The ISIS Speech Obama Should Have Given

Mr. Rogers Could Have Sounded Tougher Giving a Speech on Terrorism Than Obama Did Tonight.....

by Gayle Trotter

Somewhere in an alternate universe, White House speech writers prepared this address for President Obama to deliver to the nation on the Islamic State, also called ISIS. I have no intention of explaining how this document that I now offer fell into my hands — although I note some similarity to the words of Ronald Reagan and Liam Neeson.
My fellow Americans:
At 7 o’clock this evening, Eastern Time, air and naval forces of the United States launched a series of strikes against the terrorist facilities and military assets that support the Islamic State. From initial reports, our forces have succeeded in their mission.
ISIS is not only an enemy of the United States. Their record of subversion and aggression against innocent people is well-documented and well-known. They have wantonly and indiscriminately raped, murdered and pillaged. They have committed acts of terrorism in Iraq with a shocking degree of bloodthirstiness.
Today, we have done what we had to do. As necessary, we shall do it again. It gives me no pleasure to say that, and I wish it were otherwise.
I’m sure there are Muslims that are ashamed and disgusted that groups such as ISIS have made Islamic jihad a synonym for barbarism around the world, caught in the grip of tyrannical fundamentalists with a history reaching back to the days when Thomas Jefferson sent U.S. Marines to the shores of Tripoli to deal with the Barbary pirates.
Back then, the Tripoli ambassador told Jefferson that, according to the Koran, “all nations which had not acknowledged the Prophet were sinners, whom it was the right and duty of the faithful to plunder and enslave.” From the earliest days of our national history, we have boldly confronted the double threat of tyranny and state-sponsored religion. We were not fooled then, and we are not fooled now.
We Americans are slow to anger. We always seek peaceful avenues before resorting to the use of force — and we did. We have tried quiet diplomacy, public condemnation, economic sanctions and demonstrations of military force. None succeeded. Despite our repeated warnings, ISIS has continued its grotesque acts of savagery, intimidation and relentless pursuit of terror.
Finally, I also have a message for those members of the Islamic State directly involved in the kidnapping and beheading of our citizens, James Foley and Steven Sotloff. At this point, I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what you expect to accomplish. If you are looking for the United States to abandon its resolve, I can tell you we don’t have that in our nature.
What we do have is a very particular set of skills, skills we have acquired over a very long history of leading in world affairs. Skills that make us a nightmare for people like you. We will look for you, we will find you, and we will kill you. And we will accord the same treatment for your accomplices and your affiliates.
ISIS has made the first of several fatal miscalculations. They counted on America to be passive. They counted wrong.
We are sending a message to terrorists everywhere. The message: You can run, but you can’t hide.
I warned that there should be no place on Earth where terrorists can rest and train and practice their deadly skills. I meant it. I said that we would act with others if possible, and alone if necessary, to ensure that terrorists have no sanctuary anywhere. Tonight, we have.
Thank you, and may God continue to bless the United States of America.

Voters Swing to Republicans on Immigration

American Interest

Support for the Democratic approach to immigration reform appears to be in free-fall after this summer’s surge in under-age immigrants. This helps us understand Obama’s sharp pivot away from executive action in the run-up to the mid-terms. The Wall Street Journal:
Republicans seized on the influx to argue that U.S. borders are too porous, and they blamed what they consider to be Democratic leniency toward illegal immigration for persuading children to make the journey.
The result: voters’ trust in Democrats has fallen, as has their willingness to consider legalization for undocumented.
The new survey finds that 35% of people saying the Republican Party would do a better job on immigration, vs. 27% for Democrats. That represents a big swing from December, when 31% favored Democrats and 26%, Republicans.
But as President Obama gets set to pivoting sharply towards bombing Syria and Iraq—apparently by executive action as well—it’s worth noting that current polling favors bombing ISIS as heavily as it favored immigration reform back in the spring when Obama was all over the issue. One can’t help but wonder whether, if the polls flip again before Christmas, the President’s Middle East policies will also turn around.

