The Killing of Cops and Other Footnotes in History

Now that it has been reported that Ferguson Police officer Darren Wilson suffered a serious injury during his confrontation with Michael Brown, and breaking news that his companion Dorian Johnson recanted his media statement, along with the revelations of numerous eyewitness seem to confirm the police account of events are making more and more observers draw an increasingly likely conclusion:

On that fateful Saturday, August 9, Officer Wilson was trying to avoid becoming what cops too often do. A statistic.

“On average, one law enforcement officer is killed in the line of duty somewhere in the United States every 58 hours,” writes the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. Yet they don’t receive ultimate attention. That’s reserved for the likes of Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin, and Mumia Abu-Jamal — the last of whom murdered a Philadelphia police officer named Daniel Faulkner in 1981.

The reality is that if Brown had killed Officer Wilson 10 days ago, it just would have been a footnote in the news. No high profile racial bias investigation by the DOJ. No intervention by the Attorney General.

Columnist and former Dade County Sheriff s Office police captain Frank Marshall cites three recent deaths:
• July 13th. Detective Melvin Santiago, 23, Jersey City P.D., New Jersey. Ambushed when responding to a robbery call. Killed because he was a cop. Suspect is a black male who was killed on the scene. The suspect’s wife said that more cops should have been killed.
• July 6th. Officer Jeffery Westerfield, 47, Gary Police Department, Indiana. Responded to a domestic disturbance call. He was ambushed, shot in his patrol car as he arrived. Killed on his 47th birthday, he leaves behind four daughters. Another loyal, American officer… killed for being a cop. Suspect was a black male.
• July 5th. Officer Perry Renn, 51, Indianapolis P.D., Indiana. Answered a call about shots being fired in the area. Shot as he arrived. Officer Renn was also an U.S. Army veteran. Killed because he was a cop. Suspect was a black male.
Marshall also adds further perspective:
“At least 120 to 180 officers a year are killed in the line of duty. In 2014, the death toll is on track toward 130 dead officers. Half of those have been killed by gunfire. Most of those are killed because they were a cop. Why don’t we label that bigotry? Hate crime?”
Statistically, 94 percent of all black homicide victims are killed by other blacks, and black Americans are more likely to shoot whites than whites are to shoot blacks. This makes white-on-black homicide a man-bites-dog story relatively speaking, yet that isn’t why the media afford such cases disproportionate coverage. Rather, we’re supposed to believe they are cases of dog bites man — and that the media is the dog catcher.

Leftists Flip Out As University Replaces Gender Studies With Founding Documents Center

Students, faculty, and alumni of the University of South Carolina are outraged and spitting mad over the university's decision to drop a gender studies center that teaches, among other things, how to become a lesbian in 10 days, in favor of an American Founding Documents Study Center.

Leftists are not only claiming it's  un-American to change the center, but the founding documents are not really relevant in the real world. However, somehow learning to become a lesbian in under two weeks apparently is.

FrontPage Mag
"The Center for Women’s and Gender Studies (CWGS) at the University of South Carolina Upstate (USCU) will close on July 1 and the funding, previously allocated for CWGS, will be used to teach the Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and Federalist Papers....."
"The Morning News editorialized that this was “A chilling act of retribution” and “Required reading programs serve several purposes. Most importantly, though, the programs are intended to prepare students for the expectations of college-level discourse and open them up for the diversity they’ll find both on campus and in the real world...."
"The move puts South Carolina colleges back in compliance with a 90-year-old state law which requires colleges to teach students a year’s worth of courses on the nation’s founding documents."
Just so you understand, the Morning News’ official editorial is insisting that knowing the Bill of Rights is irrelevant to “college level discourse” and the real world.

A circulating petition signatures against the move sound even crazier:
Thomas Davies WOODRUFF, SC
"As an alumni, a non-traditional student, and a straight, white, older man, I can’t say enough about how my participation in WGS courses and the Center, changed my life for the better. Because enlightenment comes slowly to some outside academia, students, faculty, and staff need this resource. We cannot let an american Taliban rule our institutions of learning."

