How Dare They Dispute the King

Truth Revolt
A 24-year-old White House official monitors and flags tweets from reporters that the White House may disagree with, according to an article by Yahoo published Thursday.
Jessica Allen is tasked with monitoring the social media platform for tweets that push a narrative contrary to the White House's agenda. Allen then flags the conflicting tweets, and sends them up the Communications office food chain to all of President Obama's top aides, including chief of staff Denis McDonough, White House counsel Kathy Ruemmler, White House press secretary Jay Carney, and senior advisor and frequent media personality Dan Pfeiffer:
“The result? Reporters who regularly cover Obama have become familiar with seemingly out-of-the-blue emails or telephone calls from officials taking issue with their tweets — often thoughtfully and constructively, sometimes with obscenity-laced yelps of outrage.
Yahoo reports that many reporters who cover the White House hear regularly from White House officials who push back against the narrative of their stories.
CBS correspondent Mark Knoller says he has received "a few rockets" from Carney over his social media offerings, which occasionally cause him to edit the tweet, or the story itself.

A President Who Has Learned Nothing

"President Obama arrived in the White House in 2009 determined not to repeat his predecessor’s mistakes. But as with every general who sought to win the next war with the winning strategies employed in the last one, he has now a record of colossal miscalculations of his own to defend.
Obama remains forever locked in a time warp labeled 2008. Making a blunder is one thing but, as the president has demonstrated, not having the grace or the wit to recognize that you’ve made a mistake is far worse. Based on Mondays performance and the certain prospects of future humiliations at the hands of Putin, Assad, and Iran’s ayatollahs, Barack Obama will go down in history as the president who learned nothing." - Jonathan Tobin

Is White House Preparing for the Inevitable?

As the president flies off to Asia, the White House quietly put in place one of the top defense attorneys in the country to be Obama’s new White House Counsel.

While the media has noted Neil Eggleston’s newly elevated position inside of the Obama White House, what little coverage there has been ignores the fact that Eggleston has made his living, and his name, by defending those involved in serious political scandal.

I’ll repeat that for emphasis – Neil Eggleston defends those involved in serious political scandal, and now he has been made Barack Obama’s White House Counsel.

Eggleston was part of the Clinton administration defense during the Whitewater scandal, as well as two subsequent executive privilege battles. He also worked with the Bush administration in 2007 during yet another executive privilege dispute. And perhaps more important to the direct link to Barack Obama himself, Neil Eggleston was the one who provided current Chicago Mayor, and former Obama White House Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, legal defense during the infamous Rod Blagojevich trial that included a myriad of pay to play allegations that eventually resulted in the former Illinois governor being sent to jail, while Rahm Emanuel emerged relatively unscathed.

Eggleston’s current placement in the Obama White House is a clear signal by the administration that it is preparing for battle should Republicans win back the Senate following the November 2014 Elections, and for the first time, face the prospect of REAL congressional investigations into administration wrongdoing.

Neil Eggleston is not a political legal wonk. He is, first and foremost, a man who is called to protect politicians and/or administrations who find themselves in serious legal difficulties.

One More Reason to Look Toward 2014 & 2016

With one-third of the Supreme Court with one foot in the grave, and the long term results of Affirmative Action now running the country, the next two elections are as important to this country as ever.
"It ought to be possible, in short, for every American to enjoy the privileges of being American without regard to his race or his color…
As I have said before, not every child has an equal talent or an equal ability or an equal motivation, but they should have the equal right to develop their talent and their ability and their motivation, to make something of themselves. - John Marshall Harlan, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court 1963
You need only read a summation of Justice Sotomayor’s 58-page dissent, (starts on pg.51) where she piles one bad and misleading argument on another, to understand that liberalism is now in a position of insisting that subverting equal protection of the law is actually upholding it.

More Polish for the Obama Legacy

Clicky to Enlarge

Hope and B.S.

