NYC Mayor’s Program Offers Gift Cards to Defendants for Taking 

Courtroom Friendliness Survey

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio  has an $800,000 program in place that uses taxpayer money to pay criminal suspects and court defendants with gift cards in exchange for taking a survey about the friendliness and comfort of Manhattan’s courtrooms and NYC criminal Justice system, the New York Post reported.

The survey asks participants to rate the courteousness of judges and prosecutors — and even courtroom temperature. Those who complete the 144-question survey get a $15 Dunkin’ Donuts gift card. The program is from the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice. The revelation comes on the heels of an October report that inmates at Riker’s Island prison were given pizza parties in exchange for not fighting.  

So how New Yorkers feel about the program? 

* (must be read with New York accent) “Once again, the mayor wants to appease the criminals at taxpayers’ expense,” a source in the city’s police department told the Post. “Next thing they’ll be giving out Macy’s cards so these perps could do their holiday shopping.”  The Post also quoted a “high-ranking NYPD source” who said de Blasio’s gift-card reward “crazy,” adding that appearing in court “isn’t supposed to be fun. You want these people not to want this to happen again." 

Michael Palladino, president of the NYPD detectives union, told the Post that defendants getting gift cards is like “a nice Christmas present for our participants in the criminal-justice system. It’s not supposed to be a positive experience to get locked up or get a summons.”  Ed Mullins, president of the sergeants union, recalled to the paper the “long-standing statement that crime doesn’t pay. We’ve now proved it does. It now pays for a $15 Dunkin’ Donuts card. Maybe we can give them confiscated firearms, too. Where is this coming from?  We’re all singing Kumbaya together?"

Dennis Quirk, president of the Court Officers Association told the paper he’s insulted by the idea that defendants are essentially grading court officials on their job performance. "Maybe it’s time we process criminals over tea and biscuits. Next, City Hall is going to want us to hand out ice cream cones and candy bars."

But court defendant Juan Cruz, who the Post said was up against a “bullcrap misdemeanor charge,” seemed pleased with his reward: “I told them I’ve been here too many times to not understand the process. But hey, got me a doughnut and cup of coffee when I get out of here.” 

And how did the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice respond? The gift cards are “compensation” for the participants’ time in completing the survey, and the cost was a “minuscule” part of the overall budget, one official told the paper. 

When $800,000 is considered "minuscule", that my friend should tell you just what civil servants think of you as a taxpayer and the worth of our sweat they extort daily.

A hospital spokesman responded to Mrs. Pelosi's claims saying "Your husband was admitted to have cataract surgery. All we did was correct his eyesight."

Dear Hollywood: Don’t Ever Lecture America Again

People of my age probably know “Welcome to the Jungle” by Guns and Roses pretty well. The song is about Hollywood and the ugly side most people don’t think about.

And this isn’t in any way a new thing. Hollywood has always been a dark place, pretty much from the beginning. But it does seem that the high school popularity contest taken to the adult level has gotten worse with its preaching to the “deplorables” on the other side of the San Gabriel Mountains. It honestly thinks it has a duty to guide American culture and the country’s collective morality. That Hollywood thinks this is just indicative of how completely nuts the place has gone.

Don’t preach to us anymore Hollywood. There is a reason fewer people are watching your movies and it’s not JUST because you aren’t putting out anything good. You wish. America, in very large part is just moving on. People used to care about the Oscars. Now they don’t – or at least many more don’t these days. Many people are coming to realize that the product Hollywood sells, a Kardashian world, is bankrupt increasingly in every sense. It’s a waste of time. Hollywood has had it good for so long that it has forgotten that its not an industry like energy, or farming. It’s a luxury item. Hollywood is paid to entertain. If yet another CGIed up Marvel comic book movie doesn’t come out the world will go on. In fact if Hollywood just went away completely the world would go on.  

Hollywood seems to hold its customers in contempt. This is not a good strategy for an industry of actors and jugglers. All Americans have to do is just turn off the TV, or stop going to the movies. (Something more and more of us are doing anyway.) Just ask the NFL how it feels.