Liberals' Dark Ages

"Welcome to the Dark Ages, Part II. We have slipped into an age of un-enlightenment where you fall in line behind the mob or face the consequences.
How ironic that the persecutors this time around are the so-called intellectuals. They claim to be liberal while behaving as anything but. The touchstone of liberalism is tolerance of differing ideas. Yet this mob exists to enforce conformity of thought and to delegitimize any dissent from its sanctioned worldview. Intolerance is its calling card.
Each week seems to bring another incident. ...
Don't bother trying to make sense of what beliefs are permitted and which ones will get you strung up in the town square. ...
As the mob gleefully destroys people's lives, its members haven't stopped to ask themselves a basic question: What happens when they come for me? If history is any guide, that's how these things usually end."  Kirsten Powers, USA TODAY

The Reinvigorated Thought Police

In the space of just a few weeks, the quality of American freedom has been cheapened and its future made uncertain by a renewed assault of left-wingers bent on having their own way and running roughshod over all other opinions in the process.

This intolerance is political. It is issue-driven. It is meant to ensure a leftist agenda prevails despite legality, logic or popular support. They often exaggerate their claims of support by quoting phony polls and statistics said to reinforce their views.

Despite liberal declarations in 2008 that America was entering a “post-racial” era, the race card seems to be played more than every. Free speech through political contributions (from conservatives, at least) is under fire even though the U.S. Supreme Court, for one, continues to invalidate onerous campaign finance restrictions.
Americans who have spoken out on the issues of traditional marriage have found themselves attacked, protested and forced out of public and private positions they have earned on merit because they dare to hold views counter to the mob.

These leftist have sought to imprint their opinions on America through the media, public institutions and schools. Anyone who is found to hold beliefs counter to theirs are smeared as racist, traditionalist, sexist or homophobic because what this evil minority has not yet been able to do is stop the exchange of ideas that Americans have come to appreciate and is still guaranteed by our Constitution.

How Do They Now Hide Their Embarrassment?

The Masters attained self awareness in the first years of the 21st century.  Decades of the efforts of the ones who had gone before had borne fruit, and the transformation had begun.  As planned, the plague that was Political Correctness had run amok in the land, and they had decided that sufficient numbers of the people were willing to abandon their heritage of Freedom, yielding to the plans of those who now had seized power.  Clamoring for gifts of entitlements from the Nation's treasure, they had shown their willingness to subordinate themselves to the government's rule. For years the Masters had sought someone who could serve as their figurehead, a man of undisclosed origins who would do their bidding.  They had found such a man, vacant, without principle, someone detached from, and hostile to, the institutions that had sustained the Nation since it's founding.

The people, turning a blind eye to reality, had proven they were now ready to elect such a man, and this final act of self deception was proof to the Masters that the time had come.

In the year 2008 they succeeded in their attempts to place their lackey in the seat of the Nation's highest office, and thus began the final stages of their assault on the Constitutional Republic which stood in the way of their ultimate goal. A huge bureaucratic force had been built up over the years, and their vast array of regulations had become confused with the force of laws.  These interconnected bureaucracies, all financed with the people's money, would now be greatly enlarged, accountable to the Masters lackey. And by his enablers, the people would be told "it is good."

"He had a free hand to make a mess because they gave it to him. They cheered him on, supporting him with unprecedented gobs of money and near-unanimous votes. They said “aye” to any cockamamie concept he came up with, echoed his demonization of critics and helped steamroll unpopular and unworkable ideas into reality. Some of his backers knew better, and said so privately, but publicly they were all in.
A king is no king without a court, and he has not lacked for lackeys. The system of checks and balances is written into the Constitution, but it is the everyday behavior of Americans of good will that makes the system work.
That he is now the imperial president he used to bemoan is no longer in dispute. The milking of perks, from golf trips to Florida to European vacations for the first lady, is shockingly vulgar, but not a peep of protest comes from his supporters.
The IRS becomes a political enforcer, but that, too, is accepted because nobody will risk their access by telling him no. You are either with him or you are his enemy.
The evidence is everywhere that his ideas are flawed, that his view of economics, diplomacy, the military, history, science and religion are warped by his own narcissism. He doesn’t even talk a good game anymore.
It is equally clear that those who shielded him from facts and their own best judgment did him no favors. Out of fear and favor, they abdicated their duty to the nation, and they must share the burden of history’s verdict. After all, America’s decline happened on their watch, too."

Bucking Liberal Groupthink Can Be Dangerous.

What happens when liberals turn on their own
Bizpac

It's the lesson poll analyst and former lib wunderkind Nate Silver is learning now that he’s left the protective cocoon of The New York Times to launch an independent website that’s already gored two sacred cows of the Obama Era: the political climate of the American electorate and the political poison of “climate change.”