Clash Daily
"Last week Al Sharpton embraced convicted vote fraudster Melowese Richardson at a “voting rights” rally in Cincinnati. The United States Department of Justice under Eric Holder has done nothing to Melowese Richardson 410 days after she admitted on camera that she committed multiple federal felonies by voting six times for President Obama’s reelection."
"Federal law makes it a felony to vote more than once for President. In fact, 42 U.S.C. Section 1973i(e) subjects Richardson to twenty-five years in federal prison for her six votes for Obama.
The lack of DOJ action against an unrepentant federal vote fraudster combined with Richardson’s lionization by Sharpton and the organization that sponsored the rally demonstrates how the Justice Department is facilitating a culture of brazen criminality on the eve of the 2014 midterm elections. The failure to indict Richardson is the latest example of Holder’s department excusing lawlessness in federal elections and abandoning law abiding Americans."

NO More Tattoos, Lingerie or Strip Clubs for YOU!!!

Someone Has Finally Come to Their Senses Round Here

Louisiana welfare recipients will now be prohibited from spending the federal assistance at lingerie shops, tattoo parlors, nail salons and jewelry stores, under new limits enacted by state social services officials.  Also barred in the latest restrictions from taking welfare debit cards are video arcades, bail bond companies, cruise ships, psychics, adult-entertainment businesses, nightclubs, bars and any businesses where minors are not allowed.

Last year, the social services agency enacted new regulations that banned the spending of welfare money on cigarettes, alcohol and lottery tickets. Those regulations also included prohibitions on the use of a welfare electronic benefit card at liquor stores, gambling sites and Strip Clubs,  as required under a recently-passed federal law.

The Department of Children and Family Services announced the emergency regulations late Thursday. They cover the Family Independence Temporary Assistance Program — commonly known as welfare benefits — and the Kinship Care Subsidy Program.

Ruth Johnson
The previous legal misuse of welfare funds were in part instituted and overseen by this woman, Ruth Johnson who resigned her post last June as Louisiana's social services secretary, a position that oversees one of the largest agencies in state government, with a $949 million budget and more than 4,000 employees (that is one employee for every 1200 people in the state).

Thankfully for us, Johnson is now deputy director for finance and administration at the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.

Looking For A Clue.....

Nuking Politics
It was said that in about 400 BC Diogenes walked around the marketplace in Athens carrying a lamp, looking for an honest man. It was a complete waste of time, and I suppose he intended it as political commentary, but at least he didn't bother trying it in DC….
Obama has a very busy schedule. When he isn't golfing, vacationing, or attending A-list fundraisers, he's hard at work on foreign policy, the economy, or social inequality. At least that's what Jay Carney says. And somehow in the midst of it all, he finds time for late night comedy spots like the appalling example here.
Considering that his efforts in those areas are all colossal failures, what he needs to do is find some time to search, not for an honest man, but for a clue. Any clue. About anything.
The problem with that is this: Before someone sees the need to look for a clue, they must first acknowledge that they in fact need one. That would suggest that they already have one, because they're aware that something they're doing needs improvement. That kind of humility isn't something Mr Obama appears to be capable of.
Maybe if he ever finds one, he'll share it with his pals in DC, and with the people in the country who still support him.

Obama’s Worthless Threats

by Peter Wehner
"Oh, my. According to press reports,
President Barack Obama had condemned the violence in Ukraine, saying that the U.S. holds the government “primarily responsible for ensuring they are handling protesters peacefully” and that “there will be consequences if people step over the line.”
“We expect the Ukrainian government to show restraint, to not resort to violence,” Obama said after arriving in Mexico for a brief trade summit. “We expect peaceful protesters to remain peaceful.”
Have more empty words ever been uttered by an American president?
"In the aftermath of Mr. Obama telling the Syrian regime that using chemical weapons would cross a “red line,” and then doing nothing serious in response to it, the president’s latest threat is probably evoking belly laughs in Kiev.
It’s clear that around the globe today, the person who is respected and feared and shaping world events is not Mr. Obama, who is seen as an impotent amateur, but the brutal Vladimir Putin, who is reasserting Russian dominance in Ukraine and the Middle East, among other places.
We all know Barack Obama is weak and essentially powerless; he simply makes things worse with his bluster. He’s a pushover, and the entire world–our adversaries and our allies–know it."

