Walmart to Greatly Expand Services to Walmartians

Following weeks of intense consumer profiling and sophisticated demographic trending, Walmart customers can soon expect to get far more from their local Supercenter than just a pedicure, a tire change and a greasy bag of chicken gizzards.  According to sources familiar with jelly shoes and baby-daddies, over the next several months the mega-retailer is expected to unveil countless new services to its empire.

In addition to Walmart's already highly successful lineup of pseudo-salons, vision centers, and banks you've never heard of, customers can soon expect to have the added conveniences of bail bondsmen, tattoo parlors and paternity testing kiosks, just to name a few.

"We also cash government checks and offer convenient money transfers to Mexico,"  said customer service clerk, DJ Chunky as he refunded money for a rancid melon. According to Mr. Chunky , these latest product advancements are largely attributed to consumer reports the company purchased from survey-taking giant, Whorzpuck International, who pay people to fill out surveys.

In tough economic times, retailers are clamoring for even marginally good ideas, relying heavily upon companies like Whorzpuck and valuing the opinions of people like Maynard Perkins. "The economicals of good surveyin' is widely misunderstanded," explained Perkins,  "and, 'cause I'm real good at fillin' out surveys, that's how come I get paid for the kinds of things I think about." Perkins, a self-proclaimed UFO expert and permanent resident of Sweaty Meadows RV Camp, earns between $2 and $5 per survey, depending on length and eligibility.

MFNS met up with Buzz Hopper, Walmart's Director of Quasi-Accurate Information, who noted that while a dentist office wouldn't perform well in a Walmart, there does appear to be a high demand for herpes clinics. Hopper further explained that Whorzpuck reports can vary from city to city.

"For example, in Los Angeles," said Hopper, "Whorzpuck data suggests that Walmart should offer liposuction, ankle lifts and two-for-one mole removal, while, in places like Miami, that demand shifts toward workshops identifying the differences between bath salt and crack cocaine."

"Rest assured, we remain committed to helping people save money and live better," said Hopper. "And, if that means avoiding incarceration, disproving paternity or testing for herpes, then that's what we'll help them with."

Elevator For Democrats

Our 6 Years of Failed Keynesian Economic Practice.

Scott Grannis recently posted a pretty devastating critique of Keynesian economic theory and the abject failure of Keynesian fiscal stimulus in the period following the Great Recession (“the most expensive such failure in the history of the world”), here’s an excerpt below and I encourage you to read the entire post (with charts) HERE.
"Despite assurances from politicians and most economists of Keynesian persuasion, not only did the biggest and most rapid increase in our federal debt burden [in the six years ending June 2014] since WW II fail to boost the economy, it coincided with the weakest recovery in history—growth of only 2.2% per year on average. This is not a problem of not spending enough, it is a failure of ideology, and arguably the most expensive such failure in the history of the world.
Here’s the failure in a nutshell: The government can’t stimulate the economy by borrowing from Peter and sending a check to Paul, because that doesn’t create any new demand—it’s like taking a bucket of water from one end of the pool and pouring it into the other end; the level of the water doesn’t change. And the government can’t stimulate the economy by spending more, because the government is notoriously inefficient (not to mention the fraud, waste, and incompetence that surround most major public initiatives); the private sector is far more likely to spend its money wisely and productively than the government is. Growth only happens when an economy produces more from a given amount of resources—when productivity rises. And productivity only rises when people work more, smarter, and more efficiently, and that takes hard work and risk. You can’t just dial up productivity, you have to work for it. We can’t “spend our way to prosperity,” as the late and great Jude Wanniski told us.
Here’s my interpretation of what really happened in a nutshell: the private sector generated $8.9 trillion of profits in the past six years, and the federal government borrowed 83% of those profits to fund a massive increase in transfer payments, income redistribution, bailouts, subsidies, and a modest increase in infrastructure spending (only 8% of the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act went to transportation and infrastructure).
What happened to all the profits? Almost all of the most incredible surge in profits in modern times was squandered by our government, flushed down the Keynesian drain.
The past six years in effect have been a laboratory experiment to determine whether Keynesian economic theory is valid. The result? Keynesian economic theory is (or should be) officially dead. It doesn’t work. Government can’t boost the economy by borrowing or spending more money. Politicians will be unhappy to hear this, of course, since they would prefer that we think they can dispense growth and prosperity on demand. Those who insist in perpetrating this myth should be voted out of office."

