We have all come to know if you have a “D” after your name, Al Sharpton will smile, nod, and agree with anything you say, usually because he has no idea what you're talking about. It doesn’t matter how outlandish your claim may be, if you’re a member of the correct party he’ll give you a blank check. Want to claim there are whales are flying over New York? He’ll proclaim it bad for people of color and ask you how you will to fix the avian whale problem.  How far past the line do you think you’d have to go to shock Al Sharpton? Would flying whales do it? Nope.

Enter the Psychedelic Warrior Beta O'Rourke. If someone polling at 0% wants a double take from Sharpton, they have to go big, all the way to comparing the DJT to Joseph Goebbels, and America to the Third Reich.

For the record, most of what Beto outlines in his argument never in fact happened. Trump didn’t “attempt to ban all people of one religion.” He never said “all Muslims were inherently dangerous or defective.” He’s not “de-humanizing immigrants,” and the Obama administration was responsible for the policy of “people in cages” practice.

Beto may want to read up on the things that led the German people to embrace a monster like Hitler, and scapegoat an innocent minority, before he opens his uneducated trap again. If anyone is acting like Nazis, it's beto and his allies on the left.

The rationale is probably as silly as anything Robert Mueller ever investigated. It is made even more silly by the fact that attempting to impeach Trump for trying to stop corruption and to champion the rule of law will one of the hardest concepts imaginable to sell to about 80% of America.  Particularly when the evidence on Hunter Biden and good ol’ Dad starts coming out.

I’m not sure that the politics of this has been completely thought through. It seems to me that impeachment has a logic all its own and once unleashed is hardly manageable. The impeachment inquiry would undoubtedly dominate the Democrat primary and deprive the Democrats of an opportunity to talk about anything else. Once the impeachment inquiry gets underway, there is a less than zero probability that a hyper-partisan House Judiciary Committee doesn’t vote out articles of impeachment.

That, then, puts Pelosi in the position of either supporting an impeachment hearing in the midst of an election season…letting Trump dominate the news every day and letting the public see just how batshit crazy the Democrats are…or of quashing the entire thing and depressing Democrat turnout. This is their Hail-Mary play to stop a 2nd term. So, it doesn't actually matter if he's successfully impeached or not in the end. It's about the timing and blanketing the entire election cycle with time consuming impeachment talk.

That the Democrats aren’t even waiting to view the leaker’s complaint or the transcript of the call before screaming for impeachment doesn’t inspire confidence in their accusations. They’re gambling big here. The nation is witch-hunt weary and polls show impeachment not popular.

Ahead of the Houston's impending democrat presidential primary debate, about a dozen activists suspended themselves from the Fred Hartman Bridge in order to fight the use of fossil fuels. In order to make their point, they held yellow and red flags. Maybe they should’ve gone with yellow and blue — those two colors make green. Or…what’s the official flag for insanity?

A Diversity Psychosis and Melanin Fetish Have Thoroughly Consumed The Democrat Party Apparatus.

Yes, the mere title of this post would probably get me labeled a racist in some circles today. But while we watch DJT publicly drive democrats absolutely crazy, the presidential candidates race to out pander each other for minority votes, and civil war breaking out in Nan's democrat house majority, down in the deep bowels of the party apparatus, identity politics and an unhealthy obsession with gender and racial diversity has the democrats literally eating themselves from the inside.

Following a pair of stories at POLITICO detailing deep concern with the party’s campaign apparatus over a lack of diversity (oh no!) some top echelon staffers at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Monday told Rep. Cheri Bustos (D-Ill.) chair of the committee, she could put their jobs where the sun don't shine because the ratio of Penis-to-Va-jayjay & correct balance of skin tones weren't up to their leftist PC standards and very upsetting.

First the DCCC executive director resigned during a tense meeting at the party’s Capitol Hill headquarters, followed soon after by much of the senior staff, including the communications director, a top DCCC communications aide, political director, deputy executive director and the DCCC’s own director of diversity. 

