niro, who has a net worth of $200 million, now wants the nations of the world to write Barbuda a check for the repairs? The question is: how much of  of his concern is really for the people of the island , and how much is for the movie star’s resort?
