Swanson McNear Carlson and the CNN Doughnut Caper

It’s been a pretty rough week for CNN following the revelation that sainted Special Counsel Robert “Bob” Mueller cleared President Trump of colluding with the Russkies. But few have taken it harder than the obese little clown Brian Stelter, host of the ironically named "Reliable Sources".

Stelter has been helping push the conspiracy theories that Trump was in cahoots with the Kremlin and that Hillary would have never lost were it not for Putin, and following the collapse of the mother of all shit soufflé’s the host unleashed a deranged and bitter tirade defending the fake news media. The chubby employee of the self-proclaimed “most trusted name in news” also has a bug up his ass because of what some believe is a cruel trick played on him by his nemesis, Fox’s Tucker Carlson who stands accused of “fat shaming” Lil’ Jeff Zucker:

On Friday, Carlson’s own Daily Caller website reported that the Fox News personality had sent an unsolicited box of doughnuts to CNN media correspondent and “Reliable Sources” host Stelter, a frequent critic of Carlson who recently said, “I just want Fox News to be a healthy part of the media ecosystem.” 

Now pals of Carlson tell Page Six that Carlson — who just last week nicknamed Stelter CNN’s “house eunuch … announcing proclamations from his tiny king [CNN president] Jeff Zucker” — will dispatch another box of Dunkin’ Donuts’ finest confections to Stelter next week. 

It’s not quite clear what has prompted Carlson to mess with Stelter at this particular moment.  Some sources guess that it’s over a fake story that Stelter wrote all the way back in November that suggested Carlson may have overstated the risk posed to his family by a protest at his home.

The report does not indicate whether Stelter has been eating the donuts. We have our own suspicions.

Make no mistake, whether we've reached a tipping point or  just playing politics, not fearing the optics of thinking outside the box at the crossroads of their last ditch effort, there is always plenty of blame to go around in the searing indictment of the favorite Washington parlor game that turns a blind eye on a potent symbol of a the game-changer, which dons the mantle of a hotly contested feeding frenzy.

Needless to say, it remains to be seen in the 24-hour news cycle of the digital age, whether at first glance, the woefully inadequate, byzantine rules that burst onto the scene will allow the punditocracy to breathe a sigh of relief or will force it to vicariously probe the powers that be for the American people. But those rules double-down with strange bedfellows in the wake of keen observers of the tongue-wagging, well-heeled who meet with an ignominious end in the final analysis at the end of the day when, for all intents and purposes, cooler heads prevail at the inflection point of no return that is sometime shrouded in secrecy in an ill-advised, much-ballyhooed, hastily-convened, closely-watched and oft-cited paradigm shift of a broken system that underscores the object lesson of a Rorschach test.

Be that as it may, this is not your father’s tectonic shift, if you will, and Christmas comes early for the skittish in that land of contradictions which ushered in an eye-popping era in a nutshell that, contrary to popular belief, preventing anyone from acknowledging the new norm in which there are no face-saving compromises and we all press each other’s hot-button issues which are the talk of the town. Yet a portrait emerges of those who endured withering criticism in a dizzying array of wide-ranging interviews in a nondescript office building, and of the poster child of an unsung hero who was tapped to rise from obscurity and spark a debate that raised the specter of hand-wringing partisans on both sides who trade barbs in a war of words and walked on thin ice in a charm offensive, going forward as creatures of Washington in a stinging rebuke to the fevered speculation of the proverbial growing body of evidence that shines a spotlight on a political football. Which, much to our chagrin, raises more questions than answers about our tightly knit social fabric.

Intelligence Committee Members Call For Shitweasel to Resign

For two years now, Sleazy Shitweasel Adam Schiff (D-CA) has claimed he was sitting on incontrovertible evidence that the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians to steal the 2016 election. He has never delivered on his claim, and of course the media never called him to account for his bluster. But the pressure is on now, because the Mueller investigation is wrapped up and it didn't show any evidence of collusion. He claims the “direct evidence” of which he’s been in possession for two years is not Trump and Putin taking long walks on the beach or holding hands on the gold escalator of Trump Tower, just political opportunism  and his tin foil hat suspicions about what everyone else in the world already knows about. None of which is collusion. 

CBS -Every Republican on the House Intelligence Committee is calling on Chairman Adam Schiff to resign Thursday, accusing the California Democrat of weaving a "demonstrably false" narrative of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia and "undermining" the credibility of the panel. 

At a hearing Thursday, Republican Rep. Mike Conaway read a letter arguing Schiff has been "at the center of a well-orchestrated media campaign claiming, among other things, the Trump campaign colluded with the Russian government." 

"Your willingness to continue to promote a demonstrably false narrative is alarming," said the letter read by Conaway. "The findings of the Special Counsel conclusively refute your past and present assertions and have exposed you as having abused your position to knowingly promote false information, having damaged the integrity of this Committee, and undermined faith in U.S. government institutions." 

"We need to restore the trust in the Intelligence Committee," McCarthy said, accusing Schiff of lying and comparing him to the infamous Sen. Joe McCarthy. The minority leader also said he would not consider removing Committee Ranking Member Devin Nunes, who was widely criticized by Democrats during his time as chairman and had to step away from the committee Russia investigation, in return for Schiff's resignation. 

A visibly emotional Schiff, who did not know this broadside from Republicans was coming, had a strident response. At times raising his voice, he listed a litany of known and controversial interactions between the Trump campaign and Russia – including Donald Trump Jr.'s involvement in the Trump Tower meeting.

As we have said here before, it’s not illegal to seek dirt on your political opponent from a Sexy Russian lady. And there's no proof that even happened anyway. There is proof this happened though. Schiff's continued butt sniffing investigation of the president and his associates is an example of congressional overreach and political grandstanding and an unhealthy obsession. Do the right thing Adam, jump head first out of the nearest window.....

Ricky's Ratings Crater Big-time After Report Release

The Mueller investigation was a cash cow to what had long been a floundering and flailing ugly stepsister of NBC News, staffed by mouthbreathers and watched primarily by leftist kooks and the low-info troops. But Ricky Maddow has seen his ratings notably increase thanks to her spoon feeding the growing legions of Tin Foil Hat wearing imbeciles as the Mueller investigation unfolded. But the release of AG Barr’s summary letter threw a wrench into the narrative that has driven the network’s coverage. The Mueller disappointment drove loyal viewers away who sensed the total fraud that MSNBC gleefully perpetrated on their audience. Maddow, who has consistently vied for the first or second top-rated cable news program, was sixth on Monday evening, down almost 500,000 total viewers from the previous Monday, as was MSNBC’s second top-rated program in primetime, The Last Turd With Lawrence O’Donnell.

The cash cow is now dying and that's why they're clinging so tightly to it. And you can bet they will try to keep this conspiracy nonsense alive as long as possible. But it is doubtful that anyone who wasn’t watching her before the Mueller investigation is going to stick around to watch him create a conspiracy theory of a secret report proving Trump is owned by Russia.

The fake news business is far too lucrative to expect accountability, but let's hope millions of Americans finally understand that they have been bamboozled and tune them out.