Politico reported last week that top lawmakers in the Congressional Black Caucus and Congressional Hispanic Caucus were extremely bent out of shape and accusing Bustos of short-changing minorities by excluding them from her senior staff and failing to live up to promises she made during her campaign for the chairmanship. Bustos flew back to Washington to attend an emergency staff meeting at the DCCC Monday. Bustos held a tense call with staffers on Saturday before deciding to fly back and address the committee in person on Monday.

To show just how far moonbat some dems have gone, on the above mentioned conference call, Rep. Bustos "briefly" apologized for offending people by describing her husband and children as being of "Mexican descent" and announced she will joyously undergo diversity and inclusion training in the coming weeks.

In their ongoing anemic attempts at attacking anyone in the media to the right of Vladimir Lenin, the intellectual sinkhole and self-appointed media ankle-bitters known as Media Matters edited together video clips to show Fox news as "Lashing Out at Women of Color in Congress". What their video really does is reveals & catalogs truths about certain members of congress and their idiocy, racism and bigotry, while accusing Fox News of doing something wrong by pointing them out. This should be an RNC commercial. 

Somewhere I've heard this referred to as "Stompin' On Your Own D**K".  But I doubt anyone there is so equipped to do that, and since I run a classy joint here and don't use such shitty language, we'll just call it the "Don Lemon Effect."

Post Clown Debate Observations For Those Smart Enough Not To Have Watched.

Well, no real surprises tonight, just the 10 bitching about mainly the same crap they have been all my life, with a few recent issues added in. DJT got off light, as most of the issues could have been addressed by other presidents they supported and congressional bodies of which they were seated in the past, but were careful not to let on they themselves were responsible for any of the mess. (lookin' at you Lizzy).  It was basically the economy sucks, the rich are too rich and of course the occasional Trump is a Dick. But not once did anyone mention front runner Joe.

Senator Lizzy was placed front and center as obvious front runner of this group of dwarfs. My one question of the night would have been "does this woman own any clothes?" My Gawd lady, how many times do we have to see you in that same purple jacket?????

Moving on, the pregame show featured a head scratching performance by a giddy Nicole Wallace who sounded like a liquored up 16 year-old just before a rock concert. Brian Williams was...well Brian Williams without the tall stories of mythical heroism.

As the main event started Senator Lizzy's meds had obviously kicked in and the usual shakes as she rattled on were evident.  The highlights of Lizzy's night; corporations are just bad - Free college for everybody. She went into detail bashing the very healthcare system she and her comrades voted for and ceremoniously rammed down our throats. She seems to have a real mental block concerning the realization Health Ins. co. have to make a profit to stay in business. DUH! She also wants you to pay for Tameka's abortion so she can use her money to lease a new Toyota.  Lizzy somehow doesn't get it that gun violence isn't a public health problem, it's a cultural problem. But that can't said in public, but everyone of these political scam artist know it.  By closing statements, Lizzy's meds had wore off and looked like she needed a beer.  But in the end, she made it perfectly clear, she's gonna fight for all you little people you!

Beto, more reserved than usual (possibly because they wouldn't let him  stand on his podium) sporadically broke out into Spanish, speaking to to all the future border jumpers - was for raising the corporate tax rate to punish employers - called for a democrat rewrite of all existing immigration laws in their own image, and like all the candidates, gave rigmarole answers to hide the true intentions - unfettered immigration via porous borders. They ain't foolin' nobody. Beto also wants to let the traumatized school shooting kids have a say in writing new gun laws. Yo Beto, we don't need you or any other kids input concerning our constitutional rights. Beto's says he's doing it for the children though. What a F**kin' dope!

Senator Amy said "we need more immigrants." What? To sleep in the streets? She also said DJT should not make any moves concerning Iran without asking her and her congressional comrades. And they will say NO!

Senator Spartacus was kind enough to remind us twice he was black, and kept reminding us he lives in a crime ridden neighborhood. That's really no way to talk about the Nations Capital, Cory.  He too broke out into Spanish, but I'm still trying to understand what the word "Toenail" has to do with politics? Spartacus is in favor of....... licensing all guns. NO! You Dope. You license cars, pilots and businesses, NOT CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTs!  He also said "the democrats need to get the courts back so they can pass their legislation." Read that quote again.  In the end he assured the people he was the one to beat down that Donald Trump guy.

