In my occasional recon of websites and blogs of leftist nut sacks and their media propaganda sources in cable news, this morning I happened to land on NBC News' retarded stepsister, MSNBC, and the infamous 'Morning Joe'. Expecting to hear the normal MSNBC broken record of "Orangeman Bad", I was somewhat shocked to hear them all throw some serious shade at the present darling of the media, the Dems rising star and gift that keeps on giving, Alexandra Ocashew Cortex.

It seems the ridicule of ignorant pontificating from AOC has begun spreading beyond just her colleagues in congress to the friendly media that has until now glowingly amplifies every word she utters publicly.

Squinty started out this mornings extravaganza by criticizing the Congresswoman for her spiking the ball after news that Amazon had pulled plans to build a second headquarters in New York was announced. “New York City wasn’t handing cash to Amazon. It was an incentive program based on job creation producing tax revenue. There isn’t a $3 billion pile of money that can now be spent on subways or education.”

The resident Morning Joe Show bowel movement, Donny Deutsch, warned this woman was " extremely dangerous" and “we are in a dangerous place and if people in the party doesn’t start to speak up against people like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who is young and dynamic but does not know what she’s talking about, they’re going to hand the presidency back to Donald Trump.”

Then some alleged republican political analyst named Susan Del Percio dropped the most significant diss of AOC of the day saying “What’s shocking to me is once again she shows how little she understands not just basic economics, but even unemployment. She needs to learn basic things about what it is to be a representative.”

Even the lovely Meat Puppet, able to put together her daily coherent thought chimed in "I watch AOC with a lot of hope but I’m cringing, and I would love to give her some advice."

Panic has begun to set in not because AOC is a young and ignorant loose cannon, but because she has let the cat out of the bag and saying exactly what the Dems really have in store for America, but don't want you to know......

Congressman's Brilliant Video Compares “Green New Deal” To The Legendary Disastrous Fyre Festival

The left has never really learned how to meme, they're so caught up in anger. We on the right just see the world through a different set of lenses, and the results can sometimes be absolutely brilliant. Case in point, a video comparing Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s “Green New Deal” to the now legendary fraud, The Fyre Festival.

For those not familiar with the Fyre Festival, it can be summed up as a brilliantly marketed scam that promised millennials the concert event of a lifetime, filled with models, private islands, five-star foods, and all the things that would make your Instagram quiver.

The promo itself was a marvel to behold. 

It turned out to be a poorly planned, poorly executed disaster that screwed over attendees, workers, and more. Instead of five-star meals, attendees were treated to cheese slices and sandwich bread. Instead of villas and high-class tents, they were treated to a camp with FEMA tents. The Fyre Festival has now become a leading symbol of overpromises that lead to disaster. So it was inevitable that the Green New Deal was going to be mentioned in the same breath.

Enter Rep. Mark Walker, vice-chair of the House GOP. Instead of simply making the comparison, Walker recreated the famous promo video and reworked it so it referenced AOC’s greatest joke on the people. “After the success of the Fyre Festival, we bring you the Green New Deal,” tweeted Walker, adding the hashtag “GND is Fyre.

We Have Allowed The Camel's Nose Under the Tent

Ilhan Omar is not “uniquely American”as  a glowing New York Times profile once proclaimed.  She is profoundly alien to everything your ancestors took for granted. She has showed open contempt for traditional America and is obviously working to undermine it. This is why she found a welcome place in a Democratic Party that wants open borders and sees white men as America’s greatest threat.

The Somali born congresswoman from Minnesota is back in the news. She is being blasted by both Democrats and Republicans for tweeting that the American-Israeli Public Affairs Committee sets America’s Middle-East policies by donating lavishly to congressional campaigns. House members accused her of “trafficking in anti-Semitic tropes".*

