2016 Dems Need a Mythical War on Voting Rights

When the Voting Rights Act was adopted in 1965, America was a segregated nation. Many states, especially in the South, had discriminatory voting laws that worked to prevent African-Americans from voting. Despite furious opposition from the Jim Crow caucus within the Democratic Party, a bipartisan Congressional majority enacted the law. That began the process of redressing this historic injustice that was part of the unfinished legacy of the Civil War that had concluded a century earlier.
We’ve come a long way since then. Jim Crow is but an awful memory and blacks not only vote in most of the South at the same rates that whites do but also can look to a large Congressional Black Caucus whose existence is largely due to subsequent court interpretations of the Act that created minority-majority districts. But for the left, it’s always 1965 and a revival of Jim Crow is just around the corner. That’s the gist of the cover story of last Sunday’s New York Times Magazine, “A Dream Undone,” that takes it as a given that minority voting rights are not only under attack but about to disappear.
That this is palpably false is self-evident since efforts to single out blacks and prevent them from voting simply do not exist anywhere in the nation. Why then devote space to a nonexistent problem?
The Times is singing from the Democratic Party hymnal heading into 2016 as Hillary Clinton attempts to scare African-American voters who are somewhat apathetic about her candidacy into turning out in the same numbers they did for Barack Obama. But if Democrats want to frighten their party’s base into thinking Jim Crow is on its way back, they’ll have to do better than arcane disputes about voter ID or early voting laws.
The conceit of Jim Rutenberg’s lengthy essay is that there is a clear continuum between the death rattle of the segregationists south that began to die in the early 1960s and today’s Republican Party.  One of the greatest victories of the struggle for Civil Rights was the way it transformed the white South from a bastion of racism to one in which racial equality was taken as a given Race exists as an issue in the America of 2015, but comparisons with 1965 aren’t merely misleading, they are flat out falsehoods. That is especially true in the South, where blacks vote and hold office in numbers that are largely commensurate with their share of the overall population.

First Lady Will Return to Humiliating Nation's Youth

While gearing up for another taxpayer paid grand vacation on Martha's Vineyard, the first lady took time to announced she will pay visits to school lunchrooms again this fall to humiliating the fat kids of America after they've "stuffed their chubby little faces with candy and goodies over the long summer vacation break."

The First Lady vowed to continue to pursue her campaign to stamp out childhood obesity and rid the nation of fat kids even if it starves and pisses off an entire generation. "These are kids who stuff there faces with Mickey-D's French fries and Big Mac's and aren't even healthy enough to out-run a Republican pervert."

Threatening to slam children's foreheads into the lunch table is one of the First Lady's most affective communication tools when discussing proper eating habits

What Voters See in Donald Trump:

"Trump's rise is not due to his supporters' anger at government. It is a gesture of contempt for government, for the men and women in Congress, the White House, the agencies. It is precisely because people have lost their awe for the presidency that they imagine Mr. Trump as a viable president. ...
Mr. Trump's supporters like that he doesn't in the least fear the press, doesn't get the dart-eyed, anxious look candidates get. He treats reporters with courtesy until he feels they're out of line, at which point he calls them stupid. They think he'll do that with Putin. His insult of John McCain didn't hurt him, and not because his supporters have any animus for Mr. McCain. They just saw it as more proof Mr. Trump will take the bark off anyone. ...
Trump's power is not name ID. He didn't make his name in this cycle or the last, he's been around 35 years. He's made an impression." — Peggy Noonan, The Wall Street Journal

A New Theory on Why Men Love Boobies

Presented by DMF as a Public Service and to Help
in Furthering the Knowledge of Science

Figure 1 - Boobies

Why do straight men devote so much head-space to those big, bulbous bags of fat drooping from women's chests? Scientists have never satisfactorily explained men's curious breast fixation (see figure #1), but now, a neuroscientist has struck upon an explanation that he says "just makes a lot of sense."

Larry Young, a professor of psychiatry at Emory University who studies the neurological basis of complex social behaviors, thinks human evolution has harnessed an ancient neural circuit that originally evolved to strengthen the mother-infant bond during breast-feeding, and now uses this brain circuitry to strengthen the bond between couples as well. The result? Men, like babies, love breasts.

When a woman's nipples are stimulated during breast-feeding, the neurochemical oxytocin, otherwise known as the "love drug," floods her brain, helping to focus her attention and affection on her baby. But research over the past few years has shown that in humans, this circuitry isn't just reserved for exclusive use by infants.