Julio (or was it really Juan?) is for tax payer funded abortion coverage for Transexuals.....  Wait, What?  And he is also enthusiastically in favor of taxing the hell outta you for a Marshall Plan for the rest of the hemisphere, decriminalize illegal immigration and make it like parking ticket. It's basically MAMA, 'Make America Mexico Again' agenda.

And that brings us to the Honorable Mayor of NYC, who more than once reminded the people in attendance he was the Honorable Mayor of NYC, who wants to take your guns and money and make America like NYC. Nuff ' Said. You're excused. Thanks For Playing the game, Bill.

I must stop for a moment to say, Ricky Maddow looked absolutely fabulous tonight with his black, horn rimmed, look more smarter Rachel Goggles from the past. Good Times, Good Times. And Chuck Toad still, as always, looked like street corner pervert. But as questioners, I admit they were both most excellent. 

I vaguely remember the other candidates yapping (I was in the kitchen lookin' for the corkscrew, which took priority at the time) about the seas rising and green stuff, that we need more corrupt unions as well as giving us all "Free Health Care" (but you can still buy your own if you want to). That my friend sums up the democrats thinking. You tell me, if their grand plan for Free Healthcare is so good, why would I spend my money to pay for different health care myself??? These people truly believe their voters are stupid.

All in all, the real winner was Crazy Joe. Not one person took a shot. They all know they're losers.

Out-Crazying The Crazy is the Soup of the Day

On the eve of the democrat debates, the Circus Train is approaching maximum velocity, and the Democrats’race to crazy is far from over. The 20+ candidate competition (I've loss count) is now little more than a round-robin to see who can propose the most insane idea, then use that position to accuse the rest of the field of not being a true progressives. Want restriction on abortion, anything at all, well you’re not a "true progressive." Reluctant to support firearm confiscation, same thing. Voice any support for the continued existence of the insurance industry, and you lose, you're no true believer.

Now, if you expect people to pay back student loan contracts they willingly entered into, you’re "on the wrong side of history."

Bernie Sanders “revolutionary proposal” is to punish Wall Street with a crushing $2.0 trillion in new taxes. He intends to use that revenue to forgive every student loan in the country, including all private and graduate school debt, and make all public universities tuition-free.  The problems with this doesn't take an economist to see.

The transaction taxes Bernie supports won’t generate enough to cover expenses. There are already think tanks setting the actual cost of Bernie’s college gambit at well over $3 trillion, and that’s on top of all the other “free shit” he’s promised. Then, there’s the fact that Wall Street will just pass the tax burden on to the consumer. Buying and selling will be more expensive, prices will go up, speculation will go down, and the overall market will be less robust. Wherever it lands in the economic chain, taxation always rests on the back of the end-user. Individuals will bear the burden, not some nameless, faceless, “Wall Street” exec.

And what about all the people who went to college, took out loans, and then worked hard to pay them off. If you did it the way you’re supposed to, Bernie’s plan is the biggest middle finger he could offer.

Like anything that’s given away for “free,” the value of having a college education will decline, and you’ll be the sucker who actually paid for the diploma that everyone else views as a handout. Maybe those of us who put blood, sweat, and tears into repaying student debt, only to see that work considered worthless by Bernie’s ‘revolution’,  should be offered reparations.

Senator Lizzy Tells Fox Where They Can Stick Their Town Hall

The floundering leaderless Democrats are still milling about like ants whose hill was stomped on by voters in 2016, and Senator Lizzy Warren has angrily posited that she will not lower herself, nor allow the largest cable news audience in the country a chance to swoon, together, at her professorsplaining her views and making it so easy for all of us to understand. She tweeted:

“I love town halls. I’ve done more than 70 since January, and I’m glad to have a television audience be a part of them. Fox News has invited me to do a town hall, but I’m turning them down—here’s why. Fox News is a hate-for-profit racket that gives a megaphone to racists and conspiracists—it’s designed to turn us against each other, risking life & death consequences, to provide cover for the corruption that’s rotting our government and hollowing out our middle class.”

