'Fifty Shades of Grey' most Requested Book in Guantanamo

Reuters is reporting that the Fifty Shades of Grey series is “the favorite reading material among former CIA captives held at the Guantanamo detention camp."

Rep Jim Moran (D-VA) toured Camp 7 at Gitmo last week. Camp 7 is home to “high value" prisoners including five men charged in the 911 attacks on the United States in 2001. Moran told Huffington Post:
"Rather than the Koran, the book that is requested most by the (detainees) is ‘Fifty Shades of Grey.’ They’ve read the entire series in English, but we were willing to translate it," the Huffington Post quoted Moran as saying on Monday.
"I guess there’s not much going on, these guys are going nowhere, so what the hell."

Lavish Trips Abroad and Funding the Palestinian Authority
"The sequester has 'cost jobs,' says President Obama, and 'gutted investments in education and science and medical research.' But somehow he's earmarked $500 million for Hamas terrorists.
"Circumventing Congress and with no fanfare, President Obama last week issued an executive order enabling him to send an additional $500 million directly to the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank — much of which you can bet will wind up going to the Iranian-backed Hamas terrorist organization....."
"According to Obama, 'it is important to the national security interests of the United States to waive the provisions of' Congress' legislative restrictions 'in order to provide funds . .. to the Palestinian Authority.' - Investor's Business Daily

To America: A Letter from the Mainstream Media

Dear Mr.& Mrs. America,

We in the mainstream media complex would respectfully inform you that we will retreat from tradition and will not be doing our usual yearly whooping it up in celebration the anniversary of the final days of Watergate and the House Judiciary Committee's approval and sending to the whole House of Representatives three articles of impeachment against President Richard M. Nixon.

The reason we in the vaulted media are dialing back an episode that confirmed our place as the fourth estate and an indispensable player in governing this country is that some feel the charges the Democrats lodged against Richard Nixon are just too damn close to how our great leader (that we helped you choose thank you) President Barack Obama and his White House does business.

Democrats once charged the president with using his office to personally, and through his staff delay, impede and obstruct the investigation into wrong doing.  His staff were accused of giving false or misleading statements in congressional and judicial testimony and to investigators.

Democrats accused the presidents men of accessing private tax records from the IRS and directing the IRS to audit, investigate and otherwise harass political opponents.  Democrats accused the Nixon administration of using the electronic surveillance to spy on Americans without national security or law enforcement justification.

On four occasions, the Nixon White House failed to comply with subpoenas from the Judiciary Committee.
“In refusing to produce these papers and things Richard M. Nixon, substituting his judgment as to what materials were necessary for the inquiry, interposed the powers of the Presidency against the lawful subpoenas of the House of Representatives........"
We in the main stream media recognize enough similarities between the behavior of the Obama White House and what Democrats claimed in 1974 was so egregious that Nixon had to be removed from office.

But these are trying times in America and we should overlook simple things. Besides, he's our man, we help put him there, and despite the fact he picks on some of us from time to time (mostly those penis heads at Fox News) and listens in on our conversations, for the most part we agree with his progressive agenda. And he gives many more fabulous rides on Air Force One then either Bush or Clinton did. And takin' bout White House shindigs!

So all in all, this will give us much more time in coming days to bring you reports on trips to Martha's Vineyard, the wonderful free health care he has given to all Americans, an expanding economy and Kim Kardashian's spawn.

Somewhat Respectfully,

The Vintage Media Complex

P.S.
We apologize for the commonly used English honorific for women (Mrs.) in the opening greeting to this letter. It is in no way, shape or form meant to degrade any women single by choice, unmarried women, widows, lesbians, a divorcée, spinster, feminist or anyone of the bovine persuasion.

How embarrassing for the Obama Administration: Jimmy Carter Goes on Hostage Rescue Mission

America’s most disliked former president is planning yet another step onto the international stage – this time heading to North Korea to negotiate the release of an American citizen Pyongyang accuses of working to overthrow the government, according to Reuters.