Dingy Harry's Alma Mater Strips His Name from Building

Southern Utah University, where Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid went to school, is stripping his name from one of its buildings after the city where the college is located got $40,000 in pledges in five days from people who wanted his name to come down.

The Nevada Democrat’s name had been put on the Southern Utah University Outdoor Engagement Center (?) to honor the school’s famous alumnus, President Scott Wyatt told The Spectrum newspaper.
"The Harry Reid name created confusion about the purpose of the center because nobody associated Harry Reid with the outdoors, so they were having a hard time creating a clear brand.
While Cozzens is still somewhat concerned that the name may be actively used in the future, he said he is happy to see the Reid name go for now, arguing that he had been approached by friends from Nevada who said they would not support the university as long as the senator’s name was associated with it in any way......"

Feds Look To Install Tracking Software In All Vehicles

Western Journalism

According to recent documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a plan is under way to implement new rules that would require passenger vehicles on the road in America to “communicate” with each other – and, some worry, the government.

The so-called “vehicle-to-vehicle communication” system detailed in the NHTSA report indicates that “light vehicles” would transmit data across short distances, giving the recipient of such information
any pertinent information about the driver and his or her actions behind the wheel.

While the NHTSA is selling the program as a way to provide more accurate and immediate information regarding accidents and other roadway dangers, the potential invasion of privacy it could create is not lost on critics of government intrusion. The Washington Post reports that finalized proposals regarding the technology are expected in 2016. In the meantime, the administration is working to spread the ostensible virtues of such a system. The administration dismissed privacy concerns, concluding that it “is confident that the V2V system both achieves the agency’s safety goals and protects consumer privacy appropriately.”

America and the Islamic State

"America’s basic objective is clear: We must seek to destroy the Islamic State. It is simply not enough to block the group’s threat to the Kurds or other vulnerable minorities in the region. The risks of even a relatively small 'state' (or 'caliphate,' as they proclaim it) are chilling. Leaving the Islamic State in place and in control only of its current turf in Iraq and Syria (including northern-Iraqi hydrocarbon deposits and associated infrastructure) would make it viable economically and a fearsome refuge for terrorists of all sorts.
Just as Afghanistan’s Taliban gave al-Qaeda a base of operations to launch terrorist attacks culminating in 9/11, a similar result could follow if the Islamic State successfully erased and then redrew existing boundaries."  — John R. Bolton, Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations

Gifts Fit for the Queen

From the Obama Family Album

The President Surprises the First Lady on Arrival at Martha's Vineyard Vacation Residence

A Kindly Old Billionaire and Supreme Hypocrite

by Robert Janicki

Billionaire Warren Buffet, often called the Oracle of Omaha for his business acumen, has, once again, blown his cover as a common man of the Midwest.

Early on, Buffet jumped on President Obama's bandwagon to criticize those companies that relocate their headquarters outside the United States in order to reduce their tax liability.  Obama, with Buffet right behind him, has castigated corporations for moving their headquarters out of the Unites States and characterized them as unpatriotic, although what they are doing is completely legal.

Bear in mind that the corporate tax rate in the U.S. is 35% and advances to over 40% when state and local taxes are included.  The 35% U.S. rate, in comparison, is the highest corporate tax rate in the world.  Also note that those companies that move their company headquarters out of the United States are not avoiding any corporate taxes for their operations in the U.S..  They are simply avoiding taxes on those profits earned outside the U.S., which they are currently obligated to pay to the U.S. Treasury.

Fast forward to the latest Buffet hypocrisy.
"In May, billionaire Warren Buffett blasted the very corporate “tax inversion” schemes his firm Berkshire Hathaway is about to finance as part of Burger King relocating its headquarters to Canada to lower its tax burden."

Buffet is Chairman of the Board of investment goliath Berkshire Hathaway and its largest investor.  It's reported that Berkshire is about to spend $3 billion dollars to buy a significant portion of Burger King, which is moving to Canada, to enjoy their lower corporate tax rate.

Someone please tell me why Warren Buffet is not a hypocrite for supporting and profiting from a corporation seeking to reduce its tax liability in the U. S. by moving it headquarters outside the U.S., all the while joining President Obama in condemning such actions?

