Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi was appointed the honorary 'President of the Rio Grande' by the mayor of Laredo Texas, Pete Saenz, during a ceremony in Laredo on Friday. The Mayor explained to the crowd that before joining the United States, Laredo was the Capitol of the Republic of the Rio Grande.

“While the Republic was short-lived, ten months in all, we still have that spirit of freedom.  So, it’s my honor, Madam Speaker, to present to you the keys of our city but also to be the honorary president of the Republic of the Rio Grande.”

Saenz then presented Pelosi with a key to the city and a framed proclamation. “Hey, we have a woman president,” Pelosi said and called the honor “unfathomable,” adding that she would display the proclamation in the Speaker’s office with “great pride.”

Now I find it a bit ironic, as I'm sure my many Texan friends will too, that Pelosi is given such an honor seeing the The Republic of The Rio Grande was an attempt at independence from Mexico that was brutally put down by a controlling authoritarian government, you know, the kind that Pelosi and her minions represent, or that Pelosi was honored for anything at all inside the borders of the Great State of Texas. But, here we are.

Interesting to note how the Chicago Police looked at this because of the nature of Chicago ethnic-driven politics combined with the fear of the city turning into the next Ferguson, MO.

The whole thing was so patently fraudulent and ineptly executed, to the extent that the closed circuit security camera that Smollett thought would capture the incident was pointed in the wrong direction. And that there is a massive bullet that was dodged. Even with the confirmation of this as a hoax, that video would no doubt have joined the pantheon of racialist fraud memes alongside "Hands-Up-Don't-Shoot!," "I Can't Breathe!" and the innocent-as-the-day-he-was-born graduation photo of Trayvon Martin (not the one of him flashing Flava-Flav dentures and gang hand signs). - J.J. The media . . . they go along with things like this in their publish-or-perish, never-let-a-rumor-go-to-waste, the-bigger-the-lie,-the-easier-it-is-to-sell total abandonment of their own journalistic standards. Their problem is that they so desperately WANT the Smollett claims and Kavanaugh rumors and Phillips accusations to be true so they can discredit Trump that they attack his supporters just because of their hats.

Smollett and his fake hate-crime report took overworked detectives away from real cases in Chicago, one of the country’s most crime-ridden cities with severely undermanned police forces. What happened to ABC and NBC and Robin Roberts and several US senators who wannabe PotUS, along with the Speaker of the House and so many others is that they got manipulated because they’re so desperate to discredit Trump that they’ll jump on any bandwagon that happens by, and if they can’t get him personally because of lack of evidence of collusion or misogyny or racism, they’ll go after people who voted for or support him by wearing MAGA hats.

They could TASTE the sweet, intoxicating vengeance in redirecting blame to DJT for the “hate crime” against the innocent black sweetheart victim. It wasn’t so much that they wanted it to be true; they NEEDED it to be true after the Covington kids’ fiasco and the Mueller collusion collapse.

CNN Staffers 'Demoralized' as Network Hires Conservative 

to Head 2020 Campaign Coverage

CNN has confirmed that they have hired former Jeff Sessions spokeswoman and Republican political adviser Sarah Isgur to lead the network's coverage of the 2020 Presidential Campaign. (insert sounds of exploding heads here)

CNN staffers did not take the news well. "Extremely demoralizing," "confused," "very bizarre" were some of the words used by CNN staffers who spoke with The Daily Beast about the hire. Outside of CNN, NYU Professor Jay Rosen asked if, "There weren't any journalists available." CNN defended the move to network anchor Brian Stelter, who reported that executives have defended their decision by pointing to precedents such as George Stephanopoulos (who was coincidentally was reported to have signed a new four year, at $15-17 million per year deal with ABC on the same day the Isgur story broke), Nicolle Wallace, Dana Perino, and Tim Russert.

Left-wing commentators denounced the move. The Daily Beast condemned her Twitter account, which she has only tweeted from once since June 2017, and for including,"fact-free invectives against liberals and repeatedly rails against the 'abortion industry."' The Daily Beast also attacked her for once approving of the Washington Free Beacon referring to her new employer as the "Clinton News Network". Former Obama National Security spokesman and current co-host of Pod Save America Tommy Vietor, who tweeted that the move was "absolutely insane," demanded: "Why on earth would you hire a right-wing hack to oversee political coverage in 2020? You just gave every Democrat in the country a reason to doubt your objectivity."

In addition to working at the Department of Justice during Sessions' tenure, Isgur has also worked for Ted Cruz and Mitt Romney, while also serving as the deputy campaign manager for Carly Fiorina in 2016. - READ MORE