No 'Three Amigos' Summit for Obama This Time

Just another glaring example of lack of leadership
and poor standing in the world affairs.
National Journal
"When President Obama flies to Mexico on Wednesday to meet with his North American counterparts, he'll be reviving a continental leaders' meeting that George W. Bush envisioned as an annual event when he hosted the first one in 2005. That one went so well it was dubbed the "Three Amigos Summit." Then-Mexican President Vicente Fox praised Bush, saying he had "mastered the traditional male hug of Mexican culture, the abrazo."
"But Obama is not really the hugging kind."
"And he, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper are not really acting much like amigos these days. So don't expect a lot of abrazos during Obama's time in Toluca, the capital of the state of Mexico, about 40 miles southwest of Mexico City. There are problems among the leaders of the continent's three countries.
Mexico City is displeased that Obama has failed to push through immigration reform in the United States. And Ottawa is displeased that Obama has taken five years to make up his mind on its proposed Keystone XL pipeline into the United States with still no decision in sight. "Canada has been very frustrated over the years that the Keystone decision has been put off, delayed," said Joshua Meltzer, an expert on global trade at the Brookings Institution. He expects Harper "to push a little bit" to get Obama to move faster now that the State Department has issued its findings on the climate impact of the pipeline.
The schedule calls for Obama to meet separately with Peña Nieto soon after arriving in the Mexican president's hometown. Then, after a lunch with both of the other leaders, the U.S. president will have what the White House is calling a "walk and talk" with Harper."

Behind The Scenes, Democrats Dropping Obama Like An Empty Chair…

They're running for the hills, and rightly so.....
"Some in the Mainstream Media are well aware of the behind the scenes infighting that is reaching boiling point proportions among leading Democrats, but have chosen not to report on it. This is exactly the scenario R.I. indicated was happening during a number of Capitol Update reports on this blog. While Barack Obama remains aloof, and unwilling to engage in the actual work of governing, party leaders are scrambling to keep unity among their rank and file, with decreasing success. The anger among DEMOCRATS toward Barack Obama is both very real, and in some cases, bordering on outright rage as their political careers are now evaporating before their own eyes due in no small measure to the Obama White House and its parade of incompetent indifference."
Washington Examiner
"The divisions surfaced behind closed doors Friday when Mr. Obama visited House Democrats at their annual retreat in Cambridge, Md., for a party pep talk. What Mr. Obama and Vice President Joseph R. Biden encountered instead was entrenched opposition to the administration’s pursuit of a huge free-trade agreement with 12 Pacific Rim nations.
Mr. Biden was talking privately to lawmakers about the importance of Mr. Obama’s “pivot” to Asia when he addressed the subject of giving the president fast-track authority to negotiate a pending deal on the Trans-Pacific Partnership. Democratic lawmakers are adamantly opposed to trade promotion authority after taking a cue from labor allies who fear a loss of union jobs....."

The Hardest Working Man in Politics

Traditional, the President's day starts at 7:oo am, after all, in the Far East the day is done, in the Middle East our enemies are well into their mischievous ways (i.e. Benghazi), and our European economic partners and allies are 6 to 8 hours ahead of us are hard at work. It makes sense the president would be up early and briefed on the events of the world for the day.

While Calvin Coolidge and Ronald Reagan were not known for being early risers, both where in the Oval Office long before 9am.  Lyndon Johnson stayed up late, drinking Scotch and pouring over intelligence to choose bombing targets for missions over North Vietnam, took a long nap midday and started all over again. George W. Bush was an early to bed, early to rise well briefed war leader.

Barack Obama? Well....

