Somebody Say Football??

Every year in the first week of September, Americans from coast to coast set aside their differences, be it religious, political and even the personal, and join in a camaraderie second to none in all of sports, professional or amateur. No sport, not even the simpleton showboat game of Basketball, which suddenly becomes popular for two weeks in March can come close to the CFB hardcore fan loyalty. Whether as an alumni, or just allegiance to your state's team, no sport, especially in the south, draws the passion and ritual of College football.

And this weekend college football jumps headlong into their much awaited 152nd season. Let's all pray for a normal season with no serious injuries or canceled games that wrecked the 2020 season.

Not to take anything away from the 2020 National Champions, but 2020 was an anomaly.  Covid denied many teams the valued practices and the stadium atmospheres that teams thrive on and grow.  An anomaly that could very well have changed the direction of the season. An anomaly I hope we never see the likes of again.

Making individual game predictions at this point would be silly, so I won't. But I won't pass up the chance of a few thoughts on the premier conference in college football ðŸ˜Ž, the SEC:
* Early season polls and rankings are meaningless. Until the previous year's National Champion is beaten , they are number one and everyone else is second. No one should be ranked until game four.
* I'm not buying the yearly Georgia hype.  If Sideshow Dan and the Florida Gators were to play the same schedule, they easily finish 11-1.
* Don't underestimate Kentucky or Ole Missy. They very well could be spoilers.
* Thank You Lane Kiffen for getting rid of that ugly Blue & Red uni combination.
* No team will go undefeated in the SEC this year. The losses will surprise many.

 * Alabama will absolutely embarrass A&M in their own house.

* Do Not sleep on my Tigers.

Fake News Aficionado "Newsman Dan" Still Out There Saying Dumb Sh*t

It’s not surprising to see Newsman Dan Rather carry water for 46* and his Democratic cohorts, but to see the disgraced ex-newsman essentially justify actions from the president that will prove catastrophic to Afghan women may be a new low for the Godfather of Fake News.

He did so while taking a stand for the killing of unborn children.

The left is losing its collective mind over the Supreme Court refusing to take action on a request to block a Texas law prohibiting most abortions after about six weeks of pregnancy. Taking effect today, the law ushered “in the most restrictive abortion law life saving measure in the nation.

And this is where our feminist hero comes into play, as Dan took to the Tweeter to slam those who had concerns about Biden leaving Afghan women to the mercy of the brutal Taliban, downplaying the plight of these women to protect his guy, while advocating for the right to kill unborn babies.
The tweet follows Arne Duncan, who served as Barky Obama’s Education Secretary, comparing the unvaccinated to suicide bombers at the Kabul airport. As for his tweet, Rather is saying those who care about the rights of women also care about protecting unborn babies, as if that’s a bad thing. But then, conservative Matt Walsh hit the nail on the head when it comes to the left’s fervid support for abortion.
Social media users were not kind to Rather over the tweet, with Life News suggesting that he may want to sit down:
* "You support killing little girls in abortions. Sit this one out."
* "Dude fundamentally misunderstands the pro-life movement and sentiment. And comparing women's rights under Sharia Law to women's right in Western Democracies limiting the murder of the unborn reveal just how naive this cat is."
* "Right, the people who think dismembering babies is wrong are the ones who are similar to the Taliban. Pro-abortioners always have the most sound arguments."
It's worth noting that profit-seeking fake news took hold once people in the mainstream media became as arrogant and corrupted as Dan Rather.

Rarely has one image more perfectly captured the moment — and totality — of a man’s presidency.

