Monday Linky Randomness

A Breeding Ground for Thoughtlessness and Contempt. Twitter is poison to American political discourse. In fact, if you set out to design a platform that would poison America’s discourse and its politics, you’d be hard pressed to come up with something more destructive than Twitter. Twitter has the flaws of the old Usenet newsgroups, but on a much bigger scale.

Worse yet, the heaviest users of Twitter are journalists and political operatives. They tend to have lots of short episodes of downtime and fill them with Twitter. There’s a big psychic reward to issuing a bon mot — usually a put-down — and being cheered for it by your friends and political allies. But the end result is a lot of off-the-cuff meanness. Few tweeters even follow the links they retweet to read beyond the headline. And spending hours a day in this environment can’t help but affect their other work.

Some say the sharp partisanship we see on Twitter from allegedly objective journalists is a useful revelation: Finally, we’re seeing their true selves. There’s much truth to that.

Thank You WHATFINGER NEWS for the Linkage!

Al Sharpton Sells Rights to His Life Story. No,Really.

NYP - The Rev. Al Sharpton has found an eager buyer for the rights to his life story — his own charity.

The National Action Network agreed to pay the activist preacher $531,000 according to the non-profit’s latest tax filing, which was obtained by The Post. NAN can apparently turn around and sell those rights to Hollywood or other takers at a big profit, but neither the reverend nor the charity would identify what producers are waiting for such Sharpton content.

The document does not indicate when Sharpton, who is president of NAN, gets the cash, which is above and beyond the $244,661 he already pulled down in compensation from the group in 2017. Sharpton also wouldn’t say when the cash would come in.

Sharpton said he had contracts for two movies, with a third contract in the works. One of these movies is already in production, he claimed. He would not provide details of any of the projects. He said a play was being shopped around and there were other assets that would generate revenue for NAN, including a recording where James Brown is singing and he’s talking, and video footage of him with Michael Jackson.

Nonprofit experts said the transaction could be troubling because NAN — whose mission includes criminal justice reform and police accountability — was doing business with its president. If NAN paid too much it could run afoul of IRS rules regarding excess benefits given to a nonprofit’s key officials, which might put its tax-exempt status in jeopardy, Marcus Owens, a former IRS official and a partner with the Loeb & Loeb law firm in Washington, DC.

Daniel Borochoff, the head of Charity Watch, said the transaction would have been “a lot cleaner” if Sharpton sold the rights himself to a production company and then donated any profit in excess of $531,000 to NAN.

Sharpton, who hosts the “PoliticsNations” show on MSNBC, managed to pay off a chunk of his tax debt to the state and feds in the last year. He paid $172,112 to the state, but still owes $736,375 in personal income tax and taxes for three of his companies to Albany. City records show a $1.3 million tax lien to the IRS was satisfied in February, but records show he still has $2.5 million in outstanding federal liens against him and one of his companies.

No Country For Old Grifters

Madam Cankles and Willy J. Visit The Canucks

The Grifter Twins appeared on stage together in Montreal for the second stop of their 'We Are Still Relevant Tour' Wednesday night. The power couple most Americans wish would just go away, stirred controversy in Toronto the night before as they launched their speaking tour by boldly accusing Donald Trump of a Saudi 'cover-up' in the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Bill and Hillary spoke to the crowd for an hour at the Bell Centre and indicated the U.S. should be following our more sophisticated betters above the border, they being much more economic and culturally evolved, and a superior model of diversity.
"Canada has done such a good job of both managing its contemporary diversity and it has a very interesting immigration system, and yet it’s still Canada. And I just think that you can model the idea that you can become more diverse and still keep your culture and your values. It’s really very good for a modern economy. The United States will have to return to that if it expects to play a positive role in the future. It’s going to be very bleak indeed if we all become more authoritarian and more homogenized and hunkered down on ourselves. It would be a big mistake. We shouldn’t do it."
They also got a warm reception from the crowd as the Grifters joined in the leftist fad of criticizing America's leadership while on foreign soil as they jabbed at the Trump administration from north of the border. 'What makes this so troubling is how much commercial interest both the president's family and business and his son in law's family and business have with the kingdom,' Hillary said in just one of the many jabs at Trump, although neither Grifter Twin referred to DJT by name throughout the evening.

Meanwhile: FBI agents raided the home of a recognized Department of Justice whistleblower who privately delivered documents pertaining to the Clinton Foundation and Uranium One to a government watchdog, according to the whistleblower’s attorney. The Justice Department’s inspector general was informed that the documents show that federal officials failed to investigate potential criminal activity regarding former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the Clinton Foundation and Rosatom, the Russian company that purchased Uranium.

SJW Nazis @HuffPost Go After Children's Christmas Classic

Among the observations was the suggestion that the TV classic was a story about racism and homophobia, while calling Santa Claus abusive and bigoted. “Yearly reminder that #Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is a parable on racism & homophobia w/Santa as a bigoted exploitative prick,” read one comment shared by HuffPost.

"Santa’s operation is an HR nightmare and in serious need of diversity and inclusion training." Some eagle-eyed social media critics also said the cartoon is sexist because Rudolph’s mom was snubbed after she wanted to help reindeer husband Donner to search for their son after he goes missing. “No, this is man’s work.”

Just the Most Recent Example of Unabashed Bigotry of the Left

In Leftist fakery and propaganda, several stories highlight the troubling trend towards taqqiya and bust out Joo-Hate. I guess that when you think about it, it should come as no surprise given who and what are now the faces and positions of the Democrat Party. So like everything else, the media is gently laying the groundwork for the normalization of anti-semitism and anti-Israel attitudes in the America.

In the lead, CNN's own Mark Lamont Hill, a man (on paper) who has the intellectual agility of a used toothbrush was feted at some UN International Day of Solidarity with the fictitious "Palestinian" people for essentially calling for the destruction of Israel and the condoning of violence to achieve same, National Public Radio assuring us with 100% confidence that there is no anti-semitism in Iran, the New York Times giving us the last word that Mohammed was a "paragon of compassion" and pay no regard to what it says in the Koran despite it being the literal words of Mohammed, and remember that lone-wolf (pfft) terror attack on Jews in LA? Well, neither does the media.

* UPDATE: CNN has severed ties with contributor Marc Lamont Hill. Don Lemon Hit Hardest. We're taking bets he he'll ironically insist he was fired because of racism.  But, he now has more time to hang with friends.....
