A new IRS proposal could affect your accounts and how your credit union operates.

As Congress considers new infrastructure spending, lawmakers are exploring unconventional sources of revenue to fund plans. One proposal under consideration effects Barksdale Federal Credit Union and our members — it would require that BFCU (along with other financial institutions and popular apps like Venmo and PayPal) report to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) how much money has gone into and out of all accounts with more than $600 in them.

 

The proposal is designed to close the tax gap. The financial reports would allow the IRS to compare how much cash came through a person's accounts to how much was reported each year on income tax forms. That can include cash not reported by those who don't list all their tips, people doing gig work for cash, side jobs paid in cash, people who sell crafts or products from home.

 

We value our members privacy and the security of their data, and this possible unprecedented access to your finances violates your personal privacy by forcing credit unions and banks to provide the government with information that does not reflect taxable activity. 
 

The Louisiana Credit Union Movement’s Response

Credit unions across the state strongly object to the proposal, which would be an unwarranted infringement on the privacy of our members and create complex new reporting burdens.   We have alerted congressional leaders, submitted a joint letter with the Louisiana Bankers Association, and submitted thousands of messages from credit union advocates. Our advocacy messages highlight that new IRS bank account mining would: Be intrusive and indiscriminate for our members. Increase taxpayer complexity and confusion. Enlist credit unions as agents of the IRS while imposing new reporting burdens. Expose credit unions to penalties for inadvertent errors. Channel more information into the IRS than it can process. The Louisiana credit union movement will continue speaking out against this proposal and the threat it poses to consumer privacy and credit union operations. Know that we will not simply hand over personal information at any time without it being required by law.   Please let us know if you have any questions. The Democrats have launched their impeachment inquiry circus for which there is no evidence and are now stuck in a position where they either have to impeach DJT for no particular reason, or admit that they tried to impeach him for no particular reason. Meanwhile, there's a crazy lady in NY who has been called the Inevitable One in two, alas, failed presidential attempts. She has been referred to as the best prepared person ever to run for president. Recently she's popped out of obscurity and is suddenly everywhere. She’s been spotted at an art show in Italy sitting behind a mock Resolute Desk in a replica of the Oval Office pretending to be president while reading her infamous private server e-mails. I honestly can’t think of a sadder spectacle.  She’s been on all the low-rated liberal cable news channels, and made the daytime va-jay jay talk show circuit with her ugly kid Charlie Chelsea, all while reminding us of someone who got stood up for the prom and is still wearing her prom dress 30 years later.

But right now there are bookies actually putting money down she will run again. There are Democrats speaking of her candidacy in hushed tones. Her lecher of a husband who has been living in a feminist-imposed exile, is whispering in her ear and dreaming of his reemergence from under his bed in Chappaqua. She has been booking appearances on television and calling President Trump an “illegitimate president.” 

I say Hillary is doing more than mulling over her next run for the presidency. I think she readying herself for the call.  The call that will come when the dem's collapse is enviable. I think she's already planning her next bumper sticker.

Ahead of the Houston's impending democrat presidential primary debate, about a dozen activists suspended themselves from the Fred Hartman Bridge in order to fight the use of fossil fuels. In order to make their point, they held yellow and red flags. Maybe they should’ve gone with yellow and blue — those two colors make green. Or…what’s the official flag for insanity?

And I find it tremendously ironic that a group who have a recent history of anti-White & and anti-Semitic statements should be criticizing anyone on the subject. But, here we are....

They Left the Barn Door Open Again.....

Like that great philosopher once said, or did I hear it in the movies, "one barn door closes and other door opens and a fool rushes in" or something like that.  The door might've closed on the grand presidential ambitions of California gun grabber Eric Swalwell, but in rushes California billionaire Tom Steyer, who purchased the door and the rest of the barn from the looks of his video announcement.