All politicians need to take public opinion into account. But one never wants to look too much like one is leading from behind and chasing polls.

Calling Out Mary Landrieu

Saturday, a group of pro-life women, including Alveda King, niece of Martin Luther King Jr., and Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the Susan B. Anthony List, gathered to call out Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., for being out of touch with her constituents.
“Not only has Sen. Landrieu voted for taxpayer funding of abortion and against conscience rights, she refuses to support a common sense, compassionate limit on abortion after five months when the child can feel excruciating pain, Sen. Landrieu has failed to stand up for pro-life Louisiana values and must be defeated.”
As for the mid-term election: A judge on Friday threw out a lawsuit challenging Landrieu’s residency in the state.

Landrieu is shooting for her fourth term, and is set to become chairman of the Senate Energy Committee (a cheap attempt by Harry Reid to bolster her importance and influence for the eyes of voters in the state) but constituents don’t seem to be impressed: The latest Rasmussen poll shows Rep. Bill Cassidy, R-La.has taken a three-point lead in the race, 44 percent to 41 percent.

But that still falls within the margin of error and doesn't cover the built-in voter fraud so wide spread in democrat strong-holds of the southern parishes.  Neither candidate seems poised to get to 50 percent, which is necessary to avoid a December runoff in Louisiana’s open primary system.

All said, with the Tea-Party candidate polling at 8-9% and refusing to drop out and swing his support to Cassidy, Landrieu is sure to make the runoff, and in all probability, again squeeze out a win.

Obama to Announce Plans to Tickle Murdering Barbarians into Better Behavior.

by Robert Janicki
President Obama is scheduled to speak to the nation on Wednesday to outline what America will not do to stop ISIS, ISIL or whatever the acronym of the day might be.  If the president and his minions can't figure out how to address this mob of murdering thugs, I can't really hold out much hope that he will have anything of consequence to tell Americans.
Paraphrasing Brit Hume of Fox News in small part, Obama will continue to tell the world what he won't do and then try and fit a strategy and a set of tactics, to fit the narrowly tailored parameters he will lay out. Obama will then try to stretch and convolute logic by outlining a strange labyrinth of means that he may or may not employ against an enemy, which he really does not believe is a danger to America's security.
They're Muslims after all is said and done and they're  believers in the religion of peace.  How could that possibly present a danger to America? Of course the facts do not support such a conclusion at any time in history.
That's one of the major obstacles that President Obama can not seem to overcome.  When you see these Muslim barbarians act with inhuman behavior toward other human beings, it's difficult for most people to believe they are anything but the worst of the worst in the animal world.
Expect more obfuscation by President Obama in his speech to the nation on Wednesday.  Still further, expect Obama to push the responsibility of cleaning up the mess he created by completely leaving Iraq, to the the nations in the neighborhood of the ISIS.  Admittedly, it's difficult to find fault with that concept, but expect Obama to use that as an excuse to restrain American participation in dealing with the ISIS barbarians.  Expect not to hear Obama talk about destroying ISIS.  Instead, expect Obama to weasel his words to work around that concept and direct his talk to containment and management of the barbarians of ISIS.
War has only one ultimate purpose and that is to destroy the enemy as quickly as possible with overwhelming force to save lives of the innocent and the forces for liberty and freedom.  If that necessitates the killing of large numbers of the enemy, so be it, that is the responsibility of the enemy aggressors.  Of course, bleeding heart liberals will cry "unnecessary force beyond a measured and proportional response".
That's just how liberal losers always respond.

