Leftist Based Instinct

It’s not the chant: “No Trump, No KKK, No Fascist USA!” that is foremost in the minds of the progressive-left. That’s just the one they send snowflake screechers out to grab public attention when screaming helplessly at the night sky.  The never-ending mantra of the progressive-left is: “Hey, Hey!”, “Ho,” Ho!” Donald Trump has got to go!”  That’s the chant that’s their driving force, the one they mindlessly repeat to themselves as they go about their shady business; the chant they plan to scream without end after they’ve managed to bring the Harvey Weinstein, Roy Moore sexual harassment charges back onto President Donald Trump, the last one before the “IMPEACH HIM!” finale, which has been their intention all along.

They’re likely out hunting for Trump sexual harassment victims right now, grooming them down to a ’T’ before parading them out for introduction by a waiting and pre-prepped mainstream media. - Read More

Police Bodycam Advocates Now Claim Body Cameras Are
'Threat To Civil Rights'

BLM- Civil rights advocates demanded accountability from law enforcement agencies through the use of bodycams in the wake of the Ferguson riots. Police departments nationwide implemented bodycams at considerable expense to satisfy their critics and provide more “transparency” in law enforcement.  The result? A new report from The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights said that bodycams pose a “threat to civil rights.”

The report, “The Illusion of Accuracy: How Body-Worn Camera Footage Can Distort Evidence," was released on Tuesday, according to Newsweek.  A big concern listed in the report is an officer's ability to watch the footage whenever they want, including before they write incident reports. “Unrestricted footage review places civil rights at risk and undermines the goals of transparency and accountability," Vanita Gupta, current leader of the Leadership Conference, a civil rights attorney, former ACLU director, and former acting assistant attorney general of the civil rights division under former President Obama.

The report claimed that an officer's memory of an event may be altered by watching bodycam video footage, and reports written by the officer about the incident would then also be altered. The problem appears to be that defense attorneys can't pick at minor differences between an officer's memory and what's recorded on video.  It’s also a potent tool for exonerating officers falsely accused of misconduct.

The Leadership Conference called for police departments to institute "a clean reporting policy” where an officer would write an initial report before viewing the footage. Some policing experts, such as Lance LoRusso, disagree. LoRusso, a former police officer and current Atlanta attorney who represents police officers, said that police officers should view the body-cam footage before writing a report. "This specter that every time an officer looks at the video they’re going to lie and adapt their statement just is infuriating because we want the officers to write the most accurate report they can,” he said. Since one major purpose of bodycam footage is to keep all parties involved honest and “transparent,” the Leadership Conference’s one-sided approach doesn’t make any sense.

Civil rights groups don’t have a problem with bodycam footage until it’s used to exonerate a police officer, or shows that suspects and victims have threatened police, or behaved badly during a recorded incident. At that point, bodycams become a threat to civil and constitutional rights, according to Gupta’s assessment.

The Cult of Liberalism in Action. You Must Conform!

No sooner had men's magazine GQ disgraced itself with its choice of cover heroes again by naming the the left's prince of grievance Colon Kaepernick, “Citizen of the Year”, than women's magazine Marie Claire decided to say “Hold my beer” and offer up this tweet:

Now, I do not follow Taylor Swift, listen to her music and couldn’t pick one of her tunes out of a police lineup. But I know that she is phenomenally successful, and as such the Cult of Liberalism is demanding she throw in with the rest of the celebrity mob on behalf of liberalism, or “explain” why she didn’t.  I think conformity with liberalism is in all of their union contracts. I guess the left thinks if Swift had come out forcefully against Trump (which would give a whole new meaning to Swift-boating), it would have swayed some of those dumb white voters in Wisconsin or something.

Needless to say, this ham-handedness unleashed a glorious torrent of sarcastic abuse directed at Marie Claire and the Cult of the Left. Here's just a sample from the Tweeter:

Beyond this well-deserved mockery is a deeper and more serious lesson, only hinted at by calling liberalism a secular cult. Almost all social phenomena have become politicized, and almost all social problems are assumed to have only political solutions.........where once individuals saw their problems as private and sought private solutions for them, now they seek political solutions.

Media Can't Cover the Bob Menendez Trial Because Trump!

If you didn't already know about it you'd probably have no idea watching the national media that a sitting Democrat Sleazeball Senator was currently at the center of a massive corruption and bribery trial. That's because the trial has enjoyed what amounts to a media blackout since it began.

Here's how the charges were (briefly) laid out by the Washington Post:
Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) was indicted on federal corruption charges Wednesday, accused of using the influence of his office to advance the business interests of a longtime friend and political supporter in exchange for luxury gifts, lavish vacations and more than $750,000 in campaign donations.
The laundry list of Menendez's ethical issues actually goes a whole lot deeper, since those "lavish vacations" allegedly involved the hiring of prostitutes, said to be underage, in the Dominican Republic.  Virtually no Dem-friendly media outlet has even touched it, ans we all know why. The bias is so obvious that no one seriously tries to deny it anymore.

Still, media hacks like MSNBC's overly wound-tight Larry O'Donnell occasionally try to pretend they're doing their best to cover these sorts of stories. According to O'Donnell, they simply can't.

The reason? Donald Trump. It's seems Trump is so awful that they have no choice but to ignore Democrat corruption. Trump is on Twitter, you know, and there are only so many hours in the day.
“If we had anyone else in the White House, if we had any other president in the White House, any other of the Republicans that were running for president, never mind, have Hillary Clinton as president, the Menendez trial would be a very big item in all of our coverage. But this is what Donald Trump has done to coverage; the trying to keep up with everything the president is generating on a given day is just overwhelming. You don’t want your president tweeting all the time or at all if you’re a Republican."
Uh-huh. So because they have to cover Trumps Twitter activity, MSNBC can't cover Bob Menendez's corruption trial. Got it! I suspect the real reason Lawrence O'Donnell personally doesn't have time to cover the Menendez trial is that he's still too busy trying to find out who is doing that HAMMERING!!!!