Befuddled by time, disoriented by a riot of terrible decisions, and confused by the demand for answers......In an earlier time, the press would have hidden such a demoralizing picture........but there was no hiding this picture. And it was punctuated by what is perhaps an even worse picture. - Charles Hurt

Kamala, America Just Ain't Feeling It Sweetie

She's polling just slightly ahead of Tree Fungus..... but not because she's as unlikeable and unappealing as any democrat since that Clinton Woman......or because she couldn't out primary a loony Marianne Sparkleshine Stardust Williamson.  It has nothing to do with the angry black woman in Manolo Blahnik shoes act......or the cackling creepy Voodoo Witch persona she sometimes projects. Or anything really to do with her indifference to the violation of constitutional rights.  But it all certainly doesn't help.

DOD Desperate Attempt at Good PR 🤪

It's become obvious the last few days anyone in the Biden Administration involved in talking to the chaos in Afghanistan is trying to cover Biden's ass and make thing look as if they're running much better than they are, and score some good PR for themselves. But in the case of the inept Defense Department run by Biden's affirmative action Defense Secretary, Lloyd Austin, just took some buckshot to the face over tweet patting themselves on the back during the evacuations at Kabul airport.

The DOD tweeted complete with pictures of an Air Force plane:
"Afghan civilians board @usairforce C-17 Globemasters at Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan."
And the Defense Department couldn’t be prouder.

Just one problem, they can’t even get the messaging right. That’s not our damn plane.

It’s one from the United Arab Emirates. The flag is right there on the tail. You'd think they would check these things. You'd think..... Competence is just oozing all over the federal government right now. The fish rots from the head, and Biden has been an utter failure in executing this withdrawal.

Maybe if the Secretary Austin had spent less time hunting for boogie men in his ranks and payed attention to the business of "Taking Care of Business" his Deputies and his leadership wouldn't be such an embarrassment.

Biden’s shadow handlers picked other “experts” who seem almost as confused about things as he his. Like Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who always looks like he is way over his head has evidently forgotten what year it is.  On Face The Nation Blinkin says "he was on the phone with Pres Karzai the day before, when he was telling me his intent, as he put it, 'to fight to the death. Well, the next day he was gone."

Karzai left the office in 2014. You'd think.....

One would hope that America’s highest-level diplomat would know who the president of Afghanistan is, especially considering what’s happening there right now, and considering the fact that Joe Biden is ultimately responsible for what’s happening there right now.

When Biden entered the White House it was incumbent on his handlers, who ever they are, to surround him with competent, capable cabinet members who can steer him in the right direction and work as a counterbalance to his nonexistent grasp on, well, everything.

Instead, bad choices and Social Justice is making a mocker of America to the world.

Can You Name a Worst Job Than Javelin Catcher? How About Any Biden Administration Spox.

NB - To go along with two horrendously bad Pentagon press briefings and another at the State Department, the White House joined in Monday afternoon with another shellacking at the hands of the press corps on Afghanistan.

For this installment, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and Press Secretary Jen Psaki took fire from all angles, ranging from Fox News to NPR. Led by Fox’s Peter Doocy and Real Clear Politics’ Philip Wegmann, Team Biden was grilled about whether Americans have been “stranded” by their own government, whether Americans outside Kabul will be rescued, and how can the U.S. take to heart anything that emanates from the Taliban.

Sullivan first stepped to the plate and, after ducking introductory questions from CBS’s Nancy Cordes, CNN’s Phil Mattingly, and two others, NPR’s Ayesha Rascoe fired off a heater about “why didn't the administration prepare the American public” for the “rough” and “very chaotic scenes” inside Afghanistan if such images of death and heartbreak were inevitable, regardless of when the U.S. withdrew.

Fast-forward a few minutes to the one-two punch of Doocy and Wegmann, which featured the latter telling Sullivan that Biden “has criticized his predecessor,” “the Afghan army,” and “the Afghan government for all of their failures,” but not the Taliban. Sullivan responded to this humdinger by insisting Biden “has been very clear about his views of the Taliban” in not trusting them (even though they’ve said they need their help to get Americans and Afghan allies out of their clutches).

They really didn't expect such incoming. After all, they're democrats. Bless Their Hearts.