North Korea Building Missile Submarine

Fresh from their recent successfully completed Naval spy mission directed at the arrival of the Presidential entourage on Martha's Vineyard, the North Koreans are believed to be developing a new threat to peace.

From the Washington Free Beacon:
U.S. intelligence agencies believe North Korea is building a submarine capable of launching ballistic missiles, potentially increasing the threat posed by the nuclear-armed rogue state.
A missile launch tube on a North Korean submarine was observed recently by U.S. intelligence agencies and is raising new concerns about the missile and nuclear threat from the communist regime in Pyongyang, according to two defense officials familiar with reports of the development.
Pentagon spokesman Lt. Col. Jeffrey Pool declined to comment on the North Korean missile submarine program. “We do not comment on intelligence matters, but we do urge North Korea to become more transparent in their defense sector in order to reduce tensions in the region,” he said in a statement. Details of the missile submarine remain closely held within the government.
Military analysts expressed surprise at the intelligence on the missile submarine program and speculated the submarine could be a modification of one of North Korea’s Russian or Chinese design Romeo-class diesel submarines.
The majority of the North’s submarines, more than two dozen, are small, Sango-class mini-submarines used for covert commando operations to infiltrate South Korea during a conflict. The North Koreans also have four 1940s-design Whiskey-class submarines from Russia.
Until the recent discovery of the modified submarine, there were no intelligence signs North Korea is interested in developing its own submarine-launched missiles.

Caucus of Congressional Black Folks Demand Feds Take Control of Local Law enforcement Agencies

The Congressional Black Caucus led by the likes of Maxine Water, Shelia Jackson Lee and Elijah Cummings are well known for putting forth monumental stupid ideas, but their newest idea of federal government intervention into the American way is as reckless and stupid as ever.

Rep. Elijah 'is this microphone on' Cummings

In a letter to President Obama, black lawmakers are demanding that the feds wrestle control of local law enforcement away from community police agencies. Great Idea. Turn community policing into the business of the most corrupt Department of Justice in history, led by a lawless race baiting Attorney General, who himself should be behind bars.
"In cities across America, local law enforcement units too often treat low-income neighborhoods populated by African Americans and Latinos as if they are military combat zones instead of communities where people strive to live, learn, work, play and pray in peace and harmony."
"The Administration must appoint a federal Czar, housed in the U.S. Department of Justice, who is specifically tasked with promoting the professionalization of local law enforcement, monitoring egregious law enforcement activities, and adjudicating suspicious actions of local law enforcement agencies that receive federal funding.
"DOJ must set and implement national standards of investigation that are democratic (involving independent review boards broadly representative of the community served), transparent, and enforceable."
And of course, all must be subject to CBC version of government reeducation:
"Law enforcement personnel in every department in the country, under guidelines set by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), should be required to undergo racial bias training as a part of ongoing professional development and training."
Mr. Cummings and the geniuses in the CBC seem to not understand policies in place for the DOJ to investigate at will what they deem unjust. Nor does he understand the rights of States and local municipalities to police the streets without a Soviet type DOJ "Political Officer " looking over their shoulder.

.....and the Store Video was Just a Reenactment of Jesus and The Money Changers.

200 Years Ago Today Washington Was On Fire

National Journal
Washingtonians' August tradition of abandoning their city for more pleasant surroundings is nothing new; it's nearly as old as the Capitol itself. But 200 years ago, it wasn't because of the weather that nearly every resident fled, including President Madison. It was because of an invading British army.

During the week of Aug. 20, 1814, British troops moved quickly up the Eastern Shore of Maryland, where they met little resistance. An American militia led by Brigadier Gen. William Winder, who little more than a year earlier was a Baltimore lawyer, gathered for a battle near the town of Bladensburg against a British force that included seasoned veterans of the Napoleonic wars. They quickly dispatched the poorly trained and ill-equipped American troops. By 8 p.m. on Aug. 24, the British had marched the five miles into Washington and were at the doorstep of the Capitol. Most citizens had deserted the city by this time, including President Madison.

The building was still unfinished at the time; the iconic dome and rotunda had not yet been built. According to the architect of the Capitol, British soldiers focused on main rooms in the building, and spared the lobbies, hallways, and stairs they would need to escape.

