The Problem with American Politics

John Dingle Sr. Elected to congress 13 time  1932-1955
John Dingle Jr. Elected to congress 29 time 1955-2012

Unfortunately, the Founding Fathers misjudged the integrity of future generations. Their concept of a "Citizen Legislator" has long died away.....

Even Obama Sycophants Can See The Light

Chris Matthews is convinced that the GOP will control both chambers of Congress in 2015.  MSNBC's senior Obama Cheerleader  proclaimed on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday that the Democrats are likely to lose at least five seats in the Senate this November, calling it a “rosy scenario” if that’s all the party loses. He predicts, however, that as many as ten Democratic seats could flip at the end of the day.

“To the Democrats, this election, a rosy scenario is to lose five Senate seats, not six,” he said. “They could lose 10. And so what they’ve said is, ‘If we’re going to lose 10 seats potentially,’ and they could well do that, a big sweep, they’re going to the battle stations.”
Matthews attributes this probable shift to the fact that both parties – not just the Democrats - have spent the last few months pandering to their bases and not moderates, thus putting Democrats at a disadvantage in a year in which the GOP already has the advantage.  Matthews is not alone in questioning whether the Democratic Party can keep the Senate this fall, either.

Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz admitted the morning after the State of the Union that while she thinks Democrats can win a few seats in the House this November, she’s doubtful the party will win back the chamber. Republicans currently have a 33-seat majority in the lower chamber.

“Yes, I do think in 2015, I’m not going to confidently predict that Democrats will take the House back, but what I will predict is that we’re going to pick up seats,”
Republicans, knowing the electoral math is in their favor, have even begun to campaign in traditionally Democratic areas to strengthen their ranks in Congress.

A Good Monday Morning

Alec Baldwin Gives NYC and MSNBC the Finger

"I just can’t live in New York anymore," Alec Baldwin writes in a gripe-filled
essay in New York magazine.

Everybody's favorite liberal loose cannon and angry white guy, Alec Baldwin, who has a thing for assaulting NY paparazzi over the past few years says that he has had enough of New York.

“I just can’t live in New York anymore.  “Everything I hated about L.A. I’m beginning to crave. “L.A. is a place where you live behind a gate, you get in a car, your interaction with the public is minimal,” he explained in the most recent rant. “I used to hate that. But New York has changed.”
Maybe he just saw his tax bill for 2013.  In any case his says he's out a there.

Besides whining about being bothered by the great unwashed, most interesting was Baldwin’s vitriol aimed at MSNBC, which pulled the plug on his droning talk show following one of many altercations with a photographers:
"I watched MSNBC, prior to working there, very sporadically. Once I had signed a contract with them, I wanted to see more of what they were about. It turned out to be the same shit all day long. The only difference was who was actually pulling off whatever act they had come up with. Morning Joe was boring. Scarborough is neither eloquent nor funny. And merely cranky doesn’t always work well in the morning. Mika B. is the Margaret Dumont of cable news. I liked Chris Jansing a lot. Very straightforward. I like Lawrence O’Donnell, but he’s too smart to be doing that show. Rachel Maddow is Rachel Maddow, the ultimate wonk/dweeb who got a show, polished it, made it her own.
"Now I loathe and despise the media in a way I did not think possible. I used to engage with the media knowing that some of it would be adversarial, but now it’s superfluous at best and toxic at its worst. If MSNBC went off the air tomorrow, what difference would it make? The problem with everybody on MSNBC is none of them are funny, although that doesn’t prevent them from trying to be."
He blamed network star Rachel Maddow for pushing for his firing, calling her “a phony who doesn’t have the same passion for the truth off-camera that she seems to have on the air.

Tell us sumptin we don't know Alec.

I Almost Forgot My Black History Month Post....

Great Moments in Black History

A young Barry Soetoro, after missing the ball on the 3rd strike, turns to
the umpire and announces he is changing the rules.

Little Barry's continuing failure to hit the ball proved to be a preview of
much bigger failure in the future.

Note: Eventually, Barry grew up, changed his name and played with other balls.

Olympic Security Issues Alert for Two Possible Suspects

(MFNS) - SOCHI – Just hours before the closing ceremony for the 2014 Sochi  Winter Olympics, Russia has issued an alert for two potential terror suspects.

Fear swept the Olympic village and surrounding area on the Black Sea as details emerged of the possible terrorist attack by the unlikely combination of two suspects, believed to be Jihadist converts, reportedly from Frostbite Falls, Minnesota. The two were identified as Mr. Bullwinkle J. (Abdul) Moose and Rocket J. (Baraq) Squirrel. Russian officials believe their identity may indicate a connection to Canadian separatists.

Russian Security Expert Boris Badenov

A friend of the two, historical expert Mr. Peabody, said that any terrorist connection was preposterous and “indubitably unprovable.” An e-mail from Mr. Squirrel’s attorney merely said, “Hokey Smoke!”

“We thinking this is classic lone-wolf, err– lone-moose type suicide bomber, world’s greatest no-goodnik,” said Boris  Badenov, a Russian expert on security and espionage who announced heightened security measures to catch the pair. He was joined by Colonel Natasha Fatale of the FSB.

“Security is going so well darling,” Ms. Fatale told reporters, before adding, “until we got word of *&%#@*! moose and squirrel!”

News of this development has only aggravated tensions, as Russian security forces are already under intense scrutiny for failing to catch a pair of Chechen terrorists who planted a cartoonishly-large bomb with a long white wick which failed to detonate at a train station in Volgograd.  When asked how Russian intelligence would prevent any additional lapses in security, Mr. Badenov explained “Fearless Leader says any more screw-ups will result in comrade agents being liquidated!” To help enhance security before the closing ceremonies, Russia has reportedly also enlisted the aid of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