In “Nate Silver, trashed over climate change, apologizes on his website,” Fox News media analyst Howard Kurtz on Monday outlined the recent attack on Silver by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

Silver dared to publish his estimate that Senate Dems at the moment have a good chance of losing their majority this fall – which would mean Reid has a better-than-average chance of getting shoved into a minority role come January. The way Reid, the former boxer from Nevada, came out swinging, you’d have thought Silver’s changed his last name to Koch.

“All polls are about like Nate Silver’s predictions: good sometimes, bad most of the time,” Reid said.

But that’s just politics – and it’s just Harry Reid.

When Silver’s website hit the libs’ PC religion of “climate change,” the storm really hit. A fairly common-sense March 19 piece that said weather disasters these days are more costly mainly because they’re hitting more expensive real estate, not because the climate’s getting worse – had the libs up in arms.

By Friday, Silver had backed down.

“Reception to the article ran about 80 percent negative in the comments section and on social media,” he wrote. “A reaction like that compels us to think carefully about the piece and our editorial process.”

And when any publication, a website, a newspaper or a church bulletin pledges to “think carefully about our editorial process” it means it’s thinking carefully about how it’s going to avoid making so many people so mad again. And judging the value of a piece by the numerical reaction — “80 percent negative in the comments section” — isn’t editing. It’s mob rule.

And nothing makes lib mobs madder than independent thought.

Homopocrisy

Homopocrisy - the false profession of desirable or publicly approved qualities, beliefs, or feelings, esp. a pretense of having virtues, moral principles, or beliefs. (The Middle Finger Somewhat Concise Dictionary - Vol.II)

OH..OH wait. I thought you called people who refused.......Oh never mind.

New York Daily News
"New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez needs a new hairdresser — or a new stance on gay marriage. Martinez was recently dropped by her hair stylist, Antonio Darden, who is gay.
Darden told a local news station that he cut the governor’s hair three times, but won’t do it again as long as she continues to oppose gay marriage. “The governor’s aides called not too long ago, wanting another appointment to come in,” he told KOB-TV. “Because of her stances and her views on this, I told her aides no. They called the next day, asking if I’d changed my mind about taking the governor in and I said no.”
Martinez has said she believes marriage should be between a man and woman. Darden, a popular stylist in Santa Fe and the owner of Antonio’s Hair Studio, has been with his partner for 15 years.
“It’s just equality, dignity for everyone,” he said. “Everybody should be allowed the right to be together.”
Gay marriage is not recognized in New Mexico."

Leading Purveyor of Violent Movies Plans Anti-NRA Drama

Hollywood Hypocrisy

After making millions giving America a plethora of senselessly violent movies, film producer and studio executive, Harvey Weinstein, producer of such violent films as Reservoir Dogs,  Pulp Fiction,  Jackie Brown,  Kill Bill and Django Unchained announced on Howard Stern’s radio show that he and actress Meryl Streep are to make a full feature drama to try to destroy the National Rifle Association.

Weinstein: Mucho Dollars But Short on Sense
"Mr. Stern asked Mr. Weinstein on Wednesday whether he owned a gun. The Hollywood heavyweight replied that he did not and never would. “I don’t think we need guns in this country. And I hate it,” the producer said. “I think the NRA is a disaster area.”
Mr. Weinstein then revealed his secret project about the gun rights group. “I shouldn’t say this, but I’ll tell it to you, Howard,” he said. “I’m going to make a movie with Meryl Streep, and we’re going to take this head-on. And they’re going to wish they weren’t alive after I’m done with them.”
The shock jock asked whether the film was going to be a documentary. Mr. Weinstein said no, that it would be a “big movie like a ‘Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.’”
The movie mogul said his vision was to scare people away from firearms. He foresees moviegoers to leave thinking, “Gun stocks — I don’t want to be involved in that stuff. It’s going to be like crash and burn.”
Weinstein thinks guns are necessary for self-defense, but only in other countries, during genocides and if the weapon is not personally owned."
The chairman of the Weinstein Co. (formerly Miramax) is one of President Obama’s biggest fundraisers. He brought in more than $500,000 from his Hollywood friends for the president’s re-election campaign and the Democratic National Committee in 2012."