This is just what the Democrat primary needs because their billionaire-underrepresentation problem is now solved. They already have a resident from another planet and could use a billionaire so Bernie Sanders will have someone handy to gesture angrily toward during the next debate. Steyer has no political experience but disappointed dozens in January when he announced that he wasn't going to run, but would instead focus his "time, energy, and resources" on his organization, Need To Impeach. He vowed to do "whatever it takes for as long as it takes" to remove Trump. Impeachment is going nowhere, so Steyer has decided to try defeating DJT at the ballot box.

The media helps further the narrative by constantly describing him as a "billionaire activist" like he's secretly Batman or something. But he's not all talk or an Oprah-enabled flake. He founded NextGen America, which works to fight climate change by supporting candidates who actually believe it exists. He's even praised Alexandria Ocashew Cortex's Green New Deal. (most of his money was made on fossil fuel energy corporations, but we won't mention that).  AOC stated once that a world that allows for billionaires is "immoral.", so Steyer is trying to put his best billionaire foot forward by pledging  to donate half of his fortune to charity during his lifetime: That's ... zero fewer dinners out, but sure, great! Tom plans to live to 150, so there's no hurry. 

But can a white male corporate savior thrive in this primary race full of commies, expert race baiters, and dare I say,  nasty women?  The timing of Steyer's announcement is interesting. It's been a couple weeks since Crazy Joe's shaky performance at the Democrat debates. Elizabeth Warren and Kamala Harris have steadily risen in the polls, because they are 'Crockett and Tubbs' awesome.  So Tommy plans to take $100 million from his couch cushions and spend it on his campaign to see if it will help secure Steyer a spot at the next Democratic debate down on the far end of the bench with the lovely Marianne Williamson.

I'm sorry, you'll have to forgive me, or praise me (your choice) but I just cannot look at Congressman Steve Cohen and not see Lon Chaney's 1925 Phantom of the Opera with glasses on.  Sometimes I can't keep from bursting out laughing. And if there is one thing we all can thank DJT for, is exposing the crazy train load of anti-Semites and lunatics like this guy in the democrat party. The Tennessee Representative's CNN & MSNBC appearances are somewhere near bizarre to say the least.

There was plenty for us to make fun of in the Barky Obama years, but the present dem party has the loonies jumping out of the trees everywhere and screaming at the sky. And there is no depth to which depraved lunatic House Dems won’t sink with their neo-Stalinist inquisitions of government officials and Trump administration figures. 

Tuesday,  more psychodrama played out in the Judiciary Committee after former White House Counsel Don McGahn refused to show up for their dog and pony show and creepy Steve Cohen threw another one of his temper tantrums. The same freakish degenerate, who also looks like a backwoods pervert out of a sequel to Sling Blade, that chowed down on a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken after AG William Barr also told the committee to go pound sand, wailed that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had to impeach President Trump because he was “raping the country”.

"Cohen stood up and yelled for Trump to be impeached during a Democratic Steering and Policy Committee meeting with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.), prompting Pelosi to push back saying, “This is not about politics, it’s about what’s best for the American people.” 

Cohen, who voted to move impeachment proceedings forward in December 2017, also brought up former President Bill Clinton’s impeachment proceedings during the committee hearing, saying he faced impeachment “over sex.” He went on to contrast Clinton and Trump by accusing the latter of “raping the country,” a quote that was confirmed by Cohen after the meeting....." 

Cohen has a history of fringe lunatic statements when discussing DJT or his policies. In addition to accusing Trump of "torching the entire structure of government" like the Notre Dame Cathedral in France, he has compared Trump to the  Fidel Castro, and he described Trump as a "cancer" on the United States.

The next two years are going to be so interesting...

But the release of AG Barr’s summary letter threw a wrench into the narrative that has driven the network’s coverage. The Mueller disappointment drove loyal viewers away who sensed the total fraud that MSNBC gleefully perpetrated on their audience. Maddow, who has consistently vied for the first or second top-rated cable news program, was sixth on Monday evening, down almost 500,000 total viewers from the previous Monday, as was MSNBC’s second top-rated program in primetime, The Last Turd With Lawrence O’Donnell.

But it is doubtful that anyone who wasn’t watching her before the Mueller investigation is going to stick around to watch him create a conspiracy theory of a secret report proving Trump is owned by Russia.