Omar gets attention whether she opens her mouth or not. She always wears a hijab—the first U.S. representative ever to do so. Congress had to scrap an old policy prohibiting head wear in the house chamber just to accommodate her. The hijab symbolizes much of what Rep. Omar is—a direct challenge to the historic American nation. She’s the picture politician brought to us by mass immigration and identity politics. This is why the media adore her despite the many charges of “anti-Semitism.”  The Times quoted Miss Omar’s father telling her that American children teased her at school “because they feel threatened in some way by your existence.” This seems to have established how Ms Omar views the country she now represents. According to the Times, she began wearing the hijab after the 9/11 attacks to flaunt her “otherness” in opposition to America, a country she thought was a false promised land since “the first day we arrived.”*

A common theme for Rep. Omar is that America is run by racists and that whites are the greatest danger to the nation. During her campaign she tweeted that her critics were driven by white supremacy,  “A systems of white supremacy uses conspiracies and lies to smear those that threaten their narratives and power."  In an op-ed published shortly after her election, she blamed an alleged rise of hate crimes on President Trump and his supporters.*

The first Somali congresswoman doesn’t seem interested in her white constituents. When asked by a reporter how she will best represent white people, Rep. Omar retorted that whites are never asked how they will represent non-whites—an absurd claim—and said she hoped the question would never be brought up again.*

Omar is a strong supporter of immigration policies that would allow more people like her into the country. Her campaign platform called for abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), opposed any efforts to secure the border, backed sanctuary cities, and said she would “fight back against the criminalization of immigration and crossing the border.” Of course, Rep. Omar wants citizenship for all illegals in America, as well as green cards for everyone here under Temporary Protected Status. She has stated she wants to hike the number of refugees and asylum seekers to be admitted. She's not just the camel's nose under the tent, she's a cancer being fed by the media.

Perhaps Ms Omar should be more grateful for what America has blessed her with and thankful she's not still living in Mogadishu eating dirt and being raped by gun toting savages.....

So Simple a Caveman Can Do It: Dem Wants To Impeach Trump Because Virginia Democrats Are Racist

The Hill is reporting that Rep. Al Green (Caveman-Texas) is using the Virginia democratic racism sandals as another in a long line of silly excuses to call for the impeachment of DJT. This is the same Al Green who officially read articles of impeachment against Donald Trump on the floor, citing the president’s irresponsible tweeting as “crimes and misdemeanors.”

"One of President Trump’s sharpest congressional critics on Thursday vowed to force a House vote to impeach citing the race-related scandals facing top Virginia lawmakers. Green said the refusal of both Virginia’s governor, Ralph Northam (D), and the state’s attorney general, Mark Herring (D), to resign after admissions of wearing blackface in the past “is but a symptom of a greater syndrome that currently plagues our country as a result of not acting on President Trump’s bigotry."

"An argument that Governor Ralph Northam and Attorney General Mark Herring should resign will subject us to accusations of political hypocrisy if we refuse to take on a bigoted president."

What Green is saying is that democrats can’t possibly demand that Northam and Herring resign until they impeach Donald Trump. According to him, democrats would be hypocrites they don’t first go after the Republican President who retroactively made them racist. In light of all the over the top crazy crap we have heard from the dems this week, this doesn't sound as crazy at it would have in the past.

Northam Pulls A Joy Reid - He Dindu Nuffin

Like the infamous Joy Reid homo bashing tweets that she claimed someone hacked the internet archives and planted in her tweeter account for some reason no one has be able to figure out, it looks like Ralph Northham is taking the similar tact.  The Governor claimed at his Saturday afternoon press conference that it was not him in that racist photo and he has no intention of resigning because he remembered he dindu nuffin, it wasn't him and knows nothing of the picture.  

“Yesterday I took responsibility for content that appeared on my page in the Eastern Virginia Medical School yearbook that was clearly racist and offensive. I am not and will not excuse the content of the photo. It was offensive, racist, and despicable. I recognize that many people will find this difficult to believe. The photo appears with others I submitted, on a page with my name on it. Even in my own statement yesterday, I conceded that, based on the evidence presented to me at the time, the most likely explanation, that it was indeed me in the photo. 

In the hours since I made my statement yesterday, I reflected with my family and classmates from the time and affirmed my conclusion that I am not the person in that photo.”