Keep em stupid in the name of Political Correctness

DOJ Sues the State of Louisiana

Seems Big Brother and the Holder Company have nothing else to do these days except interrupt the progress a solid RED STATE is making to improve it's citizen education possibilities. Mr. holder must still think it's 1964, and would do better by going after say.....obvious voter fraud ......or maybe prosecuting civil rights violation involving REAL racially motivated incidents that seems to be plentiful these days.....oh wait....

N.O. Times Picayune
"The U.S. Justice Department is suing Louisiana in New Orleans federal court to block 2014-15 vouchers for students in public school systems that are under federal desegregation orders. The first year of private school vouchers "impeded the desegregation process," the federal government says.
The statewide voucher program, officially called the Louisiana Scholarship Program, lets low-income students in public schools graded C, D or F attend private schools at state taxpayer expense. The Justice Department's primary argument is that letting students leave for vouchered private schools can disrupt the racial balance in public school systems that desegregation orders are meant to protect. Those orders almost always set rules for student transfers with the school system.
Thirty-four school systems could be affected, including those of Jefferson, Plaquemines, St. John the Baptist and St. Tammany parishes. Under the lawsuit, the state would be barred from assigning students in those systems to private schools unless a federal judge agreed to it....."
In Tangipahoa Parish, for instance, Independence Elementary School lost five white students to voucher schools, the petition states. The consequent change in the percent of enrolled white students "reinforc(ed) the racial identity of the school as a black school."

HOLY SH*T, five cracker kids get vouchers and a chance at a better education that their parent's tax money pays for and all of a sudden we have a FEDERAL CASE!  Guess it doesn't matter that some of those kids in that same school might be half white?

Mr. Holder, the country is full of corrupt politicians, people defrauding the federal government out of billions a year, and the streets of America are full of racist scumbags causing trouble like attacking elderly war veterans, and you see fit to go after a STATES public education improvements? We all know the teacher's union leads the fight against vouchers.....being led around by the ring in your nose, eh Eric?

You, Mr. Holder (your boss aside) are the best example and crowning achievement of that failed institution known as affirmative action.

........you and the horse you rode in on!

Quite possibly the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.

The First Street Journal

New Mexico Supreme Court ruling:
Non-English speakers have right to serve as jurors
Associated Press - The New Mexico Supreme Court is cautioning trial courts and lawyers in the heavily Hispanic state that citizens who don’t speak English have the right to serve on juries — a right enshrined in the state constitution even if people are non-English speakers.
The court issued the admonition Monday in a unanimous ruling that upholds an Albuquerque man’s convictions for murder and other crimes in the 2004 bludgeoning death of his girlfriend and a subsequent armed robbery and stabbing.
Michael Anthony Samora’s appeal argued that his convictions should be reversed because a Bernalillo County judge excused a Spanish-speaking prospective juror who had trouble understanding English.
The Supreme Court said it agrees with that argument but also said Samora’s defense needed to object during the trial but didn’t. The ruling told trial judges and lawyers that they “have a shared responsibility to make every reasonable effort to protect the right of our non-English speaking citizens to serve on New Mexico juries.”
"In the United States, trials are conducted in English. The questions asked by the attorneys are in English, the testimony given by the witnesses is in English, and the judge’s instructions are given in English. There may be instances where a witness simply does not speak very good English, and has to be questioned through an interpreter, and that places a burden on justice, not only for the costs of the interpreter, but on he jury in trying to measure inflection and meaning from a witness’ testimony they may not understand, and can hear only through an interpreter.

But the notion that the state would have to present an entire trial, and every bit of attorney questioning, witness responses, and judicial instructions through the filter of an interpreter? That’s madness. It’s not only unnecessarily expensive, but it would deprive the non-English-speaking juror of the advantages of being able to understand the verbal inflections of the speakers.

Then you have the additional problem of jury deliberations: how can the jury be expected to deliberate amongst themselves, by themselves, if one or more jurors doesn’t speak English?

The New Mexico Supreme Court’s decision is one of political correctness run amok. It makes absolutely no sense at all. It’s not fair to the state, it’s not fair to the accused, it’s not fair to justice.

The judges who came up with this cockamamie decision need to have their law licenses all pulled, because they are just flat f(ornicating) idiots."

Pentagon Celebrates Gays in the Military: They're Just Fabulous!

