Senate Kabuki Theater - Episode 2

In Episode one of the United States Senate Kabuki Theater production "Impeachment 2.0", we witnessed the Senate Dems proclaiming constitutional righteousness and officially the good guys. With the help of a a slick professionally produced video production, highly edited for effect, the case was made for Dems and a few Repubs to vote for an extended run of their made for cable news mini series.  (Senator William Morgan Cassidy, we need to talk!!)

Pointless as this process is, they fool no one with the High Judge of the production also a sitting juror. And it's not lost on anyone he happens to be a juror who also publicly pronounced the defendant guilty as charged. Just like an old movie western.  Judge, Jury and Hangman.

The reviews so far are generally pants wetting good from the Hollywood hate cheering section. The cable news pundits are fired up and ecstatic.

There's is no advanced word if, or who may be the Dems designated weeper for today's session. They may have to go to the bench since so many high profile Dems have already done their weeping emotional performance for the media during the run up to the hearings.

UPDATE:  There are rumors that ace Middle Finger News Correspondent 'Earl of Taint' may have slipped into the DC disguised as a 'Lady of the Evening' to report on the proceedings. If so, you'll read it here.

Some Media Disturbed at Senator's Boredom and Disinterest at Schiff's Redundant Off-Broadway Spectacle

To listen to the media, we should all be showering Adam Schiff's with flowers over his dramatic prosecutorial marathon performance in the Senate Chamber the last few evenings. And while our friend DIANNY amply describes the resulting media talking head circle jerk, some in the media are a bit beside themselves that Schiff's senate comrades don't seem to hold the same enthusiasm for Schiff & Co. redundant, dot connecting interpretations and exercise in futility.  In Off-Broadway review speak, it might rate a characterization as "an overly dramatic presentation by a bad actor standing ankle deep in a box of cat shit."

And what really bites em in the butt is cable news ratings indicate a significant drop as the audience shrunk by 19% between Tuesday’s session and when Democrats began making their case for why DJT should be removed from office.

According to BPR, MSNBC's resident soy boy, Chris Hayes, bluntly said Wednesday evening that any senators who find it difficult to sit still for eight or more hours during President Donald Trump’s ongoing Senate trial should “resign tomorrow and go get another job.” Hayes issued the remark while speaking with his cable news twin, master conspiracy theorist, Rick Maddow about the bipartisan boredom and disinterest being shown by Democrat and Republican senators.
"It is a little bit weird," Maddow complained. "We all thought it was within the rules that they had to be there. They had to attend and sit there and not eat or drink anything other than milk or water. And they needed to not have their phones and they needed to not speak."
To be fair, the rules of an impeachment trial are extremely strict. No coffee or snacking on the floor. No pacing, note-passing, scribbling on the wall or working on other matters or chit-chat. Technically, only water is allowed in the Senate chamber. Numerous senators were seen chewing on snacks or drinking something besides water. In their defense, they’re still human, after all.
"Courthouse News Service reported Bernie Sanders could be seen nodding off, slouched deep in his wooden desk with his chin bobbing on his chest."
And from the AP :
"A Democrat in the back row leaned on his right arm, covered his eyes and stayed that way for nearly a half-hour".
"Some openly snickered when lead prosecutor Adam Schiff said he’d only speak for 10 minutes. And when one of the freshman House prosecutors stood to speak, many of the senator-jurors bolted for the cloak rooms, where their phones are stored."
Senate Judiciary Committee ranking member Di Feinstein reportedly said screw it and left Wednesday’s trial hearings at least an hour before its conclusion. Meanwhile, presidential candidate Amy Klobuchar hung around and was spotted apparently chewing her cud.

Over at Fake News Central (CNN), John Berman was ranting and raving about the same issue. Their whiny attitude does seem to speak to the growing belief that so-called “journalists” are narcissistic, self-absorbed door slamming 9 year olds.

Onward Over Yonder Cliff.....

Julius Caesar is purported to have said "alea iacta est" (translation: The die is cast.when his armies crossed the Rubicon river. (The only living witness to this is Brian Williams, so we have to take his word for it.)  Caesar, who at the time was in the  midst of fighting the Roman Civil War, had taken his armies beyond what was then the northern boundary of Italy in defiance of the Roman Senate Guys. At that point, he knew he’d reached the point of no return.  This is where “crossing the Rubicon” comes from, as well, but there’s no better way to wax pseudo-intellectually than to use Latin phraseology in place of an English idiom wouldn't you say??

Anyway, Nan Pelosi and her House Committee flying monkeys had an "alea iacta est" moment a few weeks ago.  They were no doubt aware of how polling was trending when it came to the public opinion of their impeachment and attempt to remove DJT.  According to the RealClearPolitics average, since mid-December a plurality of Americans have been against it or the polling average has been a tie.

In December, the Democrats threw the die for the first time: an impeachment vote against Trump, which coincided almost precisely with the moment the polling average began turning against the Democrats.  They were no closer to removing him, but they’d rolled the dice and taken their chances.  And the polling average continued to turn against them.