I have watched with interest the schedule of our dear leader Barack Obama. Rarely does his announced schedule ever show him at work before 10am. Here is a sample (typical), last weeks schedule showing first and last official events of the day as released by the White House, compliments of Keith Koffler.

Friday - 1/31/14 - 9:45 am - Receives the Presidential Daily Briefing - 2:00 pm  - Discusses State of the Union via Google+ Hangouts; Roosevelt Room
Monday - 2/3/14 - 10:45 am - Receives the Presidential Daily Briefing - 2:30 pm - Meets with Harry Reid
Tuesday - 2/4/14 - 9:45 am - Receives the Presidential Daily Briefing -12:40 pm -Lunch with Biden - 4:30 pm - Meets with the House Democratic Caucus; East Room
Wednesday - 2/5/14 - 10:45 am - Receives the Presidential Daily Briefing - 4:45 pm - Meets with Secretary of State Kerry
Friday- 2/7/14 - 9:45 am - Receives the President Daily Briefing - 10:30 am - Departs the White House - 4:50 pm Arrives White House
Now to be fair to Dear Leader, the times do not include morning whining about Fox News over his bowl of oatmeal, shaving Michelle's back or practicing his putting skills in the resident halls. Nor do they reflect  secret late night meetings with the NSA, IRS, meetings with lapdog media like Al Sharpton, or just mulling over important decisions like appointing Soap Opera producers to an Ambassadorship to Hungry.
Just to be fair.

Former Team Obama Members Cashing in on The Big Bucks

We all remember the delightful Deputy Campaign Manager, Stephanie Cutter
No doubt, former Presidential Administration officials have left service to do well afterwards. From media, to consulting and lobbying, to University Presidents, the world opens up to them. But as members of a corrupt, non-transparent and poorly run administration, the Obama team seems to be cashing in extremely well.
"The West Wing is more in flux than usual. John Podesta's in as the new Fixer. Phil Schiliro is back to mend fences with Congress. Longtime Obama consigliere Pete Rouse is leaving. Reports have other White House vets delaying their departures until the ship feels righted.
But those departures will come – and likely sooner rather than later. And if their predecessors are any indication, the next wave of aides to jump will be able to leverage their experience and contacts into lucrative way private sector gigs.
Here's a look at ex-Obama aides who have done well by their work with the president.
David Axelrod
Old gig: Political guru and West Wing counselor -
New gig: Taking his guru-ness to the next level by establishing the Institute of Politics at the University of Chicago; advising clients in races as far-flung as Italy; living comfortably on the sale of his stake in two Chicago public affairs firms in 2009 for $3 million; working on his memoir due to be published in 2014 by Penguin Press; working as a paid political analyst for NBC News; a highly-paid member of the Washington Speakers Bureau.
 Stephanie Cutter
Old gig: Obama health-care strategist; deputy 2012 campaign manger
New gig: Yelling at Newt Gingrich daily on CNN's Crossfire; recently formed Precision Strategies with ex-Obama aides Jen O'Malley Dillon and Teddy Goff. "We built and managed a $1.2 billion start-up called the Obama campaign," their site says.
Mike Donilon
Old gig: Senior adviser to Vice President Joe Biden
New gig: This summer joined AKPD Message and Media—which just happens to be Axelrod's old firm and which was retained by Bill de Blasio's successful New York mayoral bid. His campaign paid the firm more than $7 million."

Presidential Powers Now Used to Free Crack Dealers

Obama wields his presidential powers to commute the sentences of eight crack dealers in first step toward balancing historic laws that 'unfairly punished' poor black people.

Anyone old enough to remember the crack epidemic of 1980's and 90's, an epidemic of death and destruction of lives by a highly addictive drug even more dangerous than the present meth problem, this should make little sense. In the black community, the rise of gangs and the violence associated that came with crack has not ceased to this day.

But, it is the Age of Obama....

