Sharpton: Democrats Needs Them Some ‘Spectacle and Drama’.

When you’re a tax-cheating race-hustler with an ever-diminishing hold on your former glory, you look for ways to stay in the news. You attach yourself to the right causes, organize marches for possibly nonexistent issues, work to gin up racial strife, and do whatever you can to keep your name in the papers. If your relevance has collapsed in your own country, you head across the pond and offer your dubious wisdom to foreign leaders.

And that brings us to Al Sharpton.

After a visit at 10 Downing Street, Rev. Al spoke to British reporters. He offered a sampling of his usual “everyone’s racist but me” schtick, and offered Democrats some terrible advice as they head into the midterms and 2020.

"Donald Trump is on course to be re-elected in 2020 because those in the current crop of potential Democratic presidential candidates are “too tame to deal with an untamed opponent,” one of the party’s key power-brokers has said...." 

"Speaking to a group of Guardian journalists following a visit to 10 Downing Street and a session with black MPs, the Rev Al Sharpton warned that the likely challengers to Trump are failing to galvanise opposition to the president. “They’ve lost the ability to dramatise. He [Trump] understands spectacle and drama and they don’t.”

Now, I’ll grant Sharpton this: Trump does know how to play the media. He’s a natural when it comes to manipulating coverage and using liberal outrage to his benefit. However, that’s not why Democrats “can’t deal” with him now.

Prior to Trump’s inauguration, every Democrat on Earth predicted disaster. By now, the stock markets were to have collapsed, we were supposed to be knee-deep in a global thermonuclear holocaust, and the nation would utterly despise its President – to the point where the common man would be storming the White House with pitchforks and torches. Dems even concocted crazy schemes to install Hillary Clinton once the Russia investigation removed Trump from office.

It’s not a lack of ‘drama and spectacle’ that’s hurting Democrats. It’s their policies, their goals, and their grotesque indignance over their 2016 loss. People just aren’t buying what they’re selling. Despite what Sharpton apparently believes, “drama and spectacle” are not going to be enough to turn that around. In fact, if past serves as prologue, it will only make the Dems’ situation worse. People are simply sick of the doomsaying, sick of the identity-politics, and sick of the left-wing games. …and that spells trouble if you’re expecting a blue wave.

Reason #283 Why Liberalism is a Mental Disorder.

Monday the Supreme Court made a narrow ruling that a Colorado baker’s religious rights were violated when the state civil rights commission showed zealous hostility towards the baker's religion after they refused to bake a cake for a rump ranger wedding. The reaction from the left was that the Supreme Court had taken a step towards legalized gay discrimination! (they didn't) I know, was shocked too. Liberals are usually so rational and even keeled. The decision was 7-2, meaning that 2 liberal Justices agreed with it. That poses a problem for the psyche of leftist. They care nothing of people’s religious freedom or consider it something that is protected by the Constitution.

Believing the gay minority just got run over, those deep thinkers at the lefty website Vox have come up with a solution to just this problem, if having the Supreme Court rule on Constitutional issues is a problem. Vox wants to straight up diminish the authority of Supreme Court.

Yes, this is really dumb leftist thought. It's Vox:

"Majority rule can lead to abuse of minorities, justifying judicial protection of minorities, but how do we ensure that the Court both protects the minorities who really need protection, and does so in a way that allows majority interests to prevail when they ought to? The Court’s answer, “trust us,” is increasingly out of place in an era of populist rejection of elite rule." 

"A democratic system for protecting the rights of minorities is desperately needed. We describe here a voting system that does just that — by allowing citizens to vote in proportion to the strength of their interests. It would be simultaneously more democratic and less vulnerable to the trampling of rights than the options currently on the table, and it would not involve elite interventions in politics through judicial review...."

This Vox-splainer is a really long droning piece but the basic gist is that there would be no more need for Supreme Court in these kind of cases, and minorities who have an interest in a social issue would be allowed to vote for it in a national referendum system. Other examples of resolutions: gay people's vote would weigh more on gay issues and anti-gun nuts vote would weigh more on gun control bills, etc. 

The geniuses at Vox are complaining our system is unjust by offering a solutions that is even more unfair. I’m serious, this is what they are pushing. Read it for yourself.

Have you noticed how when rules and systems that are fair to everyone move against liberal interests they suddenly become unfair and must be abolished? Hillary Clinton won the popular vote but lost the Electoral College and now the left has decided the EC is unfair and unAmerican. Now the Supreme Court makes a ruling that the left doesn’t even understand, but because it seems like it ruled against gay people (it didn’t) the SC has to go too.

And the 2020 field is in such disarray that if she were to say she'd run, America's favorite fat girl Oprah would probably be the leading contender.

Since the ambitious Senator Kirsten Gillibrand committed heresy by backstabbing Bill Clinton, many Clinton allies are looking elsewhere to throw their money and support. As the political rhetoric heats up, with their hair on fire the dems continue to run leftward. But not toward the leftist wingnut Bernie Sanders.  Like Gillibrand, they seriously eye another candidate who has the correct plumbing and who they believe also meets the number one job requirement of the Democrats; to convince Americans should prioritize electing the nation’s first female POTUS above any other trivial issues that may actually impact their lives.......

.....the cynical progressive phony who spouts hatred of capitalism, especially Wall Street, and could be the next dumpster fire for the Democrats - the only woman in politics who is even MORE grating and annoying than Hillary, Elizabeth Warren.

The shift towards Warren has to be a sucker punch right in the kisser for Kamala Harris, whose skin color would have seemed to have given her pole position heading into the primaries. But Harris is no Barack Obama. She's raw, dumb and too mired in the sort of California kookery that doesn’t sell in real America. The Dems probably also don’t want to count on a heavy black turnout at the polls because another two years is a lot of time for more of them to finally see that life on the Democrat plantation isn’t Sugarcandy Mountain after all.

GDP Estimate for 2018 Q2 

After strong gains in personal income and consumer spending in April, a bevy of Wall Street firms upped their GDP forecasts. Amherst Pierpont Securities raised its estimate to 4.5% from 4.2%. Macroeconomic Advisers increased its forecast to 4% from 3.6%. Natwest raised its projection to about 4% from 3.2%. Barclays also upped its estimate, but it was near the low end of forecasts. It raised its target to 3.3% from 3%. GDP has only topped 4% three times since the end of the Great Recession in mid-2009. - MarketWatch