Fortunately for the man being held, a missionary named Kenneth Bae, Jimmy Carter has a good chance of getting him out. He did something similar in 2010 for a Boston native being held in North Korea for illegally entering the country. The North Koreans – like most countries that despise the United States (Venezuela, Cuba, Syria etc.) actually think Carter’s a great guy.

Unfortunately for the United States, there’s a good chance Carter will say or do something embarrassing to the rest of the country – kind of like he did on a daily basis from 1977 to 1981. (And as he’s been doing regularly ever since America’s voters ended Carter’s administration of malaise by trading one of the worst presidencies in history for one of the greatest.)

Here’s a rundown of some Carter classics, just from the past 10 years:

July 19: “America has no functioning democracy at this moment.”Actually, Carter hasn’t been fond of American democracy since it proved itself on Nov. 4, 1980.

February, 2012: The Occupy Movement has been “relatively successful, even acknowledging there’s no leadership, there’s no coherence and there’s no single list of issues they want to succeed.” Carter is an expert on matters of “no leadership and no coherence.”

Sept. 10, 2011: “We kept our country at peace (during his administration). We never went to war. We never dropped a bomb. We never fired a bullet.” Letting 54 citizens be held prisoner and getting embarrassed on the world stage by a mob of beggars in Tehran for more than a year and not doing a damn thing about it isn’t something to brag about.

September, 2009: “I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man, that he’s African-American.” What other myriad of reasons could there be to dislike Carter’s philosophical successor?

April, 2008:My country, the political arena of my country, is almost 100 percent supportive of the Israeli position. You never hear any debates on both sides much. … They have laid down a rule to which I consider myself immune that … nobody can talk to Hamas, nobody can talk to Syria.” Jimmy Carter, our apostle to the Syrians.

May, 2007: I think as far as the adverse impact on the nation around the world, this (Bush) administration has been the worst in history.” There’s at least one other administration in the running for that title. It was around from 1977 to 1980.

January, 2006: “At least (Hamas) aren’t corrupt.” Thanks. Murdering, lying terrorists they may be. But at least they’re not corrupt.

September, 2005: “Well I would say that in the year 2000, the country failed abysmally in the presidential election process … There’s no doubt in my mind that Al Gore was elected president.” See how that whole presidential democracy thing bugs him?

September, 2004: “… Here’s what I will be doing: Everything I can to put John Kerry in the White House with John Edwards right there beside him.” Working to put John Edwards in the White House. Jimmy Carter: A judge of men. Think of the love children we could have seen grow up there.

Life in Obama's America

DiploMad 2.0
"There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are controlling transmission. If we wish to make it louder, we will bring up the volume. If we wish to make it softer, we will tune it to a whisper. We will control the horizontal. We will control the vertical. We can roll the image, make it flutter. We can change the focus to a soft blur or sharpen it to crystal clarity. Sit quietly and we will control all that you see and hear. We repeat: there is nothing wrong with your television set. You are about to participate in a great adventure. You are about to experience the awe and mystery which reaches from the inner mind to — The Outer Limits."

Al Gore has a Chicken Little Suit just for you....

Washington Examiner  - The nation's leading climate change advocate, former Vice President Al Gore, is creating a mini army of "climate leaders" to push governments and companies around the world to adopt policies aimed at reducing global warming.

On Wednesday in Chicago Gore will host his second "climate reality leadership corps training" this year where his Climate Reality Project will show supporters how to talk about the issue and push for solutions to carbon burning.

Gore is using the two events to update his popular movie "An Inconvenient Truth," his slideshow describing his believe that the world isn't doing enough to curb carbon use which he blames on global warming. "Climate Leaders are activists who have taken part in this leadership and communications training led by former Vice President Al Gore and the Climate Reality Project," said Gore's group. "Climate leaders are expected to perform ten acts of leadership, which could include organising an event, speaking at a seminar or writing a column in a newspaper."