"In a move designed to redress the glaring racial disparity between those serving sentences for crack possession and those jailed for carrying cocaine, President Obama commuted the prison sentences of eight people on Thursday after deciding their offenses did not justify the length of their time behind bars.

All eight were sentenced under old federal guidelines that treated convictions for crack cocaine offenses harsher than those involving the powder form of the drug and led to tens of thousands of black people serving long prison terms, while those caught with cocaine - who were more likely to be white - were handed lenient jail time.
Of the eight, some had been sentenced to life imprisonment for dealing crack cocaine at the age of only 17 because of harsher sentences created in the 1980s designed to fight what was seen as an epidemic of the highly addictive drug on the streets of America. It was enacted in 1986 when crack cocaine use was rampant and considered a particularly violent drug.
The president signed the Fair Sentencing Act in 2010 to cut penalties for crack cocaine offenses in order to reduce the disparity. But the act addressed only new cases, not old ones....."

ObamaCare Not First Bad Government Progam Rollout

Americans are furious over the inept rollout of Obamacare, but landmark legislation has a history of early backfires.

1863 Emancipation Proclamation:
Abraham Lincoln’s executive order freed an estimated 3.1 million slaves in the Confederacy which, according to his Democratic opponents, made it the “biggest jobs-killing government program of all time.” Initially, the law stated that those laboring less than 30 hours a week were considered part-time slaves and therefore were eligible only for limited freedom, prompting hundreds of plantation owners to reduce slave work-hours to avoid having to provide full-time freedom. This provision was later removed, along with plantations owning 50 or fewer slaves being exempt for the first year.

Similar to the Obamacare launch, not everyone eligible for Abe-olition was able to obtain it. Then-Secretary of Newly Designated Humans Services, Cathcart Theopholis, blamed the Confederacy, but later admitted the administration's early test runs had succeeded only in emancipating a horse and a couple of chickens.

1883 Pendleton Act:
Republican President Chester Arthur enacted the Pendleton Act, declaring that government jobs should be awarded, not as patronage, but based solely on merit. Democrats in Congress, 56 percent of whom said they had never heard of Chester Arthur, nonetheless opposed the law, calling it the, “biggest people-doing-lousy-jobs-killing government program of all time.”

Despite the obvious advantages of awarding government positions only to highly qualified individuals, the law has never been applied.

1890 Sherman Antitrust Act :
The Sherman Antitrust Act, signed by Republican President Benjamin Harrison, was the first U.S. law to take on big business by banning anticompetitive practices and limiting cartels and monopolies. A grass-roots group of everyday mining tycoons and railroad magnates immediately worked to repeal the law, which they said would be hardest on the working poor, and shot as many as 200 workers a day to prove it. Democratic opponents called the Act the “biggest dangerous-and-low-paying-jobs-killing government program of all time.”In a heroic speech, Democratic Sen. John Kenna of West Virginia filibustered the bill for 24 hours while seated in a bathtub full of clean, sweet-smelling Standard Oil.

Not unlike the pace of Obamacare, it was 10 years before the Act was actually enforced, but eventually it was, which is why companies like Microsoft, Google, Comcast and JP Morgan Chase don’t exist today.

The 19th Amendment, 1920:
Signed by Democrat President Woodrow Wilson, the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution said the right of citizens to vote could not be “denied or abridged on account of sex.” Despite the chauvinism of the time, the amendment was surprisingly popular among men, primarily because Wilson told them the law meant only women who had sex with them could vote.

In the backlash that followed, Republicans in the House of Representatives threatened to repeal the amendment until their wives asked if they’d like to be known ever after as “The Blue Ball Congress.” The threats were rescinded.

Thanks to female participation, 8 million more votes were cast in the election of 1920 than in 1916. Polling places were overwhelmed and ill equipped to handle the stress. The New York Plutocrat wrote: “The curtains around the voting both do not reach to the floor, enabling all and sundry to observe, unobstructed, the ankles of the lady voters. For shame!”
