This is the full context of the comments of an important writer with the NYT Editorial Board, @MaraGay, that are well worth listening to given how pervasive these views have become rather quickly in elite media circles: https://t.co/IGDq5A5fMu— Glenn Greenwald (@ggreenwald) June 8, 2021
This made me think of Katha Pollit's famous reaction to flag displays after the 9/11 attacks. Here: "Put Out No Flags" (The Nation, September 20, 2001):
"My daughter, who goes to Stuyvesant High School only blocks from the World Trade Center, thinks we should fly an American flag out our window. Definitely not, I say: The flag stands for jingoism and vengeance and war. She tells me I’m wrong–the flag means standing together and honoring the dead and saying no to terrorism......."
"It seems impossible to explain to a 13-year-old, for whom the war in Vietnam might as well be the War of Jenkins’s Ear, the connection between waving the flag and bombing ordinary people half a world away back to the proverbial stone age. I tell her she can buy a flag with her own money and fly it out her bedroom window, because that’s hers, but the living room is off-limits."

This is the Kind of News That Would Drive the MSM Into a Frenzy for 24-48 Hrs During Last Administration.

“The Small Business Administration lurches America dangerously backward, reversing the clock on American progress, and violating our most sacred and revered principles by actively and invidiously discriminating against American citizens solely based upon their race and sex. This is illegal, it is unconstitutional, it is wrong, and it must stop.”
"The context is clear: the evidence that Greer’s restaurant lost nearly $100,000 in gross revenue during the COVID-19 pandemic and [his] attestation that he has prepared an application and is otherwise eligible are sufficient."
"The facts of the case are straightforward: hard-hit American restaurant owners can apply for urgently-needed pandemic relief. But the government puts some owners at the back of the line for access to a limited pool of money based on their race.
So we are presented with a simple but vital question: can the government reward or punish American citizens based upon the color of their skin or the ancestry of their families? We all know the answer. Racial discrimination, in any form, is legally and morally wrong. It is un-American. It is unconscionable. And it must be stopped."
No national news lede story of court issuing major blow to Biden administration's overt racist initiative .....no droning 20 something experts on CNN opining the unconstitutionality.. ......no raving panel discussions of Biden's bigoted intentions. Just crickets.

President 46* announced today that every adult in the US will be allowed to receive a COVID-19 vaccine by April 19 — shaving about two weeks off his May 1 deadline, a date probably chosen for him because it would be easy to remember, for states to make all adults eligible. Good Jobs Joe!
Just so happens, it's exactly what someone was ruthlessly excoriated for saying by the political virus experts and Jeff Bezos' personal troopers of his 'Guardians of Truth'. A quick search on the Google Box show nary a peep now from The Washington Post.

There are no citizen petitions or schedules for the president and vice president posted online. The White House comment line is shut down. The White House won't release virtual visitor logs. Biden has yet to hold a news conference of his own. https://t.co/FZMlibcEPf— Anita Kumar (@anitakumar01) March 1, 2021

This is fantastic letter, Julie. We’ve never needed journalists more than we do right now to guide us to the truth. Being a journalist takes brains, determination, modesty and the ability to see both sides of.....🤣…I can’t. I tried.

"Alpha children wear grey. They work much harder than we do, because they're so frightfully clever. I'm really awfully glad I'm a Beta, because I don't work so hard. And then we are much better than the Gammas and Deltas. Gammas are stupid. They all wear green, and Delta children wear khaki. Oh no, I don't want to play with Delta children......" - Aldous Huxley, BNW

I hope someone is recording the media’s demands that Trump supporters ACCEPT THE RESULTS OF THE ELECTION! inasmuch as the Democrats refuse to accept the results of any presidential election they lose, unless it’s a landslide, and sometimes even then.
After George W. Bush won the 2000 election — despite the media depressing Bush turnout in Florida by calling the state for Gore when polls were still open in the conservative panhandle — Gore contested the election until Dec. 13, the day after the Supreme Court called off the endless recounts (in only certain Florida counties) demanded by Gore.
The next day, Gore conceded. But that still wasn’t the end of it! Weeks later, the Congressional Black Caucus tried to prevent congressional certification of the Electoral College for Bush, raising objection after objection on the House floor.
Over the course of the next year, the Florida ballots were painstakingly recounted, paid for by the same media outlets (New York Times, CNN, The Washington Post and the Associated Press) currently telling you to shut up and accept the results.
When Bush was reelected in 2004, Democrats again refused to accept the results of the election, and again attempted to block Congress’ counting of electoral votes, this time with the connivance of Sen. Barbara Boxer. Their smoking gun? The election results in Ohio didn’t match the exit polls!......"

The White House Correspondents Association has issued a statement urging journalists not to work on the White House grounds because the Trump White House is so infected with COVID that it's not safe for the nations top elite journalists and purveyors of truth. It seems DJT has taken the White House, which belongs to the American people, and turned it into a disease pit.
"In the immediate days ahead, we continue to insist that journalists who are not in the pool and do not have an enclosed workspace refrain from entering the indoor press areas of the White House. We would also strongly encourage all journalists to continue avoiding working from the White House grounds entirely if possible."

"You’re going to have to get rid of the Electoral College. Because the minority in this country decides who the judges are and they decide who the president is. Is that fair? If Joe Biden wins, Democrats can stack the Court and they can do that amendment and they can get it passed."

For the past four years, Stelter has had two fetishes: he pushed every hare-brained Russia Hoax allegation that appeared anywhere, and he hates Fox News, in particular, Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson, with the heat of a thousand lumps of burning soy product.
Stelter has a new book out, HOAX: Donald Trump, Fox News, and the Dangerous Distortion of Truth, in which he undertakes the role of a one-man Truth Commission to attempt to discover why Fox continually kicks CNN’s ass in ratings. As you can see from his Amazon blurb, the answer is Sean Hannity:
"CNN anchor and chief media correspondent Brian Stelter tells the twisted story of the relationship between Donald Trump and Fox News. At the center of the story lies Sean Hannity, a college dropout who, following the death of Fox News mastermind Roger Ailes, reigns supreme at the network that pays him $30 million a year."To promote his book, Stelter writes a preview of the book in Vanity Fair. It includes this bit about were Stelter’s whines about being punked by Sean Hannity, his sole encounter with his bête noire:
"I ran into Hannity at a holiday party hosted by the TV-news tracking website Mediaite. Hannity greeted me by putting both his hands on my shoulders and exclaiming: “Humpty!” His nickname for me was Humpty Dumpty. I asked if he ever felt bad about the name-calling.
“No,” he said. He took his hands off my shoulders and moved toward the bar."Self-deprecating humor is one thing, but there are stories men just don’t tell about themselves. I know we’re living in an age where masculinity is out of fashion, but this seems to be taking it a bit too far. It would be humiliating enough to be publicly ridiculed and demeaned in that fashion in front of friends and colleagues. But to write a whiny, sniveling…adjectives fail me at this point…plea for sympathy, a transparent attempt to try to get all the cool kids to tell him that they all think he was the bigger, more rotund, person than Hannity by being publicly crapped on and dismissed is just sickening.
But this is quintessential Tater. This is just who he is.