Good for you Governor. We need a break like this from all the Nutty F**kers you guys elect to congress shooting off their mouths and the weekly racial hoaxes.   And we have all stocked up biggly on popcorn for just this kind of occasion. Everyone likes watching implosions. But remember Governor, Joy Reid got off even after the Gay Mafia called for her head. So you hang in there.  Maybe you could give her a call....

The governor did admit he participated in a dance contest in San Antonio in which he darkened his face as part of a Michael Jackson costume, even though by that time Micheal Jackson was no long black. Uh OH!

But during the press conference, a reporter asked him if he could still moonwalk, but Mrs. Governor, who was probably dying of embarrassment already and wishing she was on another planet was like "Oh no, that is inappropriate, let's not." So he didn't. If he would have moonwalked across the stage without her assistance, we may never know. But judging by his reaction... he might have.

Yesterday the Democrats announced that failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams would give the dem's response to the coming Trump State of the Union address. I have to admit that if space aliens were to land and I had to explain the current Democrat party this would be one of my best examples on why I believe they should not be taken seriously by visiting intelligent life.

We all remember the November Georgia Election and the resulting whining about the results (i.e. it's not a free and fair election unless they win). Stacey Abrams’ defeat in Georgia was a roadmap to how the Democrats will treat any and every loss of an important race from here on out, and that should worry everyone. 

Abrams is the perfect embodiment of the modern Democrat party. She was funded by far-left groups out of California, funding which she refused to be transparent about amid accusations that she was using campaign funds to enrich herself (how very Democrat). She was the winner of the identity politics lottery in the ever increasing checklist of minority groups that you must belong to for a Democrat nomination so you have to vote for her our you’re a misogyracist.  Understanding that there is a lot of fear in the Democrat party about what new dumb thing there representatives may say that gives us justified reason to point and laugh, it is fascinating that they would go so far down the list and pick the failed gubernatorial candidate for Georgia who threw a fit and refused to concede the election.

We all know that it wasn’t a poignant or calculated response from Democrats, it’s the new standard of Democrat politics that they put a minority female in front of the camera so they can then call anyone who refutes her statements a misogyracist and then they don’t have to face any actual criticism of their policies. But to be fair to our brothers and sisters in the Democrat party, they are still a little shy over making speeches after President Trump because of what happened the last time.

Dem's Newest Attack on Liberty, HR1 - Seizing States' Control of Elections

While the news has been dominated by the Government shutdown and Border Wall arguments, not much attention has been payed to the Democrats top legislative priority. It isn’t health care, immigration, or taxes.  No, their first attempt to seize more power and newest scheme to further erode liberty is to centralize power over elections in Washington, D.C.  H.R. 1 is number one on the legislative agenda because democrats proved to themselves they couldn't even win a rigged election, making HR1 the priority of House Democrats, leftist groups, deep-pocketed dark money and those who use, by hook or crook, the election process rules to help win elections, or at least to cause chaos and throw it to the courts.

PJM - The bill is a 571-page dreamscape of wild wishes and federal mandates on states. The Constitution decentralizes power over American elections and puts states in charge. H.R. 1 would undo that. Decentralization promotes individual liberty. When power over elections is centralized, it is easier for that power to be abused. When power over elections is decentralized, no single malevolent actor can exert improper control over the process. That is precisely why Democrats are so eager for Washington, D.C., to have more power over our elections.

Here's a few of the details of HR1: 

• H.R. 1 has 218 cosponsors. It forces states to implement mandatory voter registration. If someone is on a government list -- such as receiving welfare benefits or rental subsidies -- then they would be automatically registered to vote. Few states have enacted these systems because Americans still view civic participation as a voluntary choice.
• H.R. 1 also mandates that states allow all felons to vote. Currently, states have the power under the Constitution to set the terms of eligibility in each state.
• H.R. 1 would force states to have extended periods of early voting, and mandates that early voting sites be near bus or subway routes.
• H.R. 1 also undermines the First Amendment by exerting government control over political speech and undoing the Supreme Court’s Citizen’s United decision.
• H.R. 1 mandates same-day voter registration and would obliterate state registration procedures. Same-day registration is the practice that enabled sufficient voter fraud in Minnesota to give Al Franken a seat in the Senate.
• H.R. 1 limits the ability of states to cooperate to see who is registered in multiple states at the same time. Democrat Congressional nominee Wendy Rosen was able to vote for President Obama twice in the same election in Maryland and Florida -- a federal felony -- because Maryland does not participate in interstate cross checks of rolls.
• H.R. 1 would nullify state laws that permit election observers to work as partners with election officials to file a formal challenge to a suspicious voter registration. Election watchdogs have been essential players in ensuring that the dead and ineligible do not cast ballots.

