New York Times’s columnist David Brooks complained the media had a four year vacation from doing their job and is “once again” having to cover the large amount of news Trump generates.

Americans’ trust in the establishment media to report current events “fully, accurately and fairly” plummeted to a record low in 2024, Gallup polling found in October. The decline in trust indicates the media lost credibility due to pushing false narratives, such as Hunter Biden’s laptop story, Russian collusion, the source of the 2020 pandemic, the January 6 investigation, and numerous hoaxes."

The Next Four Are Going To Be Eventful

The media cultists and pundits, whose duty it is to explain the doings of the world to a much more simple-minded citizenry, are having a hard time translating the Second Coming of Trump in a way that they are comfortable with. It was not hard for them the first time around. It is never hard for them to talk down to us, knowing we will never quite grasp the insight they patiently but condescendingly share. I believe that they had in their collective mind visions of Andrew Jackson’s first inauguration, which saw a wash of back-woods types end up partying in the White House in their dirty shirts and muddy boots. But for fear that we common types were not well-read enough to know the reference, they just stuck with crude, rude and Russian collusion.

This time it is much harder to discount the election results as a stunning, one-off upset due to right-wing trickery, some easily fooled serfs in backward fly-over territory and, of course, Russian “disinformation”. There was, of course, no whiskey-fueled trashing of the White House as in Jackson’s time.

I don’t think DJT quite understood what he was up against in his first term. But I think he does now. And I think the Democrats recognize that Trump has figured all this out, and they’re scared to death.

Off Into the Sunset Goes the Old Fool.

Last night a few of us gathered and opened a celebratory bottle of Woodford Reserve Double Oaked bourbon to toast the departure of the worst President of many of our lifetimes. I know many will disagree, but I wish Joe Biden nothing but peace and comfort in his final years. Because I'm confident he’ll “Get his” in the next life.

I also hope that future historians, for the sake of truth and the honor of their profession, will correctly record him as a foolish, deeply corrupt, and fundamentally dishonorable man, and a disgrace to his country. He is a despicable man, always has been. He used his offices to enrich himself and his family and to benefit our enemies or his profit. Biden did awful damage because he’s a fool and a crook. Now out of office, he personally can do no more harm.

Yes, those who have been propping him up for the past four years are still hiding in their homes and under rocks in D.C. and are at this moment scheming.  That's for 47 to deal with for the next four years, and we can only hope his armor remains strong.