I guess Lizzy hadn't heard of Bernie Sander's Fox town hall in Pennsylvania, which was a rousing ratings success and an opportunity to showcase how some of his staple commie issues like Medicare for All resonated with an audience in a state that help DJT over the top 2016.  Following Sanders TH, a number of  Dems are eager for their own hour of free air time and are in talks with the network about doing their own town halls. But Lizzy, Oh Hell No!

Not that a known liar spouting  failed radical liberal policies of  warmed over mutation of Barack Obama and the new far left that appeal to lily-white Democrats who consider themselves experts on knowing how poor people should run their lives would fly very well with a fox audience.

As far as calling Fox as a "megaphone to racists and conspiracists", I guess Lizzy can't get the the wall to wall 24/7 nutcase anti- Trump CNN programming (except when airplanes disappear) that includes the almost nightly pontificating of a panel of gay or black bigots spewing hateful nonsense, presided over by the dumbest man in cable news, Don Lemon.

Yet when confronted by his hypocrisy of taking a motorcade of SUVs with him to the gym every day, he states that his deserved luxury would be offset by making whoever the hell would remain on Pliskin's Island shiver and starve in the cold and dark. There's a scene towards the end of Woody Allen's Bananas where the rebel leader now installed as president of San Marcos gets a glassy look in his eye and starts rattling off new laws like "all citizens must now wear their underwear on the outside."

Democrat presidential candidates are flocking to New York City this week to seek the eventual political endorsement of a man who at one time was reviled for his part in one of America's most notorious race hoaxes. With the Democrats now having morphed into a racial and gender identity party, the clown car of 2020 hopefuls are making the pilgrimage to The National Action Network shindig in New York City where they will all line up to to kiss Al Sharpton's ass.

The coveted endorsement of one of the most despicable race baiters in history will be highly sought by the contestants vying for the nomination, and this is bad news for old white guys like Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders, with the clear advantage going to Kamala Harris and Spartacus Booker who share Sharpton’s melanin content if not his ideas. Reverend Al has made a career of racial incitement, once calling Jews ‘diamond merchants’ and described whites moving businesses into Harlem as ‘interlopers. But today's Dem candidates now show no shame consorting with a low life like Al Sharpton, who manufactured the Tawana Brawley racial hoax targeted at one man, stoked the Crown Heights riots against Jews, leading to a death, and helped initiate an arson at Freddie's Fashion Mart.

Beto O’Rourke has already appeared and dutifully emasculated himself before the mostly black audience, apologizing for his white privilege, being born rich and then married a billionaire’s daughter. He also began the parade of pandering for votes by saying if elected their president he would sign into law Shelia Jackson Lee's Slave Reparation Bill. This should be a real shit show to watch as the mostly white candidates now have to promise free stuff and beg like children in a Dicken's novel for the black vote they have so taken for granted all these years, and doing it while whimpering at the feet of none other than Al Sharpton!

Nadler & Co. Not the Only Committee Acting Like Stalinist

Bullet Head Now Wants To Investigate Why Media Did Not Publish a Story 

Even as the little fat man Nadler is demanding the Attorney General of the United States break the law for the purpose of his committee's grandstanding for the leftist droolers, according to Breibart, House Committee on Oversight and Reform chairman, Rep. Elijah "Bullet Head' Cummings (D-MD) is now bringing newsroom debate into his House Oversight Committee for investigation. He wrote to former Fox News reporter Diana Falzone demanding that she turn over any documents relating to Trump’s alleged extramarital affairs.

An article in the New Yorker last month alleged that Fox News executive Ken LaCorte spiked the story to protect Trump — a claim LaCorte has vehemently denied, saying the story lacked corroborating evidence and that the network was merely practicing responsible journalism, as were other outlets who declined the story. That article seems to have motivated Cummings’s letter — a letter that not only seeks personal dirt on the president, but seeks information that might be used to review Fox News’ editorial decisions.