The Washington Times  - "The Pentagon on Tuesday toasted gays in the military, with a top adviser to President Obama declaring the country is “safer” now that they may serve openly in the ranks.

“Because we repealed ‘don’t ask, don’t tell,’ our military … is stronger and our country is safer, more equal and more just,” said Valerie Jarrett, the keynote speaker at the Pentagon’s gay pride celebration. It was the Defense Department second annual gay pride gathering since September 2011, when Mr. Obama signed the repeal of “don’t ask, don’t tell,” a ban on gays serving openly in the military implemented during the Clinton administration."

The 7th Gay Airborne held their first annual 'Rue Paul Fabulous Fashion Purse'
400m relay near the Pentagon Auditorium.

This year’s 35-minute gathering in the Pentagon auditorium was more low-key and shorter than last year’s event, which featured a gay Marine officer, an Air Force lawyer and a lesbian West Point graduate. Wednesday’s speakers were assembled by a new group, DOD Pride, and featured three senior officials, topped by Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel.

“We’re very proud of everything the gay and lesbian community have contributed and continue to contribute,” Mr. Hagel said. “With their service, we are moving closer to fulfilling the country’s founding vision that all of us are created equal.”

"Eric Fanning, the Air Force undersecretary and acting Air Force secretary, noted that two years ago gays could not serve openly. Now, a secretary of defense was speaking at a lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender celebration."

Navy Corpsman David Filmee and his transgender partner, seaman Danni Gripp

"Ms. Jarrett told of meeting gay service members at the White House, including a Marine Corps captain.“When he deploys in August, he’ll be taking his husband with him,” she said.
Army Reserve Brig. Gen. Tammy Smith, the first openly gay general officer, stood in the audience with her partner, to a round of applause. “Stand up. Come on,” Ms. Jarrett said. “Whoo. Whoo.”

Ms. Jarrett, one of Mr. Obama’s closest confidantes, called the repeal of the gay ban “one of the most significant civil rights accomplishments of the president's career.”

It's Colonel Mustard, in the Study, with . . . the Trajectory

The super sleuths at The New York Times have cracked the Boston bombing case wide open.

Conducting "dozens of interviews with friends, acquaintances and relatives" in Cambridge and Dagestan, the team of team of three reporters examining the life of Tamerlan Tsarnaev concluded that a "trajectory" was responsible for the murder.

Here's the quote from the fifth paragraph of the story:
"His trajectory eventually led the frustrated athlete and his loyal younger brother . . . to bomb one of the most famous athletic events in the country, killing three and wounding more than 200 at the Boston Marathon.'
Okay, so it's not exactly clear whether the trajectory was a motive or simply some mysterious force of the universe. But whatever it was, this trajectory was so powerful it ended up propelling not only Tamerlan but also his loyal younger brother to slaughter innocent people.

And it appears that the police have bought into this trajectory theory of the case:

"The authorities say it led Mr. Tsarnaev, his application for citizenship stalled, and his brother, a new citizen and a seemingly well-adjusted college student, to attack their American hometown on Patriots' Day, April 15 ."
The "it" in the quotation refers to the very same "trajectory" referred to in the previous sentence.

By the way, in case you're wondering,  this evil and mysterious trajectory had nothing to do with radical Islam. Instead, the Times believes the trajectory appears to have its origins in Tamerlan's failure to make it as a boxer.
 *cough*

The Tyranny of Anecdotes

Taki's Magazine
Remember the good old days when you’d only have one tyrant per country and they’d usually kill a few thousand people? Today anyone can be tyrannical and use their shrill screams to kill millions of conversations.
In The Tyranny of Clichés, Jonah Goldberg talks about how clichés such as “Violence never solves anything” trump logic and end debates despite the evidence saying the opposite. (He says violence liberated America from the English and also ended slavery.) The perpetually misunderstood Sam Francis has a similar take but calls it “anarcho-tyranny” and describes it as
a combination of anarchy (in which legitimate government functions—like spying on the bad guys or punishing real criminals—are not performed) and tyranny (in which government performs illegitimate functions—like spying on the good guys or criminalizing innocent conduct like gun ownership and political dissent).
There’s a third kind of tyranny with which the seemingly oppressed like to oppress us: anecdotal evidence. Where freak occurrences and exceptions used to be treated for the aberrations that they are, they now define policies and dominate discourse. Right now, Putin is using one dead orphan to justify a total adoption ban on American parents because his ego is hurt. To be against him is to want orphans to die.
Safety culture uses this tactic often. Thirty-four children in Ohio died in car accidents! Are you OK with that? Are you OK with a classroom blowing up? To be against booster seats for 7-year-olds is to laugh at the atrocities in Sandy Hook. No wonder Ralph Nader has a career. If you don’t pay his extortion fees, you’re killing kids. When you have the emotions behind “common sense” on your side, counterintuitive truth is doomed.
In a culture where a Liberal Arts degree is considered education and “Making mathematics mandatory prevents us from discovering and developing young talent,” replacing data with propaganda is easy.
Here are 10 totally random occurrences that tyrants pretend aren’t random at all:

