From Jackie O. to Michelle O.

Fifty years ago today pop-culture icon, unabashed sex hound, serial philanderer and 35th President John Fitzgerald Kennedy of the accursed Kennedy clan, was assassinated by either one person acting alone, one person acting in conspiracy with another fellow hanging out on a grassy knoll in relatively plain sight, or the multitudes of higher-ups at the CIA with or without the sanction of the Vice President.
  
Despite, or perhaps even because of “JFK“‘s licentiousness and debauchery, he is a hero of the left. This is also despite and not because of, his political policies that rival those of modern-day Republicans.  

The assassination also plays a significant part in his idolization by the left. He became a legendary martyr. What’s more historically romantic than a handsome man, relatively young with sad blue eyes and the tan of a yachting enthusiast, in an extramarital relationship with Hollywood’s most famous sex symbol and at the height of his political career, in the midst of an adoring crowd and being cheered wildly when  a bullet fired from the sixth-floor window of a nearby building rips through his skull killing him instantly, his wife beside him? 

Contrary to popular myth,Jackie Kennedy was not a particularly pretty woman. No, really. A person’s eyes cannot possibly be farther apart from each other than Jackie O.’s were. But she was the wife of John F. Kennedy. People were blinded by her pop-culture status. Her real “beauty” was not a fact, in fact, but abstract. 

That’s not to say that Mrs. Kennedy was undignified or classless. She was elegant.

She was photographed often, but she was unobtrusive. She largely accepted the role of First Lady as the role it was intended: the President's wife. No more, no less. A First Lady ought not to be advocating for this program or that program or pushing legislation through Congress; First Ladies are not elected, so they should remain detached from public policy.

Barack Obama was elected only a few years older than JFK was when he took office in 1961. Obama’s youth was used as a selling point, romanticized, for his 2008 election. “He’s like John F. Kennedy!” said the unbiased political pundits. “Oh, and his wife is so elegant, so classy just like Jackie Onassis!”

But not really. Obama’s and Kennedy’s similarities do not extend beyond age; they especially do not extend over to their respective wives’ classiness.

Monday, Michelle Obama was on 106 & Park, a rap/talk show on Black Entertainment Television. Mrs. Obama’s blackness—she is black, you may have heard—means that no matter what status she has as First Lady of the United States, she must still degrade that position by going on BET, the same network that spreads filth like Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Li’l Wayne, Jay-Z, and…  and now Michelle Obama, apparently.

What is going on in her mind? My guess: “Hey, just because I’m the First Lady doesn’t mean I can’t do my part gettin down with the aficionados of women degrading gang-romanticizing music by appearing on gang-romanticizing TV network. I’m black first, dignified second.”

To be fair, she wasn’t on the show to talk about music, but to talk about her personal life. Which makes sense considering, one, it’s a talk show, and two, it’s what the audience, including its two white people, wanted to hear. They’re black too, after all, just like Michelle; the running attitude among them is that they’re all brothas and sistas.

The 50th anniversary of JFK’s death is here. The juxtaposition of the classy Jackie Kennedy with the First Lady of BET Michelle Obama, is something to behold. Or should I say embarrassing....

The Evolving Language of ObamaCare:

"The Obama administration once gave us 'man-caused disasters' for acts of terrorism and 'workplace violence' for the Fort Hood shootings. Now it has trumped those past linguistic contortions by changing words to mask the Obamacare disaster.

The president and his advisors apparently knew long ago that millions of the insured would face cancellations or premium hikes once Obamacare would be fully implemented. Yet to get the 906-page bill passed, they had to convince the public of the very opposite scenario. So they repeated ironclad guarantees that no one would lose their coverage or doctors -- 'period!'

Now the administration explains the deception by going after both the ethics of the insurers and the intelligence of the previously insured. That task required language to be altered. The newly canceled health plans are suddenly rebranded by the administration as 'subpar.' Only in autumn 2013 is the supposedly unaware public told that, years ago, 'bad apple' insurance companies sold them 'substandard' plans." - Victor Davis Hanson

Charles Manson, the most notorious killer of the twentieth century, has found himself a lovely young lady who is super-excited to marry him. Rolling Stone has an in-depth feature on Manson coming out in their next issue and Wednesday they dropped the surprising news of Charlie’s engagement. Here he is sporting a new Miley Cyrus haircut with his bride-to-be:

The young woman is simply named Star, a name Manson gave her. Now 25, she started following Manson’s writing at 19 and moved to be near his prison in 2007. She was initially drawn to his pro-environmental writing, and has recently carved an X into her forehead in apparent solidarity with Charlie’s own swastika marking.

“I’ll tell you straight up, Charlie and I are going to get married,” she tells Rolling Stone. “When that will be, we don’t know. But I take it very seriously. Charlie is my husband. Charlie told me to tell you this,” she continues. “We haven’t told anybody about that.”

Charlie himself seems to be having cold feet. “Oh that,” he says he says of the pressure for marriage like a typical guy. “That’s a bunch of garbage. You know that, man. That’s trash. We’re just playing that for public consumption.”

What public consumption he means isn’t exactly clear, since the couple probably won’t be registering anywhere. At any rate, married or no, the probably won’t get any conjugal visits because as Star explains, “California lifers no longer get them.”

An Open Door America

In the past week, our U.S. Congress tabled the egregious mistake of amnesty bill S744 projected to render a free pass for 20 million illegal migrants and their families. It also raises legal immigration from 1.0 million annually to 2.0 million. For the moment, the American people stand a chance of not allowing an unending flood of humanity into the United States to drive our population to over 100 million added immigrants within four decades.

At the current rate of mass legal immigration of 1.0 million annually, we remain on course to add 100 million immigrants, their children and chain-migrated relatives by 2050—a scant 37 years from now. That’s enough people to duplicate the populations of our top 20 cities within the United States.

We would have to water, house, warm, transport, feed, work, educate and medicate 100 million more people. That fact alone should sober the most optimistic individuals in America. It should cause every single one of our 535 Congressional critters to stand back to “see” the enormous tragedy their actions portend for all Americans of every race, creed or color.

The “Gang of Eight” U.S. Senators who created the amnesty bill S744 will prove some of the dumbest, most unintelligent nincompoops ever to walk the halls of Congress for their sheer stupidity in formulating that bill.

Please realize that Congress continues to push to pass amnesty. They won’t enforce our laws, our president won’t enforce our laws; but they can’t wait to legalize lawbreakers and employers who hire those lawbreakers.

What lies below the surface of adding 100 million immigrants? We know that we face horrific energy depletion with that many added persons to our civilization. But most don’t posses a clue as to what lies beneath the waters of such a population-load on America.