The committee’s letter suggests that Fox News may have violated campaign finance rules if it tried to help Trump by suppressing the Daniels story. Falzone has said she will cooperate with the committee, despite an agreement with Fox that prevents her from speaking about the story.

In an op-ed at Mediaite, LaCorte says he supports Falzone’s desire to talk about the story publicly, but that he will refuse to cooperate with the committee’s effort to exercise oversight over the free press:

"Falzone’s lawyer announced that she would comply with the committee. I won’t. If House Oversight can launch an investigation based on the ridiculous notion that publishing, or even more bizarrely not publishing, a story can be construed as an in-kind campaign contribution, then no journalist in America is safe from government intimidation. 

It’s a vast overreach of power, and I won’t have any part of it. To be clear, I fully support Fox News lifting Falzone’s non-disclosure agreement so that she can make her case publicly, without leaks or lawyers. Intelligence Committee Members Call For Shitweasel to Resign

For two years now, Sleazy Shitweasel Adam Schiff (D-CA) has claimed he was sitting on incontrovertible evidence that the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians to steal the 2016 election. He has never delivered on his claim, and of course the media never called him to account for his bluster. But the pressure is on now, because the Mueller investigation is wrapped up and it didn't show any evidence of collusion. He claims the “direct evidence” of which he’s been in possession for two years is not Trump and Putin taking long walks on the beach or holding hands on the gold escalator of Trump Tower, just political opportunism  and his tin foil hat suspicions about what everyone else in the world already knows about. None of which is collusion. 

CBS -Every Republican on the House Intelligence Committee is calling on Chairman Adam Schiff to resign Thursday, accusing the California Democrat of weaving a "demonstrably false" narrative of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia and "undermining" the credibility of the panel. 

At a hearing Thursday, Republican Rep. Mike Conaway read a letter arguing Schiff has been "at the center of a well-orchestrated media campaign claiming, among other things, the Trump campaign colluded with the Russian government." 

"Your willingness to continue to promote a demonstrably false narrative is alarming," said the letter read by Conaway. "The findings of the Special Counsel conclusively refute your past and present assertions and have exposed you as having abused your position to knowingly promote false information, having damaged the integrity of this Committee, and undermined faith in U.S. government institutions." 

"We need to restore the trust in the Intelligence Committee," McCarthy said, accusing Schiff of lying and comparing him to the infamous Sen. Joe McCarthy. The minority leader also said he would not consider removing Committee Ranking Member Devin Nunes, who was widely criticized by Democrats during his time as chairman and had to step away from the committee Russia investigation, in return for Schiff's resignation. 

A visibly emotional Schiff, who did not know this broadside from Republicans was coming, had a strident response. At times raising his voice, he listed a litany of known and controversial interactions between the Trump campaign and Russia – including Donald Trump Jr.'s involvement in the Trump Tower meeting.

As we have said here before, it’s not illegal to seek dirt on your political opponent from a Sexy Russian lady. And there's no proof that even happened anyway. There is proof this happened though. Schiff's continued butt sniffing investigation of the president and his associates is an example of congressional overreach and political grandstanding and an unhealthy obsession. Do the right thing Adam, jump head first out of the nearest window.....

Spartacus Wants To Marry Some Ugly Chick In The WH

With the 2020 presidential hopeful clown car getting really crowded you have to think of something to make you stand out from the rest of the pack, something really special like eat with a comb or get a cute puppy or come out against circumcision, or maybe something much more fashionable like a Hispanic girlfriend.

Senator Spartacus took a brief detour from talking about politics to praise his new girlfriend, Rosario Dawson, on The Ellen Show and flirt with the possibility of a White House wedding. Booker told DeGeneres that Dawson has made him more “courageous” in the love that he projects and wants to see in the United States. He’s just a man in love. With himself.  And definitely it’s true love and definitely not a shameless ploy to look hip and with it and cool. I figure he was more a Caitlyn Jenner type.