Since then, they’ve cast the die again, this time in terms of their messaging in the run-up to the trial.  Majority Mitch refused to hold the Senate trial that Democrats would have preferred which is to say, messy and protracted, with privileges and protections afforded to Democrats in the Senate that Democrats would have never dreamed of extending to Republicans in the House, so Pelosi decided to sit on the articles and only handed them to the Senate last Wednesday.  Even then, the Democrats made sure to let America know how solemn and somber an occasion the delivery of the articles was, that is if you discount the pompous signing ceremony complete with those nifty custom pens.

Now that most Senate Republicans have made it clear they don’t support allowing new witnesses to be called because that should have been the House’s job, not the Senate’s, Democrats are predictably livid.  Right on cue Chuck Schumer said "That’s a cover-up, not a trial." This petulance, which is Chuck's major political attribute,  will last throughout the trial no matter how long it goes.

The die has been cast multiple times and the Rubicon has been crossed. There were plenty of times the Democrats could have turned back. But, even staring down poll numbers that should have disabused them of any desire to go the way of impeachment, they marched on unabated, straight for a cliff.

As they say, "Fools rush in to cry over spilled milk"...or something. At least Caesar became the dictator of the Roman Republic for his trouble. Nan and Chuck can’t even get a decent poll.

The Impeachment Signing Photo You Weren't Supposed to See

Democrat committee members convene in private as the Speaker of the House loads a bowl for the group's partaking of celebratory bong hits before officially signing off on the Articles of Impeachment and delivery to the Senate Chamber. The most amazing feature of this historic photo is that it shows Nancy Pelosi actually cast a reflection in the mirror.

J. Fatman Nadler and his Liberal Legal Intelligentsia Sideshow

House Judiciary Committee chairman J. Fatman Nadler (D-N.Y.) taken over as ringmaster for the ongoing impeachment circus. He’s billing his opening act as an inquiry into the “historical and constitutional basis of impeachment” and “the Framers’ intent.”

Don’t be fooled by Nadler’s scholarly posturing. He isn’t planning a civics lesson. Democrats are hell-bent on impeaching Trump, so Nadler has to rewrite American history and massage the meaning of the Constitution’s impeachment clause to fit the pile of non-evidence BS Adam Schiff’s Intelligence Committee has produced.

They swear they’re reluctant to drag the nation into impeachment, but their duty to defend the rule of law requires it. Democrats and their hand-picked legal experts argued that a president can be impeached without breaking a law. Suddenly impeachment isn’t about upholding the rule of law. The grounds are broader. Wide enough to drive a truck through.

The Framers couldn’t specify federal law violations because there were no federal laws yet. But today, it’s hard for any citizen to steer clear of the tangled web of federal laws. Still the impeachers can’t find a law Trump’s broken. The liberal legal intelligentsia is to spin impeachment to serve their politics.

Harvard law professor Noah Feldman, one of four academics Nadler is calling to testify, has been gunning for Trump since day one, just like many House Dems. In an April 2017 interview, Feldman already urged impeachment. The grounds? Trump’s criticisms of the press. Feldman claims “the real purpose of impeachment at the deepest level is for Congress to express its beliefs about what the right way to be president is.”

Madison would have been appalled, and Americans today need to beware.

Looks Like Dems Are Gonna Need a Bigger Can of Turd Polish

News that Washington didn’t tell Ukraine it was delaying aid until a month after the President's phone call to its leader punches a gaping hole in Dems' impeachment case. The Ukraine President believed the military funding was already granted to Kiev when he spoke with DJA in August. Dems are charging the DJT held up the money to pressure Zelensky to probe Joe Biden and his son. Hard to see how that works when Zelensky didn’t know about the aid holdup, but hey, the media got it out there.

This follows the awkward fact that several of the whistleblower’s other claims about that call aren’t borne out by the transcript. Then the case grew fishier still when the New York Times reported that the whistleblower first consulted with a Schiff aide, who suggested he file a complaint. (and if you believe Schiff was at a distance on this point, I have a talking frog to sell you).  Add in Thursdays nine hours of testimony behind closed doors that turned out to be another smelly turd on the dems front porch.  Fact is, this is really starting to look as meatless as the “Russian collusion” fairy tale which explains why Schiff is bringing back a familiar fallback, warning that any resistance to Congress’ demands for testimony or documents counts as “evidence” of obstruction of justice. It's becoming quite obvious that dems pulled the trigger on impeachment before they had the goods.

This attempt is truly desperate: poorly planned from the beginning, and so poorly executed that every one of the conspirators, especially Adam Schiff, CNN’s Fredo Cuomo and Jake Tapper, MSNBC’s Ricky Maddow and Larry O’Donnell sound like used car salesman with one day left to hit their monthly quota.

Breitbart has a list of '11 facts that have already unraveled the Ukraine Hoax'.

The Impeachment Frenzy Is a Fire Hose of…....

by Jon Gabriel

Following political news is often compared to drinking from a fire hose. This is true on a slow day let alone the past week-plus of impeachment fever. Since the first Ukraine story hit, major media outlets have torn into Trump like piranhas on an ox carcass. Reporters have declared “we’ve got him this time” every day since 2015; they don’t want to miss their latest chance, damn the facts.