Recent studies have found that nipple stimulation enhances sexual arousal in the great majority of women, and it activates the same brain areas as vaginal stimulation. When a sexual partner touches, massages or nibbles a woman's breasts, Young said, this triggers the release of oxytocin in the woman's brain, just like what happens when a baby nurses. But in this context, the oxytocin focuses the woman's attention on her sexual partner, strengthening her desire to bond with this person.

“When Alexander the Great visited the philosopher Diogenes and asked whether he could do anything for him, Diogenes is said to have replied: ‘Yes, stand a little less between me and the sun.’  It is what every citizen is entitled to ask of his government.” ---  Henry Hazlitt (1894 - 1993)

March of Dimes Admits Giving to Planned Parenthood

The March of Dimes??

Ever feel like nothing is real anymore, like you were living in a dream and just woke up to find everything is not what you always believed was true. I believed apart from all the other charitable organizations, The March of Dimes was above them all, claiming to respect life, conquer childhood disease and birth defects and seek to end premature birth and infant mortality.

The March of Dimes' motto is: A Fighting Chance for Every Baby. And Their Mission - from their website:  We help moms have full-term pregnancies and research the problems that threaten the health of babies.

Nothing makes sense anymore........
The uproar began after a list of 41 organizations that donate or have donated to Planned Parenthood through direct grants or matching employee gifts. Planned Parenthood featured the names of the groups on its website, but removed them after complaints from companies like Coca-Cola, Ford and Xerox Corp.
March of Dimes was included on the list due to a 2012 tax form showing a $22,760 grant to the Virginia League for Planned Parenthood, one of the affiliates of the national organization.
This enraged many March of Dimes supporters and they flooded the organization’s Facebook page with complaints. That prompted March of Dimes to post this message:
To set the record straight, the March of Dimes does not have a relationship with Planned Parenthood. Additionally, the March of Dimes does not promote or fund abortion services, nor may foundation funds be used for directive counseling regarding abortion. Violation of this policy would be grounds for immediate cancellation of a grant or cooperative agreement. Since 2007, five local March of Dimes chapters have given local grants to Planned Parenthood exclusively for prenatal education.
March of Dimes’ admission was met with an even bigger flurry of reaction on social media and has given a black eye to one of the most respected charity organizations. The March of Dimes should do some serious soul searching if they truly are a group that ‘funds lifesaving research and programs and works to end premature birth, birth defects and infant mortality, as they have always claimed, and distant themselves from the evil dealers in death, and sellers of the parts of aborted babies.

On this day many years ago in a land far far away...

.....a young Lydia Marie gave birth to what her own Mother was heard to say was the most beautiful baby girl she'd ever seen (second only to Lydia Marie herself of course).
And I, being that baby girl, shall for this day delegate my duties of business to others, I shall sleep as late as I wish, eat anything my heart desires and as much as I want, and spend some well earned downtime lounging on the sofa killing brain cells watching daytime television.
And after the evenings Fete du l'abondance et beaucoup de vin rouge festivities and celebration, I shall retire to the boudoir for the night only when I'm good and ready, and not before.
And if it requires panties and a bra, I will assure you, it's not happening today!

Bet Ya Didn't See This One Coming!

... unless you're like nine and have the IQ of a cicada.

The White House coordinated with the media, and specifically with Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz (aka Jon Stewart) of The Daily Show.

The Wahoo
Tell me, what is the chief asset of the left? What characterizes them best and what do they themselves value the most? It's organization. The left has always known their views are not widely shared by the middle-class, the masses, the bourgeoisie, the proletariat (whatever term one may apply). Therefore their focus has always been on organizing, to multiply their power by controlling KEY positions in business, arts and entertainment, news outlets, academia etc.
Now you may call this a conspiracy theory, but the idea that the liberal media WOULD NOT coordinate with the White House and other political entities that share their world view is to me ludicrous. It would go against their very nature. I am POSITIVE there is highly organized coordination between all the aforementioned groups and probably your damn dog-groomer (if she or he is a tapped in leftist). Technology over the past couple of decades has made their message even more monolithic (and a helluva lot easier to disseminate).
Adam Smith said that competitors rarely talk, but if they do it'll take them less than 10 minutes before they hatch a conspiracy against the markets.
Likewise leftists have been conspiring against our Constitution and our freedom since the days of Emma Goldman and John Reed (and probably since Moses, but I can't prove that). So Politico's grand revelation is not so grand, in fact I'm quite sure they've known about all this for years because they're part of the conspiracy.
Jon Stewart manipulates young idiots and Politico manipulates older idiots...and so it goes.