While journalists may be on the “Beto Bus,” the ladies of The View certainly aren’t, (yet anyway.) The hosts dragged the newly announced 2020 candidate for his “white male privilege,” Monday, after he made a series of gaffes over the weekend. Goldberg began by pointing out O’Rourke had broken Bernie Sanders’ fundraising record before slamming him as a privileged white male.  

"Something I heard him say was he realized he was a guy with white privilege and so he also felt he needed a female to run with him. Well, my question is what makes you think she wants to be your vice president? Why would you think she needed to you do that? You have to be careful with privilege like that because things slip out of your mouth, so you got to really sort of clamp down before you open it and have foot inserted. It is funny to see the left eating their own over identity politics. Misgivings about Beto’s racial and chromosomal makeup were front and center on CNN’s New Day when they discovered that Democratic presidential hopeful was actually a white male, and they were not happy about it. The cable network went into race-baiting overdrive following the announcement of O’Rourke’s candidacy, airing hours of feverish handwringing over whether Beto’s “white maleness” rendered him an unacceptable choice for the Democratic Party nominee.

Beto also received this pushback from other CNN hosts, who slammed his “white male” status over 50 times in 24 hours, and from CBS This Morning host Gayle King, who asked the the in your face question, “Are you disadvantaged by being a privileged white man?

Funny thing, no one has yet questioned his sanity. This is gonna be so much fun to watch.......

In the newest attempt by the Left to grease the wheels for ridiculous environmental policy is the “racial gap” in air pollution. This is nothing more than the standard leftist emotional appeal to force their radicalism using guilt and by parading cultural marxism as a science. An article in USA Today , the McDonalds of News, claims that Blacks and Hispanics disproportionately breathe air that's been polluted by non-Hispanic whites, but let’s actually think about that data for a second.

The article focuses on pollution caused by “non-Hispanic whites” which happens to be 60% of the population, and how that majority of the population creates more pollution, in other words, more people have a larger effect than less people.  Yes, this is science according to the Left. This is how the Left will attempt to cede control of everything under the guise of equity, the claim being that because whites consume more they are more responsible for pollution, and since Hispanic and Black minorities live in urban areas which have far higher air pollution it must be white people’s fault. Even in the study the author admits that pollution has been greatly reduced, but they need to focus on the “racial inequity”, which is their pseudo-intellectual way of saying “we are actually reducing pollution, but I want radical policy changes so I’m going to make it racist”.

The rhetoric on environmental issues from the Left is as astounding as it is dishonest. When you hear the statements about how close we are to the brink of no return with global warming, ever hear them speak about stopping countries like China and India from pushing us over this supposed brink? That whites are responsible for pollution and it’s hurting brown people is now racist. It’s just as dumb as saying whites eat more bread, whites drive more cars, whites own more homes and making that a reason why the whites are somehow racist solely based on the fact that they are the majority. The only solution I can seem to find them suggesting is that whites need to stop being the majority and this will solve the problem.......

She's like a loose cannon, a bull in a China shop and stoned freshman at Berkeley free speech week all rolled into one. And now she's gone and stabbed the sacred cow of the the left, the Black Pearl himself, Barky Obama.

In an interview published at Politico, Omar ripped Obama, belittling his “pretty face” and saying his agenda of hope and change was an illusion. A pretty face who got away with murder. 

She cited the “caging of kids” at the Mexican border and the “droning of countries around the world” on Obama’s watch — and argued that he wasn’t much different from President Trump. 

"His policies are bad, but many of the people who came before him also had really bad policies. They just were more polished than he was.  We don’t want anybody to get away with murder because they are polished. We want to recognize the actual policies that are behind the pretty face and the smile. We can’t be only upset with Trump."

The comments about a man lionized by Democrats were only the latest in a series of incendiary statements that have put the national spotlight on Omar, a Somali Muslim. Omar — along with Rashida Tlaib of Michigan the first Muslim women in Congress — said she’s willing to keep speaking out and be a Republican punching bag if it helps advance her agenda, a prospect that likely makes many of her fellow Democrats cringe.