Democrats know they can rely on leftist lawyers who populate the bowels of the DOJ Voting Section to oppose voter ID, citizenship verification, and any other law that might impact their ideological and partisan preferences. These same lawyers abused this power when it was in effect, despite being sanctioned repeatedly by federal courts for abusing it. Bullet Head Has His List of Trump Investigations Ready To Go

Future Chairman of the House Government Oversight Committee:
Rep. Elijah "Bullet Head" Cummings (D-Md.)

Seizing power of the House from Republican control, two house committees in particular are likely to take the lead in investigating the Trump administration; the Oversight and Government Reform Committee and the Judiciary Committee. Democrats on each committee have for the past two years been keeping a list of everything they believe deserve investigation as they begin working toward their tricky goal of impeachment. In September, Democrats on the Oversight Committee, led by the honorable Bullet Head Cummings (D-Md.), who represents the Democrat Paradise of Baltimore and presumably will become chair of the committee in January, posted a list of 64 instances when they requested the Republican-controlled committee subpoena the Trump administration and others for records related to various oversight issues. Each time, committee chair Rep. Trey Gowdy and the Republicans told them to stop wasting their time and go fly a kite.

You can read the whole list. But here is a sampling of the topics Cummings and his Democrat collaborators have set their sights on:

• White House security clearances (involving Jared Kushner, Ivanka Trump, national security adviser John Bolton, and others)
• The controversial addition of a citizenship question to the 2020 census
• The Trump administration’s Muslim travel ban 
• The State Department’s decision to close its cyber office
• The Environmental Protection Agency’s use of a political loyalty list 
• The possible participation of Cambridge Analytica’s foreign employees in US elections
• The deadly ambush in Niger that left four American soldiers dead 
• The use of private email by White House officials 
• Trump’s response to the hurricane that devastated Puerto Rico
• The dealings of the Trump Foundation Potential conflicts of interest between Kushner’s business actions and his policy advice
• Payments the Trump Organization received from foreign sources
• Russian intervention with state voting systems
• Former national security adviser Michael Flynn’s contacts with foreign officials

Faced with information requests and subpoenas from multiple committees across multiple fronts, the White House and the entire administration will have a tough job responding and getting anything done for the country.

The House Intelligence Committee, under the chairmanship of the sleazy Adam Schiff will certainly revive any aspects of the Trump-Russia probe he can, and will be shouting them from the rooftops media round-tables every Sunday morning. And you can bet the Homeland Security Committee will investigate the Trump administration’s family-separation policy, and the Armed Services Committee will examine whether there was any reason for Trump to send 15,000 troops to the border to deal with a migrant caravan.

A fusillade of probes salaciously covered by the media like hungry jackals on prey will probably present more of a threat to Trump than an impeachment inquiry that, even if successful in the House, would run into a brick wall in the Senate.

Think Things Have Been Contentious Lately, Wait Till Nov. 7th.

In normal times the next presidential campaign would begin the day after the midterm elections. Now, in the age of anti-Trump media / Twitter Era, and all remnants of political normalcy extinguished, the 2020 Democratic primary campaign has already been raging for months. And anyone who has followed politics will agree that the assets, energy, and passion displayed during the lead up to this midterm cycle is more on par with the 2016 presidential election. What will be unique about the 2020 election is it will be the first in which the full forces of the “uncivil war” are unleashed, and even encouraged by some elected leaders and flame-throwing media pretending to be journalist. An increase in extreme passion will lead to frequent mass protests orchestrated by professional organizers representing left-wing groups. “Angry mobs” are now part of the chaotic political/cultural landscape. Quickly assembled via social media, and fueled by the prospects of DJT's re-election, that political passion will likely incite more confrontations in the streets and public places. The democrat base are certifiably a leftist cult. Win or lose on Nov. 6, expect them to come unglued. 

