My big concern — which I expressed many times to Twitter — is for the safety of these contributors. What happens when a high-ranking Birdwatcher whose note does well on a Ted Cruz tweet is featured on Tucker Carlson? They say user safety is top of mind but ... you know.— Brandy Zadrozny (@BrandyZadrozny) January 25, 2021

The Notion That the Tweeter Machine is the Place to go for Info on What's Happening — Destroyed by Twitter.
I would love to read an essay on the ever-morphing definition of misinformation/disinformation. Seems that it has gone from being a description of Holocaust denial/anti-vax to a word to tag any content that seems to help the political right? https://t.co/jdwLu2Uxdv— Bari Weiss (@bariweiss) October 15, 2020
You're seeing the immense, unchallengeable, unaccountable power of Silicon Valley giants over the flow of information. Imagine if Google joins in.— Glenn Greenwald (@ggreenwald) October 14, 2020
What's so amazing is that they never wanted this role. It was foisted on them by people, led by journalists, demanding they censor: https://t.co/cFBfV97Ylt

Satirical tweeter accounts like Titania McGrath, created by comedian Andrew Doyle as a radical intersectionalist poet and activist who, in spite of her immense privilege, is convinced that she is oppressed, are being censored with extreme prejudice.
Twitter is suspending satirical accounts that make fun of wokeness. All this has done is prove the satirists’ point -- that wokeness is an authoritarian, humourless ideology. Silicon Valley nerds need to lighten up.https://t.co/akywxEMuFr— spiked (@spikedonline) August 18, 2020
Jonathan Swift would not have fared well on Twitter, nor Voltaire or Diderot. Satire is part of Western tradition. That's why it is loathed by the Left.
Ironically, Twitter’s purge of the anti-woke satirists is a complete vindication of their work. In banning those who make fun of wokeness and criticise its censoriousness, Twitter has made it even clearer how authoritarian that wokeness is. It has also shown wokeness to be totally humourless mindset.