In the South Wing, soldiers barged into the House of Representatives chamber on the second floor. They gathered wooden furniture, placed it in a pile, slathered it with gunpowder paste, and lit the pile on fire. The fire was so hot that, with the exception of the clerk's office, most of the other offices in the South Wing were left without being lit ablaze by enemy soldiers.

The North Wing at the time was home to the Senate chambers, the unfinished Library of Congress, and the Supreme Court on the first floor. All of the rooms were destroyed using materials from within, including the 3,000 books stored in the Library of Congress. Finally, the temporary wooden walkway between the Capitol's two wings was set ablaze and the soldiers moved on, marching northwest up Pennsylvania Avenue to destroy other government buildings, including the president's residence, now called the White House.

Damage was severe within the major rooms but the structure of both wings remained intact, thanks to fireproof materials such as marble, sandstone, zinc, copper, and iron used by architect Benjamin Henry Latrobe. Two centuries later, architecture that survived the fire, such as the "water leaves columns" in the Small House Rotunda and "corn cob" columns near the original entrance of the North Wing, are still visible.

Far Left Intellectual Loon Calls BoBo a Sell-Out

"And we ended up with a brown-faced Clinton. Another opportunist. Another neoliberal opportunist. It’s like, “Oh, no, don’t tell me that!” I tell you this, because I got hit hard years ago, but everywhere I go now, it’s “Brother West, I see what you were saying. Brother West, you were right. Your language was harsh and it was difficult to take, but you turned out to be absolutely right.” And, of course with Ferguson, you get it reconfirmed even among the people within his own circle now, you see. It’s a sad thing. It’s like you’re looking for John Coltrane and you get Kenny G in brown skin."- Cornel West

The Vanity of a Democrat's Insanity

by Robert Janicki

What is it about Democrats and their propensity toward inane, if not absolutely insane comments?  Take this latest comment:

From the Washington Free Beacon.
A prominent Philadelphia union official said that police officers should “suffer” in the wake of the Ferguson riots.
Stewart Acuff, organizing director of the National Union of Hospital and Healthcare Employees local 1199, says police should “suffer” in order to win justice for Mike Brown, the 18-year-old unarmed man shot dead in a small Missouri city.
The cops are pawns who should suffer for what they did.#TrayvonMartin #MikeBrown #EricGarner #inequality
— Stewart Acuff (@stewartacuff) August 18, 2014
In addition to his current local organizing role, Acuff is a former organizing director for the AFL-CIO, according to the Labor Union Report.
Does this fool realize or even care that many law enforcement agencies are unionized?  He sounds just like the vigilante mobs in Ferguson, MO.  Perhaps he needs to be treated in the same lawless manner he suggests cops should be treated.  It sounds like it would be a "proportional response" to me.

Large Amounts of Methane Discovered
Seeping from Atlantic Sea Bed

"Scientists have discovered methane gas bubbling from the sea floor in an unexpected place: off the East Coast of the United States where the continental shelf meets the deeper Atlantic Ocean.
“This is a large amount of methane seepage in an area we didn’t expect. That raises new questions for us.”
The methane is emanating from at least 570 locations, called seeps, from near Cape Hatteras, N.C., to the Georges Bank southeast of Nantucket, Mass. While the seepage is widespread, the researchers estimated that the amount of gas was tiny compared with the amount released from all sources each year. In a paper published online Sunday in the journal Nature Geoscience, the scientists, including Adam Skarke of Mississippi State University and Carolyn Ruppel of the United States Geological Survey, reported evidence that the seepage had been going on for at least 1,000 years.
Methane is a potent, if relatively short-lived, greenhouse gas, so the discovery should aid the study of an issue of concern to climate scientists: the potential for the release of huge stores of methane on land and under the seas as warming of the atmosphere and oceans continues.
“It highlights a really key area where we can test some of the more radical hypotheses about climate change,” said John Kessler, a professor at the University of Rochester who was not involved in the research."

The Worst of Demagogues

The worst of the lot are not from the envious poor, but from among the embarrassed wealthy.

This fully explains the high-low composition of the Democratic party, with super-wealthy elites at one end and lofo and lower IQ hordes at the other. You could say that the difference between the two is that the elites are bankrupt in every way except financially.