Two decades ago in what was quaintly called “the culture wars”, the fight to keep a national culture steeped in the traditional Judeo/Christian values upon which it was founded was lost, and defeat quickly morphed into a full scale vengeful “uncivil war.” This term is now widely used to describe the unhinged polarization and win-at-all-costs partisanship of the left.  Divisive racial, gender, anti-government and single-issue-based identity groups are now permanent forces. Many are well-funded, growing more militant and on track to become even more powerful and disruptive in 2020. Identity groups are empowered by the results of bloc voting. Ultimately, this means that instead of E pluribus unum, Latin for “Out of many, one”, the motto should now read, “E pluribus schisma” – “Out of many, division.” 

If Democrats win control of the House of Representatives, Donald Trump could be the first president to run for re-election while impeachment proceedings are underway. The 2020 presidential election will steer our nation through a gasoline-soaked incendiary course, even without impeachment. And so, if impeachment is thrown into the proverbial political fire, prepare for an historic inferno and much gnashing of teeth.

Democrats Fear Third Rate Ambulance Chaser Will Drag The Party Into the Gutter

Many Democrats believe the Third Rate Ambulance Chaser with a Napoleon Complex and legal council to porn queen/stripper Stormy what's her name, Micheal Avenatti, damaged their grand plan to stop Brett Kavanaugh from being confirmed to the Supreme Court. As one senior Democratic aide told The Hill at the time, "Avenatti “f*cked it all up” when he introduced a third women making outrageous claims against Kavanaugh.

And now, democrats are afraid the creepy porn lawyer will drag the party into a gutter fight they can't win......or as they should have said, further into the gutter than they already are.....

BPR - Creepy porn lawyer Michael Avenatti was hit Monday with a second major fail in recent weeks when a California federal court dismissed porn star Stormy Daniels’ defamation lawsuit against President Donald Trump, ordering her to pay Trump’s legal fees — a humiliating defeat for Avenatti. 

But this hasn’t deterred Avenatti from trying to establish himself as a leading voice in the Democrat Party — whether the party wants his “smash mouth” approach or not. Having toyed with the idea of running for president in 2020, Avenatti told The Hill on Monday that prominent Democrat strategists are “out of touch” and “clueless” about how to win against Trump and Republicans.

“I think they’re out of touch. I don’t think they understand what’s required. I think they’re clueless. We’re not living in 2012 or 2008 or 1992 anymore. You’ve got to engage in smash-mouth politics if you’re going to beat Donald Trump. Democrats are not going to beat Donald Trump by engaging in wishy washy yammering ways of the past. It’s never going to happen. The only way you’re going beat him is by hitting him twice as hard as he hits you. He is a classic bully and that’s how you deal with bullies.”

That's a strategy he may want to discuss with a few Republicans who tried it during the 2016 GOP primary. 

“There’s a difference between getting in the gutter and being tough, and I don’t think Michael Avenatti understands that,” Patti Solis Doyle, Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager in 2008 told The Hill. “This isn’t a strategy, this is a spectacle,” Doyle added. “And the spectacle is great for getting a lot of Twitter followers and retweets, but when push comes to shove … what’s he doing for the party?” 

According to The Hill, Avenatti has been “informally seeking advice from Adam Parkhomenko,” co-founder and executive director of the super PAC Ready for Hillary. Given his record of failure, it’s only fitting that Avenatti seeks advice from those who were defeated by Trump. - Read More

Face It Lizzy, You're Just Another White Girl.......

We all laughed at Rachel Dolezal, a woman so obsessed with racial politics that she found her skin to be so offensive to her that she literally did what was necessary to pass herself off as a black woman. Even the left, who was ironically shouting that boys could be girls and vice versa thought her a loon. They need racial issues to be a set thing in order to keep up a thriving privilege narrative and racial divide for healthy voting blocs.