And there are so many, ahem, “facts.” Each hour, another blockbuster hits. It takes about 90 minutes to prove many of these scoops false or at least questionable. By then, another blockbuster has hit, and another, and another. It’s a fire hose, alright. A fire hose of …....

Let’s just say the media uncorked a hydrant spraying taurine excreta throughout the Beltway and beyond. The fountain of feculence is hitting everyone in Trump’s orbit, from staffers to foreign leaders. The torrent of sewage is so intense, it’s splashing back on Trump’s accusers in the media and politics. Before Adam Schiff can shake the night soil off his too-tight suit, reporters uncap new firehoses showering more steer stool in every direction.

No one’s even holding the hoses at this point; they’re spasmodic snakes, spraying dung in every direction from Kyiv to Canberra. Everyone will come out looking awful; Democrats, Republicans, pundits — you name it. Instead of a logical impeachment roll-out to win support among moderates and a few errant Republicans, the common voter will likely damn everyone involved.

Yes, Trump’s Ukraine call was questionable but it certainly doesn’t rise to the level of impeachment. Hunter Biden’s cashing in on his dad’s name is obviously corrupt; most Democratic voters would agree with that. Investigating foreign influence on our elections is a good thing, whether it’s coming from Democrats or Republicans

Impeachment has been the left’s goal since December 2016 — before Trump even took office. Ukraine is just another bite of the apple after the Mueller report failed so spectacularly. The media hysteria over Ukraine feels a lot like the recent Greta hysteria. There’s no time to absorb facts, discuss options, or weigh pros and cons. We need to act now or else!

Hysteria is a poor strategy. It didn’t work for climate change or Kavanaugh or the many other panics we’ve been subjected to since Trump took office. How Trump’s detractors think this will end well is beyond me.

Impeach, Imprison & Place in Solitary Confinement

Maxine Waters, the congressional wig-hat wearing Queen of Bombast who represents Los Angles, was one of the first democrats to openly call for President DJT impeachment beginning shortly after his inauguration, now says that's not good enough. Today Waters took to the tweeter to further the dems narrative du jour to say that she's had enough of the president's nasty talk of whistleblowers being spies & using mob language and stuff to imply they should be killed. But she went even further, "He needs to be imprisoned & placed in solitary confinement."
DJT remarked that those who fed the information to the whistleblower were "close to a spy" and "You know what we used to do in the old days, when we were smart, right? The spies and treason? We used to handle it a little differently than we do now", which taken in context is far from what Water accuses him of saying. This is the biggest weapon the dems have against DJT, twist his words and the media will dutifully echo.

Maxine should really be thankful there is no law against being ugly, stupid and obnoxious, else she be serving a life sentence.......

Dems Count on Media to Muddy The Waters Leading into Their Impeachment Gamble

Journalists use the tool of "anonymous sources" to push out stories of dubious repute, to push agendas, and do the bidding of their chosen political party. They hide behind the first amendment and defend the practice by saying it’s the only way you can get people to talk. But there are two major problems with this:

First, by definition a person who needs anonymity to be able to talk is probably not supposed to be talking, which means he or she is betraying someone else’s trust or privacy by doing so. And second, if we don’t know who the journalist’s source is then we’re left to assess the credibility of the report based on how much we trust the journalist, which they have made hard to do.

That’s not how this is supposed to work and with the whistleblower complaint concerning Ukraine, we’ve got that same problem, but an even more severe case of it. Not only do we not know who the whistleblower’s sources are, we don’t even know who the whistleblower is. So we’re being asked to trust second-hand reports from anonymous sources, conveyed to us by a “whistleblower” who is himself anonymous, and admits to not having witnessed any of what he’s complaining about.

And is it more than a coincidence that this complaint surfaced and was directed to the House Intelligence Committee just after Adam Schiff expressed numerous complaints in August 2019 accusing DJT of abusing aid to Ukraine to hurt Joe Biden. This includes an August 28 tweet that closely resembled the whistleblowing complaint.

Is it any surprise, then, that key details of the whistleblower’s story are falling apart? We already know there are details of the whistleblower’s complaint that are directly contradicted by the call transcript, such as Trump demanding a quid pro quo and Trump asking about Biden eight times. Now we know the whistleblower got at least some of the call participants wrong.  Is anyone starting to wonder if the whistleblower is Christopher Steele? Because this is starting to sound about as accurate as his notorious dossier.

The media will continue to dissect every syllable of every statement going forward and read some kind of devious intention to every word. Known unreliable media outlets will continue to introduce unsubstantiated rumors and old unproven unsourced news stories into the news cycle and never ending anti-Trump panel discussions to be referenced in later committee hearings as truth, dems in turn feed media talking points. Rinse and repeat. You can also expect a lot of want-to-be Woodward & Bernsteins "throwing crap out to see if anyone denies it" type journalism. This is the basis on which House Democrats presume to impeach the president, with media as their bullhorn.

UPDATE: Anyone who watched any 30 min block of CNN today saw the above paragraph illustrated para excellence.....