At Least We Have Hope Now She Won't Be Breeding Any Little Leftist Idiots

Between adjusting her britches and wielding a large knife while discussing why she believes her little commie Green New Deal that has been called impractical by some and laughed at by others is so important during an Instagram live from her new swanky DC apartment on Sunday, Alexandra Ocashew-Cortex questioned whether people should just stop having children because of climate change.

“This idea that I’ve been working on this for x-amount of years, um, it’s like not good enough. Like we need a universal sense of urgency and people are like trying to introduce watered-down proposals that are frankly going to kill us. A lack of urgency is going to kill us. 

Our planet is going to hit disaster if we don’t turn this ship around and so it’s basically like there’s a scientific consensus that the lives of children are going to be very difficult, and it does lead, I think, young people to have a legitimate question, you know,  Is it okay to still have children? 

Financially, because people are graduating $20-, $30-, a $100,000-worth of student loan debt, so they can’t even afford to have kids in a house. Also this basic moral question, what do we do?”

I would laugh, but there are people who are actually listening to and taking seriously this imbecile. And while it might seem to be a good thing reducing them from the gene pool, in her case I whole-heartily agree. But what really would happen is that depopulism would enter the zeitgeist to our country's ruin. My run of enjoying her idiocy is about over. This woman is dangerous.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi was appointed the honorary 'President of the Rio Grande' by the mayor of Laredo Texas, Pete Saenz, during a ceremony in Laredo on Friday. The Mayor explained to the crowd that before joining the United States, Laredo was the Capitol of the Republic of the Rio Grande.

“While the Republic was short-lived, ten months in all, we still have that spirit of freedom.  So, it’s my honor, Madam Speaker, to present to you the keys of our city but also to be the honorary president of the Republic of the Rio Grande.”

Saenz then presented Pelosi with a key to the city and a framed proclamation. “Hey, we have a woman president,” Pelosi said and called the honor “unfathomable,” adding that she would display the proclamation in the Speaker’s office with “great pride.”

Now I find it a bit ironic, as I'm sure my many Texan friends will too, that Pelosi is given such an honor seeing the The Republic of The Rio Grande was an attempt at independence from Mexico that was brutally put down by a controlling authoritarian government, you know, the kind that Pelosi and her minions represent, or that Pelosi was honored for anything at all inside the borders of the Great State of Texas. But, here we are.

Dems Reach New Heights of 'Magical Thinking'

What's with the left? Why have they so abandoned logic and reason that not only do they contradict virtually everything they stood for just ten years ago, their spokespeople having gone so far off the deep end as to embrace the incoherent proposals of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and to encourage the extraordinarily bizarre and increasingly hysterical narrative of Jussie Smollett? It is as if the Democratic Party has decided, once and for all, to adopt the psychological concept of "Magical Thinking" as its modus vivendi.

Democrats have been headed in the direction of magical thinking for some time and, in fact, have been well over the line since the advent of Trump. Remember, moments after the inauguration, thousands of women marching through the streets of our major cities wearing pudenda hats because something terrible was about to happen to their sex? Nothing did. That was only the beginning. Calling this Trump Derangement Syndrome is an understatement because it's more psychologically disturbing than a mere political catchphrase can capture. With Smollett and AOC, this actual psychopathology -- because that's what it is -- has reached new heights, in an apotheosis of magical thinking.

In the case of Smollett, it was not only assumed his "attack" was a "hate crime," it was actively wished for as such. Many on the left seriously willed it to be hate to validate their imaginary (i. e. magical) conception of the other side as evil and racist.

In the case of AOC, her Seventh-day Adventist-style "end times" warning of a world ending in twelve years should have been met with a bit of skepticism. There are useful idiots in every generation and doubtless always will be. What is scary is how many people want to believe her, how many are so invested in this form of magical thinking they are willing to abandon their critical faculties.

The media themselves are enmeshed in their own version of magical thinking. The Smollett affair burst on the scene only days after the supposed racism of the Catholic boys against a Native American was disproven, but that message was apparently forgotten in an instant, assuming it was ever received. But the left may have gone so far into the magical realm this time that the old silent majority, what Kurt Schlichter calls "the Normals," may be shaking their heads and starting to act.