Elizabeth Warren has been struggling against her whiteness for some time. As a Senator, there isn’t really anything special about her. She’s a wealthy, upper-class white woman who has no stand-out characteristics in her personality, except she can be obnoxiously verbose. As far as she goes, she’s another brick in the Democrat sewer drain. What Warren does have is a need for attention, an edge.

She chose to claim Native American ancestry and has benefited from her deception. She was laughed at by the right as tribes denounced her claim due to not finding her lineage in any of their carefully kept records. Regardless, she continued to double, triple, and quadruple down on the claim. She had to because if she didn’t she would just be white. According to the media, Senator Lizzy has now proven that she has Native American ancestry, but mostly has proven she has about as much Native American ancestry as everyone else. And the natives ain't happy.

To make matters worse, she wasn’t even actually tested against Native American DNA (much less Cherokee, which was her original claim). Instead, she was tested against DNA from…Mexico, Peru, and Colombia.

Yes, you read that right. The reason for this is obvious. She clearly didn’t have any Cherokee DNA as she claimed, so the tester decided he’d use just Latin American DNA as a stand in so he could prop up her claim. He found a tiny bit of Latin American DNA within her heritage and used that to say that she has Native American heritage. How does he make this claim? Because some Native Americans, going back to crossing from Russia tens of thousands of years ago, kept going and ended up south of the modern United States. 

But the wagons were circled  and the talking points in her defense went out to the media.

In 2020, any mention of this will elicit claims that she was telling the truth, that the media reported on it, and that it’s a closed case. They are already trying to frame this in the same vein as the birther non-sense. It’s all nakedly transparent.

We Should Never View The Democrat Party the Same Again

It Seems the Kavanaugh confirmation process has become the death rattle of the old Democrat Party (not that it was responsible for very much to be proud of for the past 200 odd years anyway) and the veneer of civility and respect for the rule of law, and its complete transformation and subsuming into and by a full-on bust-out Marxist neo-Maoist tyranny that is now openly fomenting political violence and the destruction of whatever vestiges of the Constitution and American principles of jurisprudence as well as comity that remain extant. And to paraphrase the great Fred Allen you can take what's left of any sense of decency the Dems may have had, place it in the navel of a fruit fly and still have room for three caraway seeds and Hillary Clinton's heart. But I digress...

The long march through the institutions, primarily through academia, has given us at least three generations of American citizens at best ignorant of our heritage, culture, laws, traditions and Judeo-Christian morality and ethics and as we are witnessing openly contemptuous of it and growing violent in the extreme to any and all who defend it. David Horowitz, who truly is a tireless defender of liberty and freedom (ironic since he was once a red-diaper baby and fellow traveler of Bill Ayers and the Weathermen) states it plainly:

Democrats did not need the U.S. Supreme Court to institute Social Security or establish the Peace Corps. But abortion on demand, gay marriage, prohibition on school prayer, the abolition of the death penalty, and much else on the liberal wish list became the law of the land because of the U.S. Supreme Court, a parallel national legislature when controlled by the Left. A party without the speaker’s gavel or the word “majority” prefixing “leader” struggles to pass substantive legislation. Add to these handicaps widespread public contempt for much of that party’s agenda, and one begins to see why Democrats need the courts so much. Unfortunately for them, the rude, no-holds-barred gambit for the high court (dishonestly used as something other than a court in their hands) makes it even further from their grasp.

No, Senator Heidi Won't Be A Heroine, Just a Farting Hippo Falling On A Dull Sword

Sen. Heidi Heitkamp shocked just about no one by announcing that she will vote NO to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. She's a red-state Democrat senator running for re-election facing a double digit lead by her opponent in a state DJT won by close to 40%. She's toast, but valiantly claims she will vote no "even if it cost her an election", one she probably knows she won't win anyway. Way to throw yourself on your sword there Heidi. 

The last week showed the dems on the national stage increasingly falling into disarray and chaos. Senator Heidi's decision may be just a Hail-Mary to the back of the end-zone and get her a few extra votes from the teachers union in Minot. But you can bet after the mid-terms she will be invited to all the talk shows, portrayed as a Bold Feminist Heroine and Great Defender of Women and Democracy who gave all for her country. Who knows, they may even name a rock in North Dakota in her honor or something. To be truthful, the few times I've seen this woman on TV she reminded me of every female prison guard I've seem in the movies, and she kinda made my skin crawl......