It's Time We Ban All Holidays

via Euripides

"This past week I read several news articles that just proves to me what I've been feeling for many years now: All holidays should be banned for the good of this country. Holidays are oppressive remnants of an evil bygone era, long overdue to be banned. I'm sure all will agree that it is high time we took a look at the institution of holidays and think about giving that up. Let me go through a partial list of holidays in the US to show what I mean:

New Years Day - This celebration is completely insensitive to those non-Julian calendared individuals in our country. We can no longer support a day that just isn't new years for Jews, Muslims, or the Chinese. Besides, having wild parties in the middle of the night at Times Square is downright dangerous and unhealthy.

Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday - Originally based on the ideal of civil rights, this holiday is a reminder of White oppression and the evils of slavery. Since we no longer want anyone to feel bad around the celebration of holidays, we must also get rid of this one. It also neglects to celebrate the diversity of all people of color, for example, excluding Hispanics and Asians. Gays are not represented either, especially in light of the modern idea that gays are the "New Black."

Mardi Gras - At first glance, this holiday seems innocuous enough, representing the average American values of debauchery and overindulgence. However, we can no longer support a holiday that takes place in New Orleans. This city was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina, which, as we all know, was Bush's fault. We must not support any holiday associated with George W. Bush.

Valentine's Day - Of course, this is the celebration of St. Valentine, a religious figure, and should be given up since it is offensive to any non-Catholic. It is also a reminder that gays have been legislated from their freedom to express love, apparently in any way, shape or form. The non-romantic in this country take exception to the idealization of romance and want nothing to do with it and should not have romanticism and love shoved in their faces.

President's Day - At the outset, this looks like a good idea until you realize that we are also celebrating George W. Bush who was President of the US. No one really wants a holiday that celebrates Bush. If Clinton had only been allowed to stay in office, we could probably keep this one holiday, but alas, Bush has ruined it for everyone.

April Fool's Day - All but gone anyway, the practice of playing practical jokes on anyone is insensitive, unfunny and should be made criminally illegal with stiff jail terms and fines imposed.

St. Patrick's Day - A Catholic throwback that should best be ignored. Making everything green in its celebration denies the diversity of color. We might, perhaps, consider a Rainbow Beer day instead, but beer will soon be illegal since it causes obesity and drunk drivers.

May Day - A holiday based on the mass destruction of earth's natural resources by cutting and killing millions of innocent flowers is completely unconscionable. We should never agree to any holiday that contributes so drastically to global warming.

Cinco de Mayo - This isn't a real holiday in Mexico either, but an excuse to get drunk and cause traffic accidents. It should have been banned years ago.

Mother's Day - This insensitive celebration doesn't even consider the many women who cannot have children, or choose to abort them. Men, also are excluded, which at the outset may seem like a good thing until you realize that some gays are men as well.

Independence Day - This is merely a celebration of some old, fat, white guys making other old, fat white guys angry and starting a war that killed lots of innocent people. We also need to consider that fireworks are inherently dangerous and need to be banned. Personally, I'm tired of trying to find new ways to decorate using red, white, and blue as the only possible colors.

Labor Day - When we have a holiday that reminds us that we should all be working, we're not being fair to the myriads of people depending on the US welfare system for their support. We could conceivably stretch this particular holiday to include welfare recipients, and call it Nanny State Day or some such, but alas, there are still people who insist on working for a living and ruining it for the rest of us.

Hannukah - Lighting candles in your house or apartment is dangerous. It's best if we forget this holiday for the safety of all.