This little formula explains why the wealthiest counties in the nation trend Democrat, just as do places like Ferguson. The two are locked in a deathly parasitic embrace, for liberals destroy and have destroyed the very people they most rely upon to support them at the polls, and the underclass can be relied upon to support the very people and polices that ensure its own continued ruin. The resultant civilizational collapse is what they call "progress."

Is greed a sufficient reason to account for wealth? If so, then every human being would be wealthy. But envy is a sufficient reason to account for poverty, and the left's core idea -- well, to be perfectly accurate, it is not an idea. Rather, envy is a human instinct that cannot be eliminated, only indulged or overcome. A necessary condition of national wealth is breaking through the envy barrier, so that people can become successful and wealthy without incurring the primitive "evil eye" of the envious.

But at the same time, the successful must tolerate the inevitable envy of others without surrendering to the impulse to make the envy go away by feeding it. This only fuels the envy, which is precisely why so many race riots broke out after the greatest successes of the civil rights movement. (And to be clear, the cosmic imperative to exercise charity toward one's fellow man has nothing to do with appeasing envy; they arise from radically different places.)

After 1965 the movement transitioned from advocating universal principles to nurturing universal envy and resentment. If an Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson -- or Jeremiah Wright -- are actually your "leaders," then that is a hint that you have spiritually hit bottom.

Avenging What's-His-Name

MFNS
Op-Ed and Opinion

"In my day, looting actually meant something"

Mr. Cannibus
by Rebus Cannibus

I look at the events unfolding in Ferguson, Missouri, and I just shake my head. Those shaggy headed nincompoops have no respect for the art of forming a mob, breaking into a business, loading your arms with as many goods as you can carry, then fleeing — all in the name of political dissatisfaction. In my day, looting actually meant something.

When I was a young man growing up disaffected and angry in Los Angeles in the 1960s, my friends and I would spend hours each night engaged in heated debate about how to best express our frustration. I clearly remember the night we developed — with no small degree of trepidation, mind you, for we knew very well the gravity of our discourse — a new, meaningful mode of political dissent.

Much as a Buddhist might set himself on fire to protest the treatment of his community, we decided we could set fire to our entire community, rampage the very shops we relied on, our own shops, owned by our neighbors and family members. The poetry of such an act could not be misunderstood. The hand that strikes itself is the angriest.

When the time was right and riots broke out in Watts, we engaged thusly, looting with moral certainty, successfully garnering the national attention we deserved. We were no longer “angry youth,” but rather we were “looters,” a force with which to be reckoned. To the establishment we said, “You can no longer hurt us, for we are hurting ourselves.”

Such political dissent was employed sporadically in the subsequent decades, always with the clear implication that the act of looting is a symbolic act, an act of self-sacrifice. Looters were not stealing to get things for free; they were stealing to say to the world, “Hey, it’s about time you looked at us, and if I have to carry a heavy, brand-new 42-inch TV halfway across town to prove it, by golly, I will.”

Youngsters today have it all wrong. If you watch any of the the looting footage from Ferguson, the teenagers making off with boxes of Nikes or handfuls of beer and cigarillos are running with impish grins on their faces, looking like damn mice when the cat’s away. They do not respect the solemnity of their task.  Even worse, some of the looters are covering their faces as if to say, “What I am doing is wrong, and I am therefore too ashamed to let people see my identity.” I know this because I’ve seen the videos of youngsters foolishly pulling their shirts over their heads as they dart into a Quikie Mart, only to emerge a moment later with nothing more than a bag of Starburst candies and a Monster energy drink. Pathetic.

It’s a shame what looting has become.

GAO Puts a Hitch in Obama's "git along" Over Legality of Bowe Bergdahl Prisoner Swap

by Robert Janicki
I can imagine Obama fuming over this latest rebuff to his "I have a pen and phone" style of administrative tyranny.  What I'm not certain of is whether it will have practical application that will result in anything more than a footnote in the history of the most corrupt administration in American history.  In all likelihood the GAO may not have any responsibility other than the reporting of the illegality of the action by Obama and his henchmen  In the end it may be all about politics and a lot less about the law.

