“No New Yorker is above the law — especially those who try to ignore public safety laws and create dangerous situations for pedestrians, bikers and drivers.“For years, these owners have ignored public safety laws and have driven dangerously in one of the busiest areas of the City. This seizure marks the end of the road for these scofflaw ice cream vendors. ” New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio. The city began seizing 46 ice cream trucks Wednesday. The trucks allegedly parked near fire hydrants and blocked pedestrian walkways, according to the city's complaint filed last week. Ice cream trucks tend to stop when there are customers. The group targeted allegedly accrued 22,000 summonses for parking violations between 2009 and 2017, according to the city. Many of the violations cause dangerous situations throughout busy Midtown blocks, according to a copy of the city's complaint filed last week. I guess going after the millions owed in parking fines around the United Nation's building is too much of a bother.
"Democrats have reason to worry about the Senate — their party is reliant on a coalition of voters predominantly situated in and around major population centers, making it harder to compete in rural states, which get the same number of senators regardless of population. Indeed, the more densely populated a state is, the more it tends to lean Democratic."Currently, 31 states lean more Republican than the country as a whole, according to FiveThirtyEight’s analysis. That’s partly why Republicans currently hold a 53-seat majority in the Senate, according to the analysis site. Both D.C. and Puerto Rico are seen as reliably Democratic. Making those two entities states would add four additional “blue” seats to the Senate, boosting Democrats’ chances of retaking the majority. But given that Republicans control the Senate majority and the White House, Democrats’ plan is likely years away. Essentially no one is predicting Democrats will retake the majority in the Senate in 2020.

I think America has been awakened to the dangers of this short-term thinking. I think conservatives, I think highly educated women in suburbs, they are gone from the Trump Republican Party forever.
So I think that we need to take Bret’s warning, it is a global trend. I am hopeful though, as Gene said, nobody will be lulled to sleep in 2020 by Donald Trump’s lies and misinformation. By the way, Mika, a lot of those people that still say that, they are white. It is the equivalent of the band on the RMS Titanic continuing to play as the historically doomed voyage neared its tragic conclusion only this time the iceberg is DJT, who despite the left’s hysteria, looks likely headed toward re-election next year while Democrats dither away with hate their already slim chances. Sucks for you Joe!