Standing Up to Pee Gives Boys an Unfair Advantage in Physics

PJM - Yes, you read the headline correctly. In the latest example of identity politics taken to its absurd end, three Australian college professors believe that "playful urination practices may give boys an advantage over girls when it comes to understanding physics."

The three professors didn't publish their thoughts on a satirical website like The Onion.  They published on Tes, a website that provides "educational materials, jobs, news, and courses from the world's best community of teachers and school leaders."

In the article entitled "Taking the pee out of physics: how boys are getting a leg-up", Anna Wilson, Kate Wilson, and David Low argue with a straight face that peeing standing up provides an advantage for boys over girls. Explaining what prompted their conclusion about the advantages peeing standing up gives boys, the professors write,

"The gender gap in physics, and other related subjects including engineering, has long been a cause for concern."

After casually going through a list of possible explanations for why young women might not perform as well in physics as do young men — things like lack of female physics teachers, cultural pressure and expectations, and gender bias in the teaching materials — they conclude: "there may be another reason, too." 

The Age Old Secret of Patriarchal Dominance - The Projectile Arc

After noting that girls lag in areas of physics that deal with projectile motion, the article reveals:

"Like many parents of small (and not-so-small) boys, two of us (KW and DL) have observed the great delight young males take in urination, a process by which they produce and direct a visible projectile arc." 

Laying further groundwork for the assertion that standing up to pee aids in learning physics, the three detail the ways in which peeing standing up is a central yet fun part of the male life:

"The fact that boys (and men) play with their ability to projectile pee is hardly contentious. Boys are trained to pee into toilet bowls with floating targets, a huge variety of which can be bought on Amazon; Amsterdam Airport Schiphol famously cleaned up its urinals by encouraging men to hit flies etched next to the drain. 

All this is experienced up to five times a day, so by 14, boys have had the opportunity to play with projectile motion around 10,000 times. And 14 is when many children meet formalized physics in the form of projectile motion and Newton’s equations of motion for the first time."

So according to the three esteemed college professors, peeing standing up is not only a "delightful" activity for boys (who I have been told take to an entirely different level of activity on a regular basis as they get older) but also gives boys an intellectual advantage over girls also.  But to their credit they do acknowledge that "there is no simple way to provide girls with the same opportunities for exploring projectile motion" that boys have. While the authors of the article don't propose it, in today's world it may not be a stretch to assume that the next step for progressives pursuit of equality and social justice on college campus would be to make it illegal for men to pee standing up.....

Dems Are Plotting Against Nan!!

According to Politico, a handful of Democrats met in private to discuss the future of Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi after the disastrous Special election many hoped would demonstrate the electorate had begun to turn on Donald Trump.  Democrats are getting nervous as to whether their hopes to retake the House from the Republicans would be endangered if Pelosi was still leading their out-of-tune band. Pelosi yesterday in an embarrassing news conference stumbled through her accomplishments, saying, "I’m a master legislator. I am a strategic... politically astute leader. … My leadership is recognized by many around the country, and that is why I’m able to attract the support that I do.” Yeah, She told Um!

And I agree. I think the dems should keep Nan as their leader. After all, she represents everything the dems stand for. And she comes from good dem stock. Her Father and brother both ruled over Baltimore as Mayor, and we know how wonderful a  bastion of democrat principles it became. And she represents San Francisco, where visitors can witness all the diversity and cultural enrichment the dems love to promote. 

Visitors to her district home can wittiness the likes of  a live-action Night of the Living Dead starring hammer-wielding illegal alien homeless people, a locale now as devoid of children as any Ayn Rand novel, nice Victorian homes boasting the ugliest prices of any major market and a sad anti-Happy Meal ordinance, store clerks charging customers extra money for a grocery bag, and grant permits for public parades featuring guys with feather dusters stickin' out their butts! 

Yes my friends, we should all encourage the House democrats to keep Nancy as their politically astute leader. Some in America need to occasionally be reminded of just what the dems are, and what they stand for. And who better to be their standard bearer?

So......When Will the Left Begin Policing Itself??