from NRO
"President Obama violated a “clear and unambiguous” law when he released five Guantanamo Bay detainees in exchange for Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl, the Government Accountability Office reported Thursday.
[The Department of Defense] violated section 8111 because it did not notify the relevant congressional committees at least 30 days in advance of the transfer,” the GAO report said. “In addition, because DOD used appropriated funds to carry out the transfer when no money was available for that purpose, DOD violated the Antideficiency Act. The Antideficiency Act prohibits federal agencies from incurring obligations exceeding an amount available in an appropriation.”
Our marvelously inept and incompetent Secretary of Defense was complicit in this illegal act, but then again why would anyone expect Chuck Hagel to step up and object to Obama's plan.  I'd really be surprised if Hagel can walk and chew gun at the same time.  Hagel was the shame of Nebraska as one of its Senators for two terms with an absolutely meaningless and unproductive career as a Senator.  He had very little in the way of authoring any legislation, let alone anything of consequence.

It's obvious from the following that the Obama administration was leaning on the GAO to acknowledge that the ruling law in question was to be viewed as unconstitutional so as to provide cover for Obama.  However, that would have been a bridge too far to cross for the GAO, since they are not a court, but rather an administrative oversight agency with questionable powers to enforce any of their findings of wrong doing.
"The GAO rejected the idea that the action was legal and sidestepped the Obama team’s suggestion that the law is unconstitutional.
“It is not our role or our practice to determine the constitutionality of duly enacted statutes,” the report says. “In our view, where legislation has been passed by Congress and signed by the President, thereby satisfying the bicameralism and presentment requirements in the Constitution, that legislation is entitled to a heavy presumption in favor of constitutionality.”

ISIS: "If They Want to Die, Help Them Out"

Blood on Obama's Golf Club

Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer (Ret.), a CIA-trained former senior intelligence officer today appeared on WMAL radio in Washington, D.C., to discuss the ISIS execution of American journalist James Foley earlier this week.

WFB
"He told me and co-host Brian Wilson that the recently revealed rescue attempt led by Special Forces earlier this summer failed because President Obama was slow to give the go-ahead:
"I’m hearing from my friends in the Pentagon, they are giving him every single option way ahead of time. And let me give you a little secret here: The reason that raid into Syria failed to get Foley and those guys was because the president drug his feet. He waited too long, the intel got stale, and by the time we actually gave the “go” word it failed because we just didn’t react quick enough."

This president not only has no balls (safely locked away in Valerie Jarrett's purse), he has no guts either.

More Proof We're Being Governed By Idiots

State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf told reporters with a straight face at a news briefing about the savage beheading of American photojournalist James Foley by savages calling themselves the Islamic State, that not only was the crime not directed against the United States, it wasn’t done in the name of religion either.

Israeli Delivers Major Blow to Hamas

Goes for the Head of the Snake

(AP)- An Israeli airstrike in Gaza killed three senior leaders of the Hamas military wing on Thursday, the militant group said, in what is likely to be a major blow to the organization's morale and a significant scoop for Israeli intelligence. Israel says the airstrikes are in response to a resumption of Hamas rocket fire that on Tuesday scuttled a six-day cease-fire. The strike near Rafah, a town in the southern part of the coastal territory, was one of 20 the Israeli military said it carried out after midnight.
In a text message sent to media, Hamas said three of its senior military leaders — Mohammed Abu Shamaleh, Mohammed Barhoum and Raed al-Attar — were killed, along with three other people. The three Hamas leaders are considered to be at the senior levels of its military leadership and were involved in a number of high profile attacks on Israeli targets.
On Wednesday, in the most spectacular Israeli strike since the cease-fire was breached, Hamas' shadowy military chief, Mohammed Deifm, was the object of an apparent assassination attempt that killed his wife and infant son. Hamas officials announced that Deif was not in the targeted home at the time and was still alive.

The Media and Ferguson, Missouri

"The most poisonous '-ism' now infecting Ferguson, Missouri, is not virulent racism. It's viral narcissism.

Maybe Eric Holder Should Clean Up His Own Yard

"D.C. police say that of the 18 race-based hate crimes in 2013, the majority of victims were white and the majority of suspects black. The number of incidents was up from the 13 race-based bias crimes reported in 2012."
In 2009 Eric Holder went on record and testified before a Senate judiciary Committee to explain new Hate Crime legislation was written to protect those that have historically been oppressed and targeted because of skin color or religious affiliation, giving African Americans and Jews as examples. When asked some simple question pertaining to how the laws would be enforced Mr. Holder stumbled over himself a bit as he struggled to justify his reasoning.