Why Obama Can't Get Out of the Way of His Own Failures

by Robert Janicki
Essentially, President Obama is an intellectual captive of his own making.  He is so deeply committed to realizing the delusional dreams of his father and his early mentors, that he cannot see the world as it really exists.  He is inexorably locked into a delusional vision embedded in his psyche that he cannot get beyond.
Obama fancies himself a pragmatist, which he has told one audience after another for over six years.  It's as if calling yourself a pragmatist somehow elevates your thinking and actions to that of a "seer of all cosmic events before they unfold."  Unfortunately, this is just part of Obama's pattern of self delusion.
Obama has created a patch work of bits and pieces of misinformation from his father, Frank Marshall Davis and a host of other mentors throughout his life.  It's as if he has taken, Political Cliff Notes for Dummies, and created his very own vision of how the world should be, rather than what it is today.  Unfortunately, Obama's vision of how the world should be is no better than his analysis of how the world is today.
Everyone of Obama's foreign policy initiatives has been a failure on multiple levels.  Obama has either sided with those who would ultimately do America harm or failed to act against those who openly seek to do America harm or operate in a manner that does not support or at least meet American interests.
All of Obama's decisions, whether on domestic issues or foreign policy, have been based up political considerations that will benefit him personally and secondarily will benefit the cause of a continuing liberal progressive agenda on both domestic and global issues.  No where in Obama's reasoning is America's best national interest seriously considered.  It's always political considerations from Obama that trump America's national interests.
And that's where Obama finds himself today.   Much like the concept from the movie "Ground Hog Day", Obama is reliving his failures over and over again in one form or another like a continuous loop movie trailer.
Meanwhile, America becomes weaker as its enemies become stronger in the face of America's obviously increasing weaknesses.

Hardest Working Man in Politics is Now 'Energized'

Whether being a Bear on the Loose, or Energized like The Bunny, Obama looks forward to his last two years on the golf course in the Oval Office.

"The important thing is, am I getting the policies right? Am I protecting the American people?
Am I doing what’s necessary?”

Obama had this to say yesterday in a taped interview with NBC's Chuck Toad:
“You know, I actually feel energized about the opportunities that we’ve got. There are days where I’m not getting enough sleep, because we’ve got a lot on our plate."
He then dons his cape as the Leader of the Free World:
"You know, when you’re, when you’re president of the United States, you’re not just dealing with the United States but also leading the international response to crises around the world, as in responding to conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, as well as the outbreak of Ebola in Africa. You know, our inbox gets pretty high.
"I was reminded once again that not only is America the only indispensable nation, but we perhaps have never been more indispensable. And our leadership is making a difference. And that gives you a lot of satisfaction. That keeps you getting up, even if you haven’t gotten as much sleep as you want.”
And after finishing the interview, the president quickly headed to Fort Belvoir, Virginia, for an afternoon of golf.

Chalk Up Another One For Enlightened Socialist Thinking

Oil Rich Venezuela To Import Oil

Last week, a document from Venezuela’s state-run energy company PDVSA seen by Reuters News Service showed Venezuela was considering importing crude oil for the first time. “Yes, we are in talks,” Yousfi told Reuters when asked whether Algeria was planning to export crude oil to Venezuela. He declined to provide details.

Miami Herald:
"It turns out that Venezuela’s own production of light crudes has plummeted since the late President Hugo Chávez took office in 1999, and the country desperately needs light crudes to blend with its Orinoco Basin extra heavy crude oils, which without, extra heavy crude is too dense to be transported through pipelines to Venezuelan ports and exported abroad.
Venezuela’s oil production, which accounts for 95 percent of the country’s export earnings, should be used in world classrooms as a textbook case of what happens when a populist government starts distributing a country’s wealth in cash subsidies, without investing in maintenance and innovation. Much like happened with Cuba’s once flourishing sugar industry, Venezuela’s Chávez-inspired populism has destroyed the goose that laid the golden eggs.
In 1999, when Chávez took office, PDVSA had 51,000 employees and produced 63 barrels of crude a day per employee. Fifteen years later, PDVSA had 140,000 employees, and produced 20 barrels of crude a day per employee, according to an Aug. 14 report by the France Press news agency.
Venezuela’s net oil exports have plummeted from 3.1 million barrels a day in 1997 to 1.7 million barrels a day in 2013, according to U.S. Energy Information Administration estimates."
There was a popular riddle bandied about the Soviet Union back in communist days that went something like this: Question: if the Soviet Union conquered the Sahara, what would happen? Answer: nothing for 50 years, then a shortage of sand.