Come on North Dakota, send Heidi back to the Natural Gas Co. where she came from!

Dems Resort to Use Of Federal Court to Stop Kavanaugh Vote

With the media and democrats and their grandstanding creepy porn lawyer friends having turned the Kavanaugh Conformation into the circus, and with little left but grasping at *straws (*not legal in some states) have turned to the one thing they have left, leftist federal judges. According to Politico, back-bench junior Senator and Chuck Schumer toady, Jeff Merkley (Leftist-Ore.) on Wednesday announced that he's seeking an injunction in federal court designed to stop a final vote on Brett Kavanaugh, asserting an obstruction of his constitutional duty to advise and consent on nominees. Kinda makes you wonder if Jeff Merkley has ever read the constitution......

"Merkley's filing in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia comes as Senate Republicans vow to push ahead with a vote on President Donald Trump's Supreme Court nominee in the coming days — and hours before a landmark hearing slated with Christine Blasey Ford, who has alleged a decades-old sexual assault by Kavanaugh. Merkley's bid for an injunction hinges on the Senate's constitutional duty to provide advice and consent on nominees and charges that he's been prevented from fulfilling that due to the withholding of records on Kavanaugh's past service in the George W. Bush administration. 

“The events of the past ten days have only underscored how critical it is that the Senate conduct a careful and comprehensive review of a nominee before giving its consent,” Merkley told POLITICO in a statement. “The unprecedented obstruction of the Senate’s advice and consent obligation is an assault on the separation of powers and a violation of the Constitution. The President and Mitch McConnell want to ram through this nomination come hell or high water, without real advice or informed consent by the Senate, but that’s just not how our Constitution works.” 

Ford's allegation is not directly cited in Merkley's filing, which is unlikely to succeed in stopping the vote. But the entrance of the Oregonian, who's indicated interest in a 2020 presidential bid, into the Kavanaugh debate further heightens the politically charged atmosphere shrouding the nomination. Merkley delivered a 15-hour floor speech last year in an ultimately failed bid to stop the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch."

Unprecedented obstruction of the Senate’s advice and consent obligation indeed! Unfounded, unprovable 36 year old allegations by women who no one will back up?

A Massive Overdose of Liberal Double-Think and Hypocrisy.

As Kavanaugh's accuser's ramp up their protests and complaints about the terms of engagement, through their rhetoric and demands they demonstrate ever more clearly the reality behind the agenda of their supporters and mouthpieces: the totalitarian drive for absolute, unaccountable, and unopposable control over lives, words, and actions,  and the threat of personal destruction of any who dare to stand in their way or expresses the slightest criticism of the narrative and code of behavior and thought processes that they would impose on society.

This is a movement that, on the one hand, claims to empower women to live full lives but that at the same time treats them as such untouchable fragile vessels, who will irreparably fall apart unless they can fully control their interactions with the world around them. A movement that arrogates to themselves infallible possession of “truth”, asserts control over defining the standards for evaluating their truth claims, and enforces this “truth” on everybody else just because they say so.  They will use all means necessary, including intimidation and force, to silence and destroy any dissent, and by projection labeling any such dissent as oppression in good Orwellian fashion.

A movement that claims unprecedented authority to dictate to the members and staff of the U.S. Senate the entire structure and rules for their witness, seeking to overturn centuries of covenant and jurisprudence for judgment of public accusations, and in its place, seeking to control who can speak to them, what can be spoken in the hearing or by any person outside the hearing in any setting, while at the same time being granted untrammeled power to tell their narrative and to bully and silence any contrary view. Twisting historical rules and custom into a pretzel. A movement that would spread fear and exalt anger far and wide in our land to create a climate of suspicion and distrust between individuals, a world in which a vocal minority with media hegemony can dominate conversation and though  manipulation, create a false “consensus” and “settled truth”. 

It’s time to for the Republican members of the Judiciary committee and Senate leadership to start playing hardball and stand up for, if nothing else, simple decency and fair process and civilized behavior.