Women's March Leadership Is Even Too Radical For The DNC

The annual Women’s March is just three days away, but the Democratic National Committee has quietly withdrawn its support less than 24 hours after March leader's refused to denounce the notorious anti-Semitic hatemonger Louis Farrakhan on national television. The groups leaders, a La Raza supporter and radical Hispanic activist, a rag-head pro-Palestinian anti-Semite, a black Louis Farrakhan lover and a self-loathing ugly white chick named BOB; I ask why any decent American would take these people seriously?

Tuesday, march leaders Tamika Mallory and Bob Bland took to the airwaves on ABC’s morning democrat infomercial and leftist propaganda hour, “The View” to address “criticism of their leadership and allegations of antisemitism that have been levied against them by former members of their leadership team. They only dug themselves a deeper hole.  The View’s” Sunny Hostin called out Malloy about photos she took with Farrakhan, the leader of the Nation of Islam, which she captioned with the acronym, GOAT, meaning greatest of all time. “I didn’t call him the greatest of all time because of his rhetoric,” Mallory said. “I called him the greatest of all time because of what he’s done in black communities.” She failed to say what she believes Farrakhan has done for her people. (other then extort money and teach hate for white people). 

The DNC baled on the march and joins a laundry list of liberal organizations that once proudly supported the Women’s March but are no longer sponsors, including EMILY’s List, the Center for American Progress, and NARAL Pro Choice America. The Southern Poverty Law Center, which labels the Nation of Islam as a “hate group,” also withdrew its sponsorship. It’s been a rough year for the Women’s March, which lost more than half of its 550 sponsors from 2018 for its event this year. 

Last July, the Women’s March sent out a press release announcing its opposition to President Trump’s Supreme Court pick, “XX,” clearly demonstrating the group intended to attack whomever the president selected, regardless of qualifications.

Millennial poll: America ‘racist,’ not ‘great,’

Younger Americans are turning on the country and forgetting its ideals, with nearly half believing that it isn’t “great” and many eyeing the U.S. flag as “a sign of intolerance and hatred,” according to a new and disturbing survey. Those who came of age under former President Barack Obama also have a larger-than-life view of the 44th president and feel that he had a “bigger impact” on the United States than the father of the country and leader of the Revolutionary War, former President George Washington.

The YouGov poll was the first “State of American Patriotism” survey conducted for the Foundation for Liberty and American Greatness. The group educates Americans, especially grades K-12, about the country’s “values and principles that make our nation exceptional.” But what the poll found is that they have a lot of work to do when it comes to those 38 and younger.

Just one example: Four in 10 say it is OK to burn the flag. “Younger Americans (under 38 – Gen Z and Millennials) are becoming unmoored from the institutions, knowledge, and spirit traditionally associated with American patriotism,” the survey analysis said. 

  A Few Disturbing Highlights:

• Half of those surveyed believe the United States is sexist (50 percent) and racist (49 percent).
• American exceptionalism is on the decline — 46 percent of younger Americans do not agree that “America is the greatest country in the world.”
• 38 percent of younger Americans do not agree that “America has a history that we should be proud of.”
• One in eight (14 percent) of millennials agree that “America was never a great country and it never will be.”
• 46 percent of younger Americans agree that “America is more racist than other countries.”
• 84 percent of Americans do not know the specific rights enumerated in the First Amendment.
• 19 percent of millennials believe that the American flag is “a sign of intolerance and hatred.”
• 44 percent of younger Americans believe Obama had a “bigger impact” on America than Washington, the nation’s first president.

On the release of the report, Nick Adams, founder of FLAG, said, “We suspected that we would find decreasing numbers of Americans well-versed in our nation’s most important principles and young people less patriotic than the generations that came before, but we were totally unprepared for what our national survey reveals: an epidemic of anti-Americanism."

He added, "That half of millennials and Gen Z believe that the country in which they live is both ‘racist’ and ‘sexist’ shows that we have a major fraction of an entire generation that has been indoctrinated by teachers starting in grade school that America is what’s wrong with the world."