The Left has been calling for unprecedented levels of “Resistance”. This includes even the Former Attorney General of the United States, Loretta Lynch, calling for “blood in the streets”.  David Simon, the writer for the television show 'The Wire', urged people to “pick up a brick”.  Film producer Paul Schrader wrote, “I believe this is a call to violence” 

Angry lesbian Lea DeLaria of “Orange Is the New Black” proclaimed that she was ready to “pick up a baseball bat and take out every f–kin republican and independent I see.”  Even Hillary's running mate Tim Kaine urged people to “fight in the streets”. Protestors have called for violence against Trump and the Republicans as part of their rhetoric, even before Trump had taken the oath of office. Colleges students have been passing out fliers calling for violence against Trump and his administration.

Vox published a call to violently riot in protest of a Trump visit. The City of Berkeley let the AntiFa protestors begin a street fight and riot in order to silence a pro-Trump speaker. The Huffington Post, lets not forget, published an article stating that violence was a good response to Trump - and this before he was even the official nominee. The author even said it was a logical response to Trump. Kathy Griffin… you can make up your mind if that was a call for violence or an approval of the sentiment, but in the end, its the same thing. And there's Snoop Dog and his video executing the president. There’s been others. There continue to be others.

The Left has bred this problem. The Left has allowed this problem to grow. The Left (Democrats, Hillary supporters, Bernie Bros, Antifas et al.) must tone down their repeated calls for violence. Otherwise, what happened yesterday is only going to be the least of what will happen. Calling for violence because your side lost an election, when the systems and processes for peaceful change still exist, is not acceptable!!  But if you insist on violence, you will most certainly lose.........

James Hodgkinson: Primed By Hate, Triggered By the Media

It comes as no surprise to me that after months of media drum banging, comedians portrayed holding a severed head and plays depicting political assassinations, etc... that someone on the left would go over the edge. James Hodgkinson, the Belleville man accused of shooting at congressmen and aides during practice for a congressional baseball game today, had written a number of letters over the years to the editor of the Belleville News-Democrat. In them, he often railed against hateful Republicans and tax policies.

He seemed obsessed about income equality. He was a fan of little left-wing midget Professor Robert Reich and his pseudo-socialist economics, who has recently stopped just short of calling for violence resistance. And no surprise either, he is a big fan of Ricky Maddow and his progtard friends at MSNBC riding their popular anti-Trump media wave of fake news exploitation.

Making America Fit Again: Anti-Trump Aerobics

Nothing coming out of San Francisco should come as a surprise to anyone. This little bit of nonsense should be no different. The Alley Cat Book Store, located in the San Francisco's Mission District, is ordinarily a quiet space for book lovers to peruse multicolored shelves for their next literary adventure. But on Sunday, the small bookstore buzzed with energy as a group of leggings-clad Bay Area residents protested Donald Trump's presidency in the form of a sweaty cardio workout.

"We are here because in this era, in this nation, we need to use our full bodies to resist fascism!" cried Margaret McCarthy, one of two organizers of the event. "This is a wonderful example of bringing levity and community to the resistance," said Vanessa Schneider, an aerobics participant, before the session. "I really hope it includes some of Trump's specific movements, so I can expand my repertoire of gestures."

McCarthy, a performance artist, and Liat Berdugo, an artist, writer, and assistant professor at the University of San Francisco, led the attendees in an uproarious routine involving Democratic-blue sweatbands, Trumpian red ties, and rhythmic slogans: 

"Don't buy Ivanka's shoes!" McCarthy called out, marching to the beat. "Don't buy Ivanka's shoes!" the participants echoed. "Fuck Mar-a-Lago!" she continued, swinging a tielike a golf club. "Fuck Mar-a-Lago!" they mimicked. "Don't read his tweets," Berdugo said in hushed voice, using the tie to shield her eyes. Each new slogan ended with cheers and whoops. As the session wound down, McCarthy and Berdugo asked each participant to knot their red ties together to form a large circle.

The group assembled for a rigorous hour of Anti-Trump Aerobics as the final event in an artist- and activist-organized series called 100 Days Action. The calendar of events, which kicked off on January 20 with an Inaugural Ball, responded tit-for-tat to the Trump administration's activities in its first 100 days. 