This we call a post-racial America, where your skin color determines if you hate or not.

The Killing of Cops and Other Footnotes in History

Now that it has been reported that Ferguson Police officer Darren Wilson suffered a serious injury during his confrontation with Michael Brown, and breaking news that his companion Dorian Johnson recanted his media statement, along with the revelations of numerous eyewitness seem to confirm the police account of events are making more and more observers draw an increasingly likely conclusion:

On that fateful Saturday, August 9, Officer Wilson was trying to avoid becoming what cops too often do. A statistic.

“On average, one law enforcement officer is killed in the line of duty somewhere in the United States every 58 hours,” writes the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. Yet they don’t receive ultimate attention. That’s reserved for the likes of Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin, and Mumia Abu-Jamal — the last of whom murdered a Philadelphia police officer named Daniel Faulkner in 1981.

The reality is that if Brown had killed Officer Wilson 10 days ago, it just would have been a footnote in the news. No high profile racial bias investigation by the DOJ. No intervention by the Attorney General.

Columnist and former Dade County Sheriff s Office police captain Frank Marshall cites three recent deaths:
• July 13th. Detective Melvin Santiago, 23, Jersey City P.D., New Jersey. Ambushed when responding to a robbery call. Killed because he was a cop. Suspect is a black male who was killed on the scene. The suspect’s wife said that more cops should have been killed.
• July 6th. Officer Jeffery Westerfield, 47, Gary Police Department, Indiana. Responded to a domestic disturbance call. He was ambushed, shot in his patrol car as he arrived. Killed on his 47th birthday, he leaves behind four daughters. Another loyal, American officer… killed for being a cop. Suspect was a black male.
• July 5th. Officer Perry Renn, 51, Indianapolis P.D., Indiana. Answered a call about shots being fired in the area. Shot as he arrived. Officer Renn was also an U.S. Army veteran. Killed because he was a cop. Suspect was a black male.
Marshall also adds further perspective:
“At least 120 to 180 officers a year are killed in the line of duty. In 2014, the death toll is on track toward 130 dead officers. Half of those have been killed by gunfire. Most of those are killed because they were a cop. Why don’t we label that bigotry? Hate crime?”
Statistically, 94 percent of all black homicide victims are killed by other blacks, and black Americans are more likely to shoot whites than whites are to shoot blacks. This makes white-on-black homicide a man-bites-dog story relatively speaking, yet that isn’t why the media afford such cases disproportionate coverage. Rather, we’re supposed to believe they are cases of dog bites man — and that the media is the dog catcher.

Refuses Challenge by an 86-Year-Old

The latest social media trend to sweep the nation is being done to raise awareness for Lou Gehrig’s Disease (ALS), and has had a wide range of high-profile participants. People across the country have taken the Ice Bucket Challenge in order to help raise money for ALS research.  Participants have a bucket of ice cold water dumped on their heads, much like football players do to their coach to celebrate a victory. Many well-known people, politicians and celebrities have taken the “challenge” and help raise over $15.6 million dollars for ALS awareness and research.

After a participant takes the challenge, they then nominate somebody else to do it in order to keep the trend going, which is exactly what 86-year-old Ethel Kennedy, widow of Robert Kennedy Jr. did when she completed the challenge at the Kennedy home in Hyannis Port, Mass.  Once she did,
(Video Here) she had a message and a challenge for President Barack Obama:
“Welcome to Cape Cod, President Obama. I nominate you.”
Since the challenge is for a good cause and raises money to help fight the progressive neurodegenerative disorder, most high-profile people gladly accept the challenge once they’re nominated, but the most notable name in America won’t be participating.

Here’s the response the White House gave to the Boston Globe regarding Kennedy’s nomination for the challenge:
“The President appreciates Mrs. Kennedy thinking of him for the challenge – though his contribution to this effort will be monetary. The President will be making a donation to an ALS charity this week.”
How much? A mere $100.

Way to go Borack, way to set an example for other high-profile people by donating your pocket change to a more than worthy cause. Absolutely pathetic. He spends more on greens fees at the courses he golfs at than he’s donating to help others.