The Newest Weapon of the Left - "Credibly Accused"

When one hears the phase“credibly accused” you might automatically assume that the allegation being made have been examined and there is at least some credible amount of circumstantial evidence that the allegation is true.  Today, what “credibly accused” has come to mean that there is absolutely no corroborating evidence, no independent corroborating witness, no contemporaneous documentation and, most importantly, no way of verifying the allegations. It’s a phrase that reveals less of the accusations veracity than it does about the person using it and his/her animus toward the accused. It simply means the person reporting the allegation just *wants* it to be true. So it’s nothing more than an attempt to pronounce guilt without having to contend with bothersome issues like, ya know, the presumption of innocence or the need for evidence before destroying a hated target’s life and reputation.

The danger of “credibly accused” metastasizing out of the world of politics is very real. This week saw hundreds of law students from Yale and Harvard come out to endorse “credibly accused” as their preferred standard of justice. This is no accident; “credibly accused” is a close sibling to the star chamber adjudication system, much loved by University Administrators, feminist and radical minority student activists.

What should terrify every American is the fact that any number of these student activists, if current trends hold, will end up on the bench. Including the Supreme Court. Imagine; people who do not believe in the presumption of innocence, the right of the accused to confront his accuser, to present witnesses, to have access to counsel, charged with safeguarding Americans’ civil liberties. Scary, isn’t it? And after deciding that sexual assault defendants being stripped of these rights is in keeping with the Constitution, is there any guarantee that’s where it will stop? Which is why “credibly accused” needs to be shown for the evil it is now.

This becomes even more important when we read about things like this: On Saturday, Georgetown University distinguished associate professor C. Christine Fair, who's profile describes her as "Scholar of South Asian pol-mil affairs, inter-sectional feminist, pitbull apostle, scotch devotee, nontheist, and resister" went on a violent, graphic tweeter rant: 

“Look at thus [sic] chorus of entitled white men justifying a serial rapist’s arrogated entitlement. All of them deserve miserable deaths while feminists laugh as they take their last gasps.” 

“Bonus: we castrate their corpses and feed them to swine? Yes.” 

It’s not enough to simply rally and support Brett Kavanaugh, because this is about so much more than him. It’s about everybody’s father, uncle, brother, son, grandson, nephew, friend, etc. and the creation of a world in which their lives can be destroyed on a single person’s word. The Democrats and their toadies in the media need to be made to understand exactly what it is they have unleashed.

The View From the Far End of the Sofa

Now that the spectacle of the Kavanaugh hearings, Part 2: “Tales From the Yearbook” and the grilling of a Supreme Court Nominee about high school fart jokes are over, it becomes obvious that the Democrats have overplayed their #MeToo hand. In their zeal to derail the nomination of a highly qualified judge, they played to the lowest denominator and seemed swept up in the frenzy of that movement and they may have inadvertently decimated the #MeToo movement. In its original incarnation, it was a movement about sexual assault and violence. In its current incarnation, it has morphed into an ugly catch-all for leftist complaints, now encompassing pay disparities, power structures, whisper networks, and intense personal hatred of white males with power.

As this latest round of the Kavanaugh hearings shows, reason, argument and even the law are outmoded. It has become an orgy of outrage. All men are nasty predators and the accuser is to believed no matter how preposterous, unsubstantiated,or uncorroborated the accusation is, witnesses to the contrary be damned. And if all men are nasty predators who carry a presumption of guilt, that makes all women victims. The feminist of old would cringe if alive today to see their gender relegated back to the role of victim…by women themselves.

Guilt cannot be presumed simply for carrying the Y chromosome. Awkward advances and clumsy moves are now defined as sexual assault. Sexual assault is not some guy coming onto you, and proclaiming it over Facebook does not make it so. Neither is “abuse” regret after the fact. And did anyone notice no one followed up on the fact she herself admitted to drinking on the occasion of her accusation?

After yesterday's testimony, yes I'm of the belief Christine Ford may have been, sometime and somewhere, a victim of an attempted assault that she may have stored away in her unconscious for decades. I am also equally convinced her attacker was not Judge Brett Kavanaugh.