Events included Hats for Science, where participants knitted caps for the Science March, and Black Lives Matter at ATA, a film night about racial justice in honor of Black History Month. The night before the aerobics event, the collective also threw a 100 Days No Ban Dance Party, featuring music from the seven countries targeted in Trump's blocked travel ban. Saul Alinksy's "Rules for Radicals," published at the height of the counterculture movement, has long been required reading for community organizers on the left worldwide. It inspired activists with the labor movements, Occupy Wall Street, and Black Lives Matter as well as the European communist movement in France and Spain.

A young Ma Clinton wrote her senior thesis on Alinsky and fawningly corresponded with him.  Alinsky's Rules for Radicals is like Antifa's Quran. They tend to follow his rules explicitly and inflexibly. But recently Alinsky has drawn a less likely group of devotees. The Right.  

So, Why Not turn them back against them?

The whole idea of having Trump/free speech rallies in Berkeley is of historic nature. In 1968 the free speech movement happened in Berkeley to support communism. Now it is happening again in 2017 to support anti-communism / pro American ideals, in hostile territory.

Though most of Alinsky's keyboard warriors on the left continue to claim to eschew violence and laud, as he did, the passive resistance techniques of Mahatma Gandhi and the Civil Rights movement. His writings are not necessarily inconsistent with the antifa's embrace of recent street battles. "The future does not argue for making a special religion of nonviolence," he wrote. "It will be remembered for what it was, the best tactic for its time and place."

Parents are drawn to the method as a way of preserving the environment from the ravages of disposable diapers, as well as reducing the laundering of cloth diapers and preventing diaper rash.

Many of them like the thought that they are rediscovering an ancient practice used in other cultures, though they tend to gloss over the fact that many of those cultures had never heard of Pampers...."

The Midget Climbs Up Into Maxine Waters Territory

It's a bit scary when a supposed learned Professor and former Presidential Cabinet Member lowers himself (in this case climbs up) to the rhetorical level of crazy-ass Maxine Waters. But that's just what Robert Reich seems to have done. In a recent column Reich lays out his reasons Donald Trump should be impeached. And only after a little over two months in office. Let's take a look at the good Doctor's reasoning, shall we........

"By my count, there are now four grounds to impeach Donald Trump. The fifth appears to be on its way. 

First, in taking the oath of office, a president promises to “faithfully execute the laws & the constitution.” That’s Article II Section 2. But Trump is unfaithfully executing his duties as president by accusing his predecessor, president Obama, of undertaking an illegal and impeachable act, with absolutely no evidence to support the accusation."

No evidence, Huh? You who yell about the Russian thing with no creditable evidence. Maybe you should keep your eyes on the news. The actions taken by your boy Barky at the end of his administration, along with the Susan Rice investigation may just yet have you and a lot of lefties wiping egg off your face. The Obama Administration will long be known for it's scandals, scandals you turned a blind eye to in your partisanship. 

The president also swears to Protect and Defend the Constitution Against Enemies, Both Foreign and Domestic. Of course, no matter what truth comes out I'm sure you will deny it as propaganda of the far right..........and with absolutely no evidence to support the accusation.

Bob, Mr. Trump, like all presidents, have put his personal interest into trust. And Trump's interest are run by his children while in office. Sure he will eventually gain from it, just as every private citizen/former president does. I don't remember you having a problem with Barky raking in the big buck residuals from his books while in office......hmmm. Elected as a backbench senator, he left office a multi-millionaire.

As for the Chinese trademark deal, it was a decade old request and the decision to rule in Trump’s favor predates his election as president.  You know, the election no one believed he could win.

Least we forget, Bob, the list of concerned countries that the Trump administration outlined in the executive order was based on the one signed into law in Dec. 2015 by the former Obama administration. And for the same reason, anti-terrorism! Where were you and your ACLU cohorts then?  

"Fourth: The 1st Amendment also bars “abridging the freedom of the press.” But Trump’s labeling the press “the enemy of the people,” and choosing who he invites to news conferences based on whether they’ve given him favorable coverage, violates this provision."

The press has indeed become a threat to America. They refuse to tell the truth and actively protect corrupt politicians. They are a tradition. If a news agency is there to ask tough questions so be it. But to lie about, or twist the words of the administration policy or just to be instigators, they themselves dampen the whole free press' abilities to report the truth, and the president to effectively speak to the nation.