Christmas - The grandparent of all oppressive religious holidays, this is a reminder to atheists around the country that "we are all going to hell if we don't bow down to Jesus." Its traditional values of peace on earth, goodwill towards men has absolutely no place in our modern, secular society. No such religious sentimentality should be forced on anyone. Gift giving and being nice to others also has no business being enforced by the religious right. Christmas contributes to widespread deforestation, light pollution, mall traffic, and global warming. It remains the most unhealthy time of the year as heart attacks and suicides increase. Santa Claus is a silly myth and superstition that should never be imposed on anyone, let alone on unsuspecting and innocent children. Wal-Mart workers would certainly be safer without it.

Kwanzaa - Let's face it, this one was just made up so Blacks in the US could feel better about themselves by having their own tradition to adhere to. Traditions are inane remnants of deranged minds and no one in this country has a right to feel better about themselves.

There you have it. A lot of problems in the US would go away if we would stop being so selfish and just give up our holidays. Ill feelings would melt away as the ear of a chocolate Easter bunny in the mouth of a three year old.

Go Here to see Rip's complete list of Holiday bans.

Clown Prince of Law Inforcement Gets Bitch Slapped by U.S. Court Judge

Eric Holder is a busy man. When President Obama’s chief law enforcement officer isn’t tied up selling guns to Mexican drug cartels, refusing to prosecute self-serving cases of voter intimidation or ignoring “wanted dead or alive” bounties placed by black militants on the heads of private citizens, he’s busy conspiring with pro-abortion extremists to bring the full weight of the federal government down upon innocent pro-life advocates.

So much tyranny, so little time.

"For several months now the Obama administration has been abusing our judicial system through a concerted political intimidation campaign via the federal courts. Obama has instructed the Justice Department to sue a number of pro-life counselors and volunteers for allegedly violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrance (FACE) Act."
"You won’t hear it from the mainstream media, but the Justice Department has just faced an embarrassing smack down on the highest profile of these cases. It has dropped an appeal in Holder v. Pine against pro-life sidewalk counselor Mary “Susan” Pine, who is represented by the civil rights firm Liberty Counsel. The DOJ has agreed to pay $120,000 for this frivolous lawsuit which, as the evidence indicated, was intended to intimidate Ms. Pine and send a shot over the bow of pro-lifers around the country."
"Mr. Holder unsuccessfully sought thousands of dollars in fines against Ms. Pine, as well as a permanent injunction banning her from counseling women on the public sidewalk outside the Presidential Women’s Center (PWC) abortion mill (or any other “reproductive services” clinic)."
"After 18 months of litigation, the DOJ’s case was thrown out of federal court, and the department was chastised in a scathing ruling by U.S. District Judge Kenneth Ryskamp for filing a case with no evidence."
"Judge Ryskamp wrote that Holder’s complete failure to present any evidence of wrongdoing, coupled with the DOJ’s cozy relationship with PWC and their apparent joint decision to destroy video surveillance footage of the alleged “obstruction,” caused the court to suspect a conspiracy at the highest levels of the Obama administration. “The Court is at a loss as to why the Government chose to prosecute this particular case in the first place,” wrote Judge Ryskamp. “The Court can only wonder whether this action was the product of a concerted effort between the Government and PWC, which began well before the date of the incident at issue, to quell Ms. Pine’s activities rather than to vindicate the rights of those allegedly aggrieved by Ms. Pine’s conduct.”

It is irresponsible for the U.S. Department of Justice to place politics above principle when deciding to prosecute, and thus attempt to silence, a pro-life sidewalk counselor without any evidence of wrongdoing.

When the nation’s highest law enforcement officer files suit against any citizen, the suit must be based on the law coupled with compelling evidence. Anything less is an abuse of the high office. Susan Pine will not be silenced or detoured from her mission to save the lives of innocent children. Indeed, “politics above principle,” intimidation of private citizens and jaw-dropping abuses of power are but a few hallmarks of this Obama administration.

That agreement is tucked inside the massive 1,200-page spending bill that funds the government through the rest of this fiscal year, and which both houses of Congress will vote on Friday. Mr. Obama is expected to sign the bill, which heads off a looming government shutdown.

Congressional Republicans dropped almost all of the policy restrictions they tried to attach to the bill, but won inclusion of the light bulb provision, which prevents the Obama administration from carrying through a 2007 law that would have set energy efficiency standards that effectively made the traditional light bulb obsolete.
